Loved how Prince took his older songs & flipped them. 3rdeyegirl was one of his best bands, that gave his music that special edge. Prince was IMO the most talented musician/artist that ever walked this planet. He did it all, I can't think of any other artist that was on his level of genius. He was incredible!!!
Not only the best ever. But a true unicorn. Nothing like him will ever exist again. Blessed for having been on this planet at the same time as him. RIP Mr Nelson.
Yes but sad 2 me 2 look because he looks so thin in here and not exactly the same we knew years ago, he looks ill even he tried hard not to.I love him for many years and it hearts .💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I was there when Prince pro formed this magical moment what a night it was and something I can’t and won’t ever forget. I have watched this so many times and won’t ever get tired of watching this. Miss this great man it’s still hard to believe you’re no longer with us Prince and thank you for giving me memories that will live in my 💟forever.
He does it all the time. When I was young I didn't dig prince live because it didn't sound like the album but I'm 58 now and my ears have grown up and I realize how dumb I used to be
Saw this set in Manchester and even though it was the 4th time I had watched him live this tour was unbelievable. “something in the water” was gobsmacking and seeing him play guitar was amazing.
While at the paisley park after-dark parties I attended when was alive he would often play different interpretations of his hits and I always found that to be much cooler especially little red corvette as a tender ballad.
Prince reworked, slowed down and rearranged this great classic song and it sounds just as fucking great as the original and to many even better! The new part towards the end that starts @ 4:03 is just beyond amazing, it takes the song to a whole new level! ... O(+> 💜 4ever
When Prince first released this song it was completely Awesome and then he redoes this song and it's Awesome all over again My My My, rest in peace oh Awesome 1.
Some say he was the best and what not; i don't know who is or was the best, Prince was certainly the only one who could play any song the way he wanted. Like in the studio, experimental, with big band, small band, girls or guys, only piano&mic, whatever. No one comes close to this.
Love these song’s any and every way he arranged and played them he was a musical geniusAmazing and so very blessed with talent as we were to have lived to hear and experience him .Such a loss to all we needed many more year’s of him. RIP!😇!
This dude, could do this... a song Like Mountains, a song like Kiss, a song like Ballad of Dorothy Parker , a song like 4 and then turn round and do Housequake!
is it just me or is the way @2:35 he executes the 1st upstroke. so fluid and expressive . looks as if the note was struck by accident or a chin scratch. and the 2 notes that follow ! ! ! slays me
Prince's idea of a song & how he iterpet's his meaning of & how it should sound especially in a live performance is strictly the music being him & not him being the music & his relentless pursuit of perfection in his live shows & performances & with 3rd Eye Girl he achieved this very thing & with 3rdEG he was able to give us these great songs how intended these song's to sound like, take this song for instance & many other song's ( Little Red Corvette...Slow Down, The Making Of Purple Rain & all it's info about all the editing that was done in order for Purple Rain to fit on the album, Let's Go Crazy, & a host of other song's) it's much different than the album's upbeat & wicked guitar playing & this song is part of the original " Sign Of The Times " album, but didn't make the cut until the Delux version of this was released by the Prince Estate 👌😉😎

Maybe it's hindsight, but he looks stiff, like he is just going through the motions and he lets Donna do all the solos... Not the Prince we used to know... But he still managed to put on a good show.
Obviously you get more mellow with middle age and Prince in his 50s didn't have the energy, speed and acrobatics to do the splits and pike jumps he had in his 20s in the '80s. But in the '80s he did let Dez do all the solos on "Little Red Corvette" in 1982 and he let Wendy do all the solos on "When Doves Cry" live and on "Darling Nikki" live in 1984 and "Kiss" live in 1986, etc. ....
There's no need to defend this argument.... Prince re-arranged the song and was 50+ years old... To then complain about mobility is a joke. What do you want?
Don't hate it,she plays natural and is not scared to push and make mistakes just like prince do.i hear prince drop notes often in this era,his physical pain and reflexes are not helping.he burned hard and bright.later years he literally let his hair out and chilled whilst still giving great performances letting others do there thing with him.truly a master.💜💜💜

Yeah, I know people gonna say she was chosen by the purple one but she's not the best out of all compared to Prince's other guitarist. Donna is a good guitarist in her own right but I felt like she always butchered the solos with too many pull ups for trying too hard to impress Prince especially the classics. If that was Dez or even Wendy was playing them, the solos would have been much smoother and feel plus they had learned on their own naturally. Donna on the other hand, took courses in schools and is a more skill guitarist from the rest of them even Prince but she doesn't have the feel how to play an instrument. I rather listen to a natural guitarist than a skill one who is mostly considered a "guitar snob".
