the start of the Hasselblad flex camera began in Brisbane, Australia, when my friend Bryan Chester, got a Hasselblad trained local repairman and master machinist, Eric Owen, to make what was essentially the early prototype of the Flex blad. Bryan was a Master architectural photographer, well known for superb commercial building photos. anyway, when Hasselblad Sweden saw it, I believe they negotiated some 'deal' with Eric, and the result was the commercial 'swingle-blad'. Bryan is now in his 80's and living in Tasmania, but have not heard of Eric for ages, may have died some time ago.
@@nelsonclub7722 Arc Body? Did you try the 907X’s digital back? It must have simplified all the composing, focusing, metering and film-back reloading processes by using the electronic shutter?
@@chakwong Yeah I have one - it was easier and better than the Flexbody which I had first - no focusing screens and the recock of the shutter is easier too - the results are stunning - also dedicated Lee filter holder for the three available Rodenstocks - are they as sharp as an XC lens? - I would say not - but the whole thing does work very well especially with the reduced coverage on the digital back sensor which means you can push the movements to more extremes - all good
@@chakwong Hi there - I dont have the Flexbody - I used to have it - I have the Arc Body - the best videos for that - in fact it was these that inspired to me to get one - is the Hasselblad Expert from Thailand - his videos are far better than I could do!!!!! Heres is a link - there are many on his channel ruclips.net/video/kM8kq4vToxQ/видео.html
Thankyou, this is the first one done in english, as the only other youtube video that I have seen is done by an italian in his own language (with subtitles, if you select them).
I've always been curious about how much vignetting takes place with hasselblad lens movements, especially at greater degrees of tilt. I imagine you lose large portions of the image area with any significant degree of tilt.
Carl, do you know if there are there some lenses in which the image circle is large enough to not crop the full frame or do all the Hasselblad lenses crop to some extent ? Thank you.
I love the music. I’ve died and gone to Hasselblad heaven where this nice old man will explain obscure camera things to me for all eternity.

Carl!! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful camera!!
This would work amazingly well the digital back that comes with the 907x. Cool tech, thanks for sharing.
It does - although I later swapped it for the Arc Body - Rodenstocks are epic on this

Can it get any more complicated? 😅

You can find them on eBay or other auction sites. It is no longer manufactured.
