At the beginning Jimmy points at Diesel and says 'come on ' and then you can hear Jimmy say 'help me out Farnham.'- end of night, last song I think, just 3 blokes having fun, Love this.
Three absolute legends right here in Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham and Diesel aka Mark Lizotte. Man, every time they are together they look like they enjoy what they do. I am not sure that any one had vocal training, just natural talent and started so young. Jimmy was 16 and a half when he became the lead singer of Cold Chisel. John Farnham was a teen idol in 1967, at approximately 18 years of age. Diesel was in bands at High School (where he played instruments only) and later formed Johnny Diesel and The Injectors in 1986 where he sung lead vocals. In Australia bands had to be able to play live music ti be successful and so artists had to perfect their sound to make it. Perfect times make great music.
Every time Jimmy sings with John he yells out Killer after the performance. (referring to Farnhams vocal ability) Apparently Jimmy and John and probably Deisel use their false vocal chords for that grit ....which protects their actual vocal chords. Don't Ask Me how that works but if Dr Kap is watching I've no doubt she can tell you.
Thats why we have to get it out there and try and encourage our current generation on how to do it properly. No vocal training for John or Jimmy - not sure about Diesel. Thanks guys.
Just having so much fun together - just such great mates. No competing just the utmost respect and love for each other and it shows in their performance 🎉🎉 ❤❤
Wonder if they’d let us join the band 😂😂😂. I could ‘try’ and hit a Tamborine to the beat of the music lol. Yes I’m over tired and being silly Deb lol. When they mentioned about what u told them about John forgetting lyrics - in John’s interviews, he openly admits it’s it and laughs, called himself an airhead once lol, as you’d know. John is definitely not a snob, he doesn’t think he deserves accolades, or attention , he’s just, as we’ve said, one heck of a unique down to earth good guy - who can sing the heck out of anything. My bad, Jimmy and Diesel were on stage too. Yes I have Jimmy’s screaming alarm clock, 3 of his books. As for Diesel - brilliant as usual . What a dynamic trio 👍
@bernadettelanders7306 Yes I was just watching him on Fast Forward with Magda - sooo funny 😁 😂 and I love his interviews with Ray Martin on the Midday Show 🥰🤣
@bernadettelanders7306 Let's be silly together ❤️ 🤪 Remember when he asked the whole audience to join the band in a Chain Reaction concert. I just don't think we'll ever have another all around entertainer like him again - and the only one that comes to mind is Harry Secombe - my Dad loved his singing and he was an incredible comedian - one of the Goons. I wonder if John ever listened to the Goon Show - have you ever heard of it? 😄😄
@@AussieDebb Now u have me thinking lol. I remember John getting the whole audience to sing part of a song and he recorded it. …. No, another song I’m thinking of lyrics are - Fight For Survival … they had to sing… from the song - Always The Same - have you seen that vid, it’s hysterical. Now I’m going to have to find the one I mentioned / gee u r exercising my old brain far too much - I protestith 😂 Harry and British comedy, It’ll beat any country re comedy hands down 😂 Now I can’t remember what song you first mentioned, gawd I talk toooo much 😂
Per Jimmy, When I first started, all the reviews of Cold Chisel would say, "This singer won't have a voice in six months." That was 45 years ago. I've taught myself a different way of singing. See, when a normal person sings, they use their vocal cords …My secondary cords or "false cords". There are groups of them around the main cords. I discovered this many years ago. I'd had a bug, and because it was such a big show and we were postponing, I had to get a doctor's certificate for insurance. This throat specialist put a camera down my throat, and had me talking and singing. And he said, "You don't use your vocal cords." Singers who scream as much as I do tend to have problems. But my body found a way of self-defence. Johnny Diesel is Jimmy's brother inlaw. 🎸 ❤ Johnny Diesel born :: Mark Denis Lizotte is an American-born Australian singer-songwriter and musician, who has released material under the name Diesel, Johnny Diesel, as leader of band Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, and as a solo performer, as well as under his birth name. John is 74, Jimmy is 67, and Diesel is 57.

Yes, that's right, and then whispering the words in John's ear while Diesel was singing. Where would you see this anywhere today. 🤔
