I've never seen so many collective people be this excited for a Death Battle episode in ages, and for good reason, too, because this match-up rocks. Can't wait to see the final product blow up the internet!

Hey, I just noticed something about the army split screen line up. Bowser has all these iconic generals amongst his troops and his own son standing next to him. Dr. Eggman… Exclusing the mooks, he’s there by himself. Not even Metal Sonic is in the crowd… He’s hiding his full hand. I think he’s going to have the grunts go first to gauge the strengths and weaknesses of Bowser and his army. Then send in the general to attack key targets based off the data… Sneaky little brainiac.
Do they scale eggman higher? (I.E. 6-D and up) If yes, Eggman stomps. If not: Do they scale Bowser AND Eggman's high-end machines as equal? If no - Eggman's higher, refer to the first question. If no - Bowser's higher, Bowser stomps. If yes: Do they give Eggman's high-end crazy abilities? (I.E. concept, info or any layered hax) If yes: Eggman stomps. If not: Bowser Stomps. This fight is super weird for a few reasons. Eggman has access to numerous things that would be considered "actually viable" for winning the fight: Light-Man Eggman, Egg Salamander, Egg Wizard, Time Eater, Sage and likely more. Bowser has himself, King Boo probably, likely Bowser Jr and potentially the Koopalings. While this isn't nearly as many, each have a far wider variety of hax that are accessible just by themselves; i.e., they don't rely on any outside sources, objects or machinery that could be tampered. Admittedly, I don't have perfect knowledge of both, so I may be wrong, but idk.
I got Eggman. Also high diff. Bowser's certainly got the base stats, low-to-mid tier army, and low-level hax to take an early lead; although I think Eggman would already take intelligence and either tie for Speed or take that too in this early stage. Once everyone starts breaking out their multiverse-scaled super forms though; I kind of think Eggman ties or takes stats across the board. Assessments of how high-end Mario & Sonic compare cosmology-wise tend to range from "they tie" to "Sonic's is about 1 Dimension better". But even if you tie them for raw power on this level, Eggman kind of takes it anyway because he, Metal, & Sage all have low-complex multiverse-tiered forms or equipment. Bowser's side just has Bowser. From there Bowser's only real shot of closing the fight in his victory lay in his bar of tricks and hax. And it's a very impressive bag, don't get me wrong; Bowser definitely has an edge here. But Eggman's no slouch here either, easily matching Bowser for quality if not quantity; and if he's really given everything, then I haven't seen a hax-y wincon for Bowser that Eggman doesn't have _some_ answer too. (Some of those answers are a bit unconventional; but enough intelligence & reaction speed should still make them viable, and those are base Eggman's best areas.) It'll take everything he's got to beat everything Bowser's got; but I really think Eggman pulls through more often than he doesn't.

I think it comes down to bowser with the Dreamstone and the star rod, and Eggman with the Phantom Ruby or some other OP form I don’t know about.
