I'll try! unfortunately access hasn't updated the firmware to work with the new mac OS so I have to use the vst from aura plugins but if I can find a stable way to do it ill make more
I see people talk about compatibility issues for newer Macs with this software, but does it work with a windows 10 pc? sorry if noob question, I'm about to buy my first virus:)
Yes, it totally depends on how much content the sound has at those lower frequencies... and if cutting at 250-300 would lose something. If you can go higher without ruining the sound, definitely do it. If you think you need what's happening from 150-300hz one thing you can try is combining the hi pass with a low shelf. For example you could put the hipass at 200, and a shelf starting at 300, so you can pull out some of the 200-300 range but still leave enough coming through to maintain the integrity of the sound... Going further you can try making the shelf dynamic, to get even more control over those frequencies while still allowing enough to come through
Hi there What is the OS your running for the virus ? I know Mac has compatibility issues and someone uses audio grinder to run it over server with M1 Mac mini
this video was made on my old machine so the Virus still worked normally. On my new M1 machine I have been using Mystery Island, which works pretty well though its not perfectly synced all the time. Still, its better than having the TI just collect dust on my shelf www.mysteryislands-music.com/topics/virus-editor-update/
Unfortunately not. This video was recorded before I updated to a M1 Mac, however, I have been able to get the virus functioning almost perfectly on my new machine by using the Mystery Island software. A couple people have been asking about this, so I think I will make a video on it.
Would love to see a lesson on how to make this without using the software plugin that is buggy and does not work on new Mac computers. I can get it to sometimes work on Windows or an older Mac but it crashes constantly. So I resort to using the hardware user interface.

@@alexnieto12345 seriously! I dont understand how they can continue to sell new machines but not offer support for them (or keep them working on new machines) its totally insane
@@alexnieto12345 yea it's really ridiculous, the model is literally called ''Total Integration'' but then only offers the hardware part on any OSX past 2019..
My love for the Virus will never die.
Just got a Virus Ti2. This is a great little tutorial. Thanks man :)
..If you chain the OSC together on the LFO, it can add more randomization also.. Just playing around and watching the video. Thank you!!

I tend to cut leads around 300, 200hz makes them sound heavy though, it depends for you Kabayun right?

Did you find a way to use the virus with Catalina or did you just not update osx?
