Idk if you know this but the effects loop send is trs. You can use a stereo breakout cable and it will preserve any stereo effects before the effects loop block. Edit: Russian Big Muff, in on the right, out on the left. Plus they're top mounted.
Guitar have the cable coming out of right hand side of guitar and go traditionally into right hand side of the pedal rib so as not to cross the cable under your feet Stomp cable left to right But in the west we read left to right and most interface gui are left to right Hope that makes sense
Jimmy, perhaps you could do a video dedicated to the cabling aspects of the Helix series and using the FX loop vs. sepearet send and return blocks. I'm adding the Plethora X5 into the effects loop on a Stomp XL. I've spent days trying to use the stereo FX loop before (I think) I figured out that the return jacks on my Stomp XL are both TS! I knew that my send path was stereo, but I was only getting the left channel back. Diagnosing this is complicated by the default Mix for these blocks being less than 100%, so some non-effect signal was passing through. I had to order another cable, so I will know for sure when it arrives. Also placing the FX loop is important or you can end up summing the path to mono. Thanks for all of your helpful videos.
@@HeyWorshipLeader i've always wondered why input and ouput never followed the reading direction, it's always been confusing for me. I've never felt disoriented by this on hx edit on the other side :')

Yeah! It wouldn't be a problem if you have another way to record. I don't. And as easy as it is to go from the Stomp to the computer, I don't think I'll be spending money of recording gear any time soon.
Yep, it’s painful. In the pod hd500 there was an option the flip the interface to resemble a pedal board Can’t believe we’re 3 full FW versions and they haven’t added that
Great video👍 But how about if I want to put in the fx loop block some analog pedals: comp-drive-chorus-tremolo and then I still need to plug in analog delay and reverb pedal placing them after an amp block and before a cab?
there is only one fx loop in the hx stomp...so you'd have to choose. I usually just decide to put pedals that go in front of the amp directly in front of the HX Stomp altogether
Are amp and cab blocks not mono? That would be really cool. I always thought having anything stereo before a Mono Block gets summed to Mono. So having a stereo effects loop in front of the mono cab would negate it from remaining stereo.
what's different between Send vs Output on hx stomp? if i connect the loop pedal to hx stomp from hx stomp output to loop pedal input, it works without putting fx loop block?
Please can teach how to plug a external dual footswitch not midi at simultanious with expression pedal on the stomp? Have you any video allready with that? Best regards thx
I haven't done that yet...but a great idea...the problem is that there is only footswitch 4 and 5 to be used. so you either have an expression and one other foot switch...or have 2 foot switches and no expression pedal...or get this that is an expression pedal with a switch built in: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SP1L6H--mission-engineering-inc-helix-expression-pedal-with-toe-switch-black-finish?mrkgadid=3344197710&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gpla&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=guitars&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=92700046937653380&lid=92700046937653380&ds_s_kwgid=58700005287237008&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007215323&dsproductgroupid=781759423570&product_id=SP1L6H&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=c&network=g&matchtype=&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9009718&creative=361266589816&targetid=aud-297527862170:pla-781759423570&campaignid=2057386243&awsearchcpc=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAs5eCBhCBARIsAEhk4r5HN7wChgpNXUcGqcPVRffuT86zx84UP74bDzCTk7xGaAse-b9GlT4aAvN5EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
hi can i put my timeline delay in fx loop ? i want to use ku hx stomp for amps and reverbs and keep my timeline on the pedaboard where should i put it in the chain? im newby here thankss
You can totally do that! Just make sure that if you want to run stereo delay, that you use a stereo “FX Loop L/R” block. And then I would play around with block placement. I typically like my delays after my amp and cabs but before my reverbs. But play around with putting it after tie Reverb if you want really clean repeats. Hope that helps
I have fx loop block problem, can somebody help me? When I use fx loop block (in stereo) it works, but it makes everything before it in mono, but everything after it work in stereo. My path send trs jack in strymon deco then stereo in SA collider then stereo in return of stomp. Thank you!
I am using a Timeline, Big Sky and Jet Revelation in the fx loop of my stomp, I was told I have to use a trs y splitter cable out of the stereo send of the stomp or I will only get one side of the signal chain. Is this true?
if you use the hx stomp external loop block for reverb, do the trails get cut off when you switch to another helix preset using the same external loop block?
Hey brother! I been using a trs cable and i can get the R side of the fx loop to have the same volume/signal than the L side. Is there something that you have to enable? I’m using a drive in L side and another in R side of the loop. I’m using them parallel. Any help can u give me?
My problem with the fx loop is that I use impulse responses instead of the stock cabs and since the irs are mono, I have to put my fx loop after the ir. And I experience tonal changes that I don’t like. Also I don’t use the fx loop. My chain in the hx stomp goes amp > ir > send > modulation > return. I have to put my modulation in between the send and return because if I go before then my modulation won’t be stereo and if I go after then my modulation will affect the pedals in my loop like my delays and reverbs.
If you use 2 IR's it can be stereo just like using 2 cabs...but I agree that's different than a dual cab block. If you have a stereo effect before your send (like your mod), just make sure to use the Stereo split Y cable. It's TRS on one end and splits to 2 TS on the other...this will retain your stereo image. Here's a link to the cable I'm talking about: EBS TRS Y Split Cable for HX Stomp Stereo FX Loop: amzn.to/34imYKQ
Whoever sneezed. Bless you.
I'm getting the stomp soon, I'm so excited, best rig for worship, I'm educating myself about it, this channel is the best for that.
That's awesome. Thank you so much!
