This video has become a lot bigger and more controversial than I expected. I purely made this video for fun and had no ill-intention towards anything while making it. Yes, the first few minutes of it are fairly negative, but it was just a reaction to the game. Needless to say, AFTER I started playing it, I started to have genuine fun and I was hoping it would be obvious that I came into this expecting an Overwatch clone, but found a lot more than that. I'm also aware of how long Paladins has been in production, etc etc.
I had a lot of fun and I'm upset that people aren't seeing that, but I understand why if people only watched the first few minutes. Needless to say, please enjoy the video or at least skip around before flaming me and telling me things I already know like that I was playing with bots (lol). Also, I plan on making more paladins videos in the future which will all be positive. I honestly had genuine fun playing this game and I wish more people could tell, but again, I understand why not. NEVERTHELESS, have a good day and look forward to more videos~

No worries, this is the first video I've seen from you, and i could tell from the sound of your voice that you were actually having fun.
There's only so many concepts for video games that can even exist, so ideas and concepts are going to overlap between games. Just look at every Call of Duty clone ever made... they all still have their own fun and unique qualities. It isn't fair that CoD became the Go-To comparison for that thing.

Just a note, Overwatch and Paladins were both released on the same year and a few months apart, it is seriously just a huge coincidence because there is no way a gaming company could copy everything in a few months. Another example the Overwatch character Mei was released later then Paladins champion Eve.

We hit that point in gaming where you can't really have 'original' ideas anymore. There's really only so many abilities or characters you can have in existence that will be different before they start sharing similar traits.

they make it pretty obvious. bots usually stand still and run into the wall. also if you watch their gameplay, they snap to players and don't move fluidly. they also have generic laser-tag names.
i know they don't state it anywhere but its pretty obvious

Well turns out the development of Paladins started BEFORE the development of Overwatch. It was just a funny coincidence that they both came out at the same time. Let's just say the Free-to-Play and the deck mechanic from Paladins is quite attractive because it makes every characters unique. But in essence saying that this game is like Overwatch is an invalid statement since it started before it, and that Overwatch's inspirations came from an old game, Global Agenda that was made by Hi-Rez, developper of Paladins. Both are awesome, have both their own mechanic, universe and appeal and Paladins is still in Beta and the developpers are listening closely to their players and it is now almost fully playable. So if you want to try it if you are curious it is Free To Play on PC, Xbox One and PS4 :)
Have fun Overwatch and maybe future Paladin Players !

psy : Well looking around and their constant bashing were made of lies when you think of it. Unfortunately for Paladins the Game was out AFTER Overwatch, even if the development started before and that some characters like Skye, Evie, Barik, Androxus were made BEFORE Sombra, Mei, Torbjorn, Reaper. Yet some characters are pretty unique from both franchises : Junkrat, Ana, D.Va, Winston, Tracer, Lucio, Mal'Damba, Willo, Seris, Torvald, Pip, Sha Lin...
At this point it's just bashing Paladins for the fun of it. I mean I can clearly see players comment on how shitty the game is... But actually didn't play it.
But I am pretty surprised to see this as a one-sided point of view, I rarely see Paladins Players bashing Overwatch.
But let's be honest : Even if Overwatch is a priced game and that I don't feel like spending money on it I like to follow the game, they both plays the same yet both have their own universe, their own mechanics and objectives, their own appeal. Feeling the need to point out the other game for fun is just plain sad. Just enjoy your game and respect the other players. And one thing nice is that both are updated regularly and aren't pay to win (Even with the deck mechanic on Paladins, having all the cards isn't a necessity and you can get them pretty early). So why bother making a fuss and looking like a weirdo ?
