I was in Spanagdalem, Germany on 9/11. I was set to return home to Japan on 9/12. I went from packing bags to fly home to generating A-10s for combat in the blink of an eye. I'll never forget the amount of flowers and candles the local Germans were placing around the base entrance. That memorial grew larger and larger each morning as we drove into work. I'll never forget the love and support they showed us!
Cheers mate! Love the new sounds, it's a killer upgrade!

Sending thoughts from the U.K on this day remembering an awful event that resonated around the world. I do remember the day, as I had a film & video production office in the building, and was the only person with several monitors/TV’s, so people from the other offices came in to watch. Strange to realise this was before most people had smart phones… Makes me feel old!
A great message as always, and sorry that you seem to be suffering with some nausea.
Check with your doctor first, but I find ginger shots (ginger mixed with apple juice in a small bottle) can sometimes be more effective than the usual prescribed anti-nausea meds.
    BW to all.

I’ve been totally sober now for over two years, and plan to stay that way. You’re absolutely right. Life is so much better now. There was a time that I couldn’t imagine my life without alcohol. New setup rocks dewd! I turn your vids on every morning. I’m from New Mexico. I’m Only 21 but I’m definitely a problem drinker. Luckily it was only a problem for around a year and I don’t drink much these days. I can only drink 2 beers at a time and I allow myself only 6 a month. I can’t drink hard liquor anymore, I lose control too fast. Every time I do I end up driving drunk or messing up relationships bad. Luckily I can control the beer well. My biggest problems now are kratom and weed, mostly the kratom. Shit is addictive, definitely not as bad for you as alcohol but still not good to be doing everyday.

Only 21.. I wish.. If only I had the wherewithal to realize what my life would be 20 Yeats later.. trust me when I say that you need to start changing those neural pathways early on so it's easier to battle the addiction into your later years... when you go hard like me for 30 years it's so much harder to reroute those mental pathways that control your behaviors.

@petergriffin680 Hey. Glad you're learning your limits. Takes some of us decades. Just want to say, careful with the kratom. I think it works on our opioid receptors and withdrawals can be wicked. Some states have banned it due to the dangers. I say taper off if able. Also, in case this helps you or anyone else, buying drinks from the grocery store for the week helped since it meant I was less likely to be at a register where it's sold! The powder drink packets like Emergen-C was helpful too. You're not alone!🙏🍀❤️‍🔥

Hey LD, I’m watching this video on Thursday morning. I too remember where I was on September 11. It was a devastating day, with so many lives taken and we were changed forever.
As for this video, the I’ll quit on Monday or tomorrow or whenever has played out in my head many times from the start of this journey. I never saw it as my last hoorah so I didn’t increase in volume, maybe because I never believe it will be the last time. When you still have control over it, it’s hard to stick to it. I have poured out alcohol when I have given in but weeks later found myself right back. Quitting is not impossible but it is a change of mindset. When you were speaking I saw how difficult it became and the emotions built up. It’s completely ok and more so shows how painful that situation was. The prize of giving up the poison ☠️ is the memories you’ve made with your family and friends. The thousands of people you have touched and impacted by sharing your story. The prize for me is hopefully avoiding any negative consequences and just living a clean life. Clear of toxins that were never meant to be ingested but somehow is so normalized that it makes it easy to purchase and consume. Anyways, LD keep stacking up that time, one day, one hour, one minute at a time. Hope you and everyone has a peaceful and beautiful day! Much love my friend!

Just got caught up on yesterday's and today's videos!! Sorry im late. I'm struggling a little to adjust to the new schedule, but it will sort itself out eventually! First of all, the audio quality is awesome with your new mic!! Im glad that this podcast gave you a reason to treat yourself. It's so cool! I couldn't agree more with your sentiments on growing into the best version of yourself after giving up alcohol. I like to think of it as we're going back to the people that we were before drinking, only now we're much wiser, motivated and empathetic. As for this video, I started checkong out the comments, and bigsarge said it perfectly. Don't drink...just for today! I used to have a lot of the same triggers and excuses. But if we're willing to recognize that giving into the trigger of just for today is going to aid us in extending our use for way longer, maybe we can start replacing that just for today i will drink thinking with just for today i will not drink. I used to use the same excuse as you. Not wanting to waste money. When i quit, i stopped worrying about how much money i was throwing away by throwing away helf full bottles. In fact, i not only threw them away, but i treated myself to dinner in the moments where throwing it away was particularly hard. I turned the situation around from a feeling of wasting money into an investment. Sure, ill never see those few dollars again, and now at times im spending more money. But I'm investing it into my health. Into extending my life for my family and myself! and eventually, the investment pays for itself. You are free, you are happier, healthier, your family gets to keep you longer, so do your friends, you're SAVING money overall and you're so much more productive. I can attest to all of this. I hope everyone here has had a great few days. All my love to this whole community ❤❤❤😊❤❤❤

    9/11/01
I had worked nights the night before at the hospital.
I remember the phone would NOT stop ringing.
I finally got up to answer & it was my mom. She told me to put the tv on. I’ve never felt such fear, unsafety for fellow Americans & genuine deep sadness.
I remember asking my mom if the Marine Corps could call my brother back up. She wasn’t sure. My brother served 4 or 5 yrs & that August he chose not to reenlist. The military ended up calling my brothers old pack up to go over. All were in a Hum V & hit a roadside bomb. All his brothers died in that explosion.
I believe we were all impacted wether on the day or years later from ptsd & many other ways.
I had lost my brother in 03… he had to attend everyone’s funeral.
I can’t imagine the weight of it all on his heart.
My brother hung my moon in my eyes. I lost him due to a od in a motel all alone on 1/20/18. I miss him. I carry a lot of ambiguous grief.
    Thanks LD
    God Bless our troops ❤🙏🏻

RIP for those lost on 9/11 in so many horrific ways, with some people even jumping to avoid a worse death. RIP also to all the first responders and others who died much later due to the effects of exposure to dangerous particulates in the air or depression, etc. So much suffering rippling out from that one event, including the major "ripple" of the U.S. involvement in Afghanistan and invasion of Iraq, which caused hundreds of thousands of deaths (RIP), wasted trillions and didn't seem to improve anything in the end. A true day of infamy. 🙏🙏🙏

I sat there with my baby son in my arms and cried and cried. Not only for all of the people involved, but also because I was holding this little innocent baby who I had brought into this crazy mixed up world. I already had fatty liver disease, but continued to heavy heavy binge drink. Then my primary doctor diagnosed me with AUD induced Hepatitis. I was finally able to just do it for some reason on my birthday back in January. There's a lot more crazy in my story but I am 9 mo sober now. Next month I have my bloodwork again to see if sobriety has made a difference in my liver enzymes. Fingers crossed. (I don't know what I'll do if it hasn't 😢).

I would often wake up feeling groggy, I’d tell myself I’m not going to drink today. I’d feel a little better by lunch time and I’d tell myself “I’ll just have a couple today” then next thing a couple turns into 10+ drinks by 5pm. I repeated this cycle for 10 years. In those 10 years I only had 3 days without drinking, and I can remember them because they were so far and few between.
Thing is I always knew I’d drink the next day because I would also be well stocked up with booze because I never wanted to run out.

I remember 9/11 as if it were yesterday! I was in my 9th grade English class when it happened. My teacher brought the TV into the classroom so we could watch the footage, and that's what we did all period. As soon as I got home that day, I rushed to the living room and turned on the TV to keep watching, it was awful! I actually went to visit "ground zero" shortly after the tragedy. My older brother was attending NYU at the time and when I went to visit him, I got a chance to see the destruction up close, it was absolute chaos down there! So sad because I used to live in NYC when I was a little kid, and I was always so fascinated by the twin towers because they were so iconic and they really made the New York skyline. I was devastated to see them go! Can't believe it's already been 23 years since that day!! The victims of 9/11 had no idea that it was their last day on earth, and those who survived had no idea that their lives would be forever changed! That's exactly why we should make the most of each and every single day because tomorrow is promised to no one. So I if you've come to the realization that your drinking has gotten out of control and you want to take action, today is the day!! Prayers to all the victims of 9/11/01! 🙏God bless you, LD and God bless the USA!! ❤
