The usage remained fairly consistent until around 1899, as during that year (1899) "It shifts from simple incidental use in language to referring to a specific thing. From "that theory which has a conspiracy" to "the theory that we call conspiracy theory"", and that it seemed to "move towards its current use with an implied "far-fetched" prepended." It's also popularly (and incorrectly believed by many; not saying you) to be started by the CIA in 1967. While there may be some truth to the belief that "the phrase “conspiracy theory” was popularized in the 1960s by the CIA to discredit those who dared to question the Warren Commission" is accurate, the CIA certainly did not create the term. In any case, whether you're 'woke' or not, the meaning of the term has variably changed over the decades, and the commonness has increased exponentially in the most recent 2 decades. I would argue, that the true meaning of the term/phrase is largely dependent on who is speaking about it. Medicating people to endure a life where they feel they have to stay on the hamster wheel to survive is no life. Everything is connected and the economic paradigm needs to change radically. Prof Cary Cooper is another excellent source of information.

in the economic department think Basic Income to lay a floor of civility that liberates people and balances an otherwise barbaric globalizing society. in the political department find a representative formula for democracy better than the party-system (like sortition or direct democracy) in general it is essential to organize and plan the alternatives like a pro, without relying on government.
Immediacy is the problem, Alex. Born in the fifties, we didn't have the spoils that have corrupted our world. I paid my own university costs, worked late spring and summers, took a year off working to save money, found cheap bedroom suites during the school and work year. I spent as little as possible; my focus was my future. Once working (a teacher) I put every penny possible to pay off my university debts. After debts were payed-off (4 years and a bit) I continued to save as much as possible; to spend as little as I could.... (University was not the expense then, as it is now! Criminal!) I married, but we had no children and then went our own ways. I continued to live the simple life (renting a room rather than the cost, expenses and other problems of owning, then) retiring age 60. Still I lived frugally waiting until all pensions came, age 65, but enjoying the time with no responsibilities, meditating on life, agenda-free getting used to total freedom from the rat-race. I am 68 so now I travel, continue to live in my house-trailer home in BC paradise, in a corner of Powel River, an Island in a rainforest (it rarely rains when the sun is up; three sides of the TH look at water and/or ancient forest). I have learned to be fully in charge of my life, which takes some time after years of work and even retirement, to become a-customised. I never felt so free before, which probably gave me focus and a penchant against wasting time or the penny. I have always enjoyed my time out at a movie, pubs and camping holidays, but a frugal life has given me a secure retirement with possibilities to travel the great ancient sites of our wonderful world. This December to the Pyramids I begin my visits of ancient sights that are beyond wonder! How did the ancients move those massive rocks that we cannot move today, even with our best machinery! My tale is extreme, but the trick is to think like the Chinese (I am Caucasian but like to study, learn from other cultures). So, spend as little as possible, challenge yourself, save and invest. WE never know what the future has in store . . . so save & plan for for any emergency. There are alternative possibilities to what the two chatterboxes present in this video discussion. Choose to defy the path of the herd; and be wiser from each trial on your travels in this great universe. We are, have been and will be again. This universe is all we have and it of forever: it is not expanding, not one iota of information (material is also information) is destroyed beyond change. Every moment brings change. Medicating people to endure a life where they feel they have to stay on the hamster wheel to survive is no life. Everything is connected and the economic paradigm needs to change radically. Prof Cary Cooper is another excellent source of information.
Alex, this is why my hamster ran around the room free. Surely, I had to be very VERY CAREFUL where I went in the room. She was trained to use the little toilet inside the cage. Her former cage was the bathroom. But truth be told the hamster was able to g under the door and go throughout the house. I found this out later.

in the economic department think Basic Income to lay a floor of civility that liberates people and balances an otherwise barbaric globalizing society.
in the political department find a representative formula for democracy better than the party-system (like sortition or direct democracy)
in general it is essential to organize and plan the alternatives like a pro, without relying on government.
Criminal!)
I married, but we had no children and then went our own ways.
Namaste and care,
mhikl

Loved everything I heard here but at 37:00 when they talk about the hunter gatherer as being individualistic, that’s actually incorrect. Hunter gatherer societies were always altruistic because if you and your family have killed a deer and you find some other group who’s hungry, you would feed them. This is because you couldn’t keep the meat for yourself and because someday you’ll be hungry and in need of help
Correct, Humanity survived due to the ability to collaborate. If we were to have lived in constant state of aggressive, cut throat competition, we would of never have made it out of the cave.
Peter Joseph's book The New Human Rights Movement shows a way for collaboration like that in the modern world.

Hunter gatherers practiced qualified egoism. Do for yourself before you do for others but your individual stability depends on the stability of the community for which you could not survive without so you help the people around you but that help is based on egoism.
Some food for thought there! I like the idea of small individual changes that we can all make, less consumerism and more interaction with our local communities for starters.

Drug the masses to keep them happy is Aldous Huxley's Brave New World in a nutshell.
Maybe...but I also think people are wrapped up in victim hood....the west has been addicted since the 50's consumerist pied piper turned up...medicating people on mass...was a people management decision....recently here in Australia...they banned plastic bags...people became so angry they abused and assaulted supermarket workers....so they brought plastic bags back....people have been infantised and thus act like infants...the state must find ways to deal with this....or expect unrest...if you don't think for yourself...eg grow the fuck up and deal with no spending due to low employment ....and yes I live way below the poverty line myself, then the state will provide a solution(soma)...it doesn't mean that the state holds no responsibility in creating employment....but really they shouldn't have to micro manage your emotional state....like what is happening with the opiod addiction...I do understand people on the streets dosing themselves up and rightly so...it must be a nightmare on wheels...but this is a larger population of people in housing...that arnt 'dealing' with controlling their behaviour.

Let's never forget square one, but begin there every morning :D

"I see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country... corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed." - Abraham Lincoln.
