    Great explanation on how the drainage and water management works on your earthship.

    Really helpful video. I'm currently looking somewhere outside of Pittsburgh in a climate similar to yours. Drainage is definitely a critical issue. Many thanks!

    I popped in earphones, it wasn't that hard to follow. good insight for non-dessert climates.

    What kind of trouble did you have obtaining permits to build this earthship in upstate NY?

    Monsieur Gendron, s'il vous plait, est-ce-que vous enverrez le message suivant à Chad...Merci
    Perhaps now that you have augmented the design with hardscape plans you can also look to add biological solutions that will help soak up some of the water. (i.e. the gravel filled trenches with reeds/thirsty plants)...Also I'm curious if Michael Reynolds has found adaptations for parts of the world that deal with monsoonal flooding.

    Could we see an update video of the finished home ten years later?

      Sadly we are not onsite anymore, but we'll see if that would be possible! Thanks for the idea :)

    How do you deal with humidity in earth cooling tubes?
    And indoors

    • @solutionera
      @solutionera  2 года назад

      Hello! Since earthships are litterally in the middle of the desert, cooling tubes don't generate much humidity in that context. This part should be well thought and adapted for other climates.

    How did it work out? Does a little gravel filled drainage ditch keep the earthship stable and upright?

    How did this work out? Did you get water in the cooling tubes? How was the runnoff?

      MrsMika It's for melting snow and ice on the roof for collection even during the winter.

    How do you deal with condensation in the earth tube?

    Wondering why you couldn’t have realized that your camera’s mic wouldn’t be picking up very well the voice of the person you interviewed since he was not so close to the camera? Especially as he walked away. Have you not heard of wireless mics to attach to your subject?
