  • Steve Kerr joins SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt as he reflects on the emotions "The Last Dance" brought back for him as he watched the documentary on his teammate Michael Jordan. Kerr says no one can grasp how difficult it was for Jordan to lead the Bulls as well as he did and says winning the NBA Finals got more and more difficult every season as the bullseye grew on their back. Kerr adds that in the next episode with the focus on Dennis Rodman, people will discover that he was actually very quiet and "cool" as a teammate. Lastly, Kerr says he does not think he would have ever been the coach of the Golden State Warriors if it wasn't for playing with Jordan on the Bulls.

I'm really glad they are giving Pippen his credit and Jordan himself is giving him the credit. Takes a grown man to be second fiddle to a superstar for so much years and still excel.

People don’t know Scottie Pippen was third in mvp voting behind David Robinson and Hakeem the very next season Jordan retired. Scottie would have been a supperstar. He’s equivalent to a Kawhi or PG13 in the modern day.
He got more votes than Shaq and Ewing that year, impressive.

@Ulysses432 your statements are truer than you realize my friend! i went to the hospital to have my baby on april 9, 1997. to keep my mind off of the delivery/contractions, we watched the bulls. i saw them beat the pacers, but i got wheeled out for emer c-section when the next game started. i must've been *really* stressed about it bc when my baby was delivered, the nurses told me that i had a boy, and the bulls beat the knicks! 😂

one more thing each team during during MJ era has been planning and kept findin way to stop Jordan every time they will play against bulls. and yet MJ always getting away with a win. and many of those game MJ manage to make a clutch shot and make Bulls win. thats whybi just dont get it why some people always trying to take the credit from jordan some say if wasnt for pippen jordan will never win a championship. for me im not taking away some credit from pippen because he is truly helped MJ win those championship but pippen may not be in his status today if he didnt join bulls and became jordan teammates. jordan is the main reason why bulls earn thise championship and they cannot take it away from him. in those era their attention is always on stopping MJ alone.

I love them going through the tunnel for the intro then the announcer "from North Carolina". There's some old heads in on it who know what we're looking for. That doc gets those juices going again. He was so different. We took it for granted after a while. It's the 4th quarter so of course Jordan has 28. The thing I'm not sure everybody knows is he almost never just put up a shot. Every possession the path of greatest difficulty was the first option. His stamina for pure work was impossible to fathom. People see highlights and go "wow he has some great highlights". He was like that almost every time he touched the ball. You could play that hyper-intense intro whenever he got the ball.
Jordan in the playoffs was the 3rd best overall and best non-Philadelphia watch in sports history for me and I go back to Rick Barry shooting free throws underhand and making 90% of them. Other top 6. 6. Barry Sanders on Thanksgiving, 5. Lynn Swann and the Steel Curtain against Cliff Branch and the No Moral Compass defense, 4. Bird's Celtics against Magic's Lakers in the finals, 2. '70's Philadelphia Flyers when Dave Schultz wasn't embarrassing the city, 1. Ali Frazier, who I shook hands with in front of his gym on Broad Street 34 years ago and it's still one of the highlights of my life.

Jordan’s upbringing shouldn’t be overlooked. That’s where his competitive spirit and alpha mentality to become the greatest came from. You can tell Lebron was raised by his momma which explains his insecurities and lack of killer instinct, same goes for KD.

    Greatness doesn’t happen by coincidence.
Guy like Steve Kerr doesn’t just happen to be apart of the 2 Greatest Teams of All Time.
Playing withJordan, going through that 72-10 is something that he’s able to use as a HC.
It’s takes a whole team to Win and especially when teams are breaking & setting records 73-9
It took 1 of the top 5 GPOAT, more like top 2 that was in a Zone on a mission to come back & set record of his own, but that 73-9 is surrounded by Rings and 1 Win away from achieving 1 theirselves.
LeBron, Kyrie , K Love , Jefferson & The Cavs were on a mission and achieved it.
1 of the Greatest Finals of All Time was 16.
We’ll look back and appreciate it even more when we realize the history of what it really was, with 2 of the GPOAT on oppo teams in the middle of a SUPER DOPE 4 Yr Battle.
    That ish was Dope.
They had to go & get KD after that. Lol
The Spurs went all the way while Kerr was there too.
He’s a guy that can put a close team over the edge with being able to hit the pressure 3’s when the Super Star GOAT players believe in him & don’t just kick out the rock to him but actually look for Kerr when that double & even triple teams are coming @ Jordan & Duncan in the BiGGEST SITUATIONS.
Recognize. Greatness is not a coincidence.

Im glad Steve Kerr set the record straight, saying now it looks easy because of Jordan's, and the a Bull's dominance, but wasn't. They had to dig deep. In essence, going through a league where hand checking, roughness, and some of all the great all time players played, all at one time. Some young people I talk to are beginning to make light of that now, because of seeing only the highlights of those days, not really being old enough too see complete games, and seasons. We watched Jordan, the Bulls bring under submission a league stacked with talent, and more physical. I love my childhood, and seeing these games on regular TV , but no disrespect to today's NBA,but the officiating and today's game is watered down, making some players seem very very good, or great , when there only just "good, and some are ok". But not "great"... the great players who prevailed in a tougher league back then,& I feel really earned their stripes... So to be great in Jordan's era, meant you were really really good, or great.
    No bs.
