I have the same mower that is mint and paid $40 for. Guy bought it new in 92 and used it 1 season and said it broke. I put a fuel solenoid and battery and plug and drove it on my trailer. His reaction was priceless.

I had your type of back problem for years, very severe pain. Even went to a pain doctor for shots and radio frequency ablation. I discovered the large ice packs from Walgreens and it was like a miracle. You just have to get your lower back cold enough for long enough to get the inflammation to go away. It was a life changer.

Thanks Jerry, but my back hurt because I twisted it, I don’t normally have back issues, plus I was in the floor trying to open the darn tranny.

You know what you need to invest in next right? An Oxy Acetylene torch, so your not fighting rusted on pulley's like that and the infamous frozen rim on lawn tractor trans axle's, etc.
I just got mine a few months ago. It makes life so much easier.

Heat up the bottom hub and press a candle on the top till u see the wax bubbling. Then heat it some more and use a flywheel puller. Works everytime.

I dont really like air tools either, but I get soooooo many engines with seized blade adapters and henry I'm telling you the air hammer is the best tool you can use for it. I can sit there with a hammer for an hour and it wont even move, but the air hammer will just slide it off. I do about 3 a week, I dont know what I'd do without it

hey bonus the pump works on that pressure washer, and also looking at u taking apart that spicer trans it look like my murray one when i took it apart with the moisture on it same discolor in the gears and wont shift even after getting a new shifter link because it wore the squire out like the grease went dry from the seals more than likely my trans is doneski also :(

If I didn't damage it while removing the pulley, if it all get pressure washed and reassembled with new grease, it may have worked...but I already swapped the tranny, I just tore it apart to see inside is all.

@@MowersNBlowers I've also done my own Oppy swap on a DYT 4000 along with the stator swap larger automotive battery, voltage gauge, (eBay cheap), and smaller 38" deck. I've also swapped to taller tires all the way around, new fuel system rear tank to carb and have started on my GT 6000 with exactly the same steering teeth broken. I've already ordered the part but am considering the weld repair as I have a good friend that welds for a living. I saw the mistake on the belt routing before you did and was wondering how you would figure it out. I'm glad to know you can reverse the routing to fix it. I'm using a B&S Opposed Horizontal for mine. I may do the stator swap on it as well. You should find an old mid 70's Suburban to fix up and keep. You will not regret the plain heavy duty feel of those real garden tractors. I have 4 now to improve, repower, and set up for different roles in my little area. And BTW, nothing beats grading! My 76 Suburban SS16 has both original blades front and rear and people here at the house ask me why I'm always grinning when I'm grading my driveway...LOL. YOU know why now! Enjoy the channel.
