- GREAT stuff from Bob D. at an AA speaker meeting earlier this year! He is one of my favorite AA speakers and in this tape he shares on the topic of the first two steps. I LOVE the stories he tells as he recounts his personal experience, and also uses vivid and powerful metaphors to describe suffering from alcoholism. He then goes on to talk about the second step, and how he "Came to believe a Power Greater Than Himself could restore him to sanity." AWESOME share on steps one and two! Enjoy! :)
This tape is part of a workshop. You can listen to it in its entirety here: • Bob D. - AA Speaker - ...
The Twelve Step Model has been utilized as a treatment for alcohol abuse and alcoholism since 1935. It is extremely important to know that help IS out there and addiction recovery is possible. If you are battling alcoholism, drug addiction, addiction or any other form of addictive behavior, there are people who know EXACTLY what it is like!
You can find out more at: www.aa.org - Alcoholics Anonymous Official Site - As should be blatantly obvious, we are in no way affiliated with them or any other Twelve Step Program. We are just looking to provide hope to those suffering from alcoholism or addiction.
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her alcohol abuse treatment. Substance abuse is a very serious condition and has become an epidemic in today's world. Many people suffering with substance abuse need treatment, such as inpatient stays, rehab, or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction issues. Help IS out there!
From the book Alcoholics Anonymous: "In spite of the great increase in the size and span of this Fellowship, at its core it remains simple and personal. Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope."
Every tape is carefully selected to ensure its quality and that it is entertaining to listen to. You can trust Odomtology 12-Step Recovery Media to be synonymous with the best online recovery material out there. QUALITY is our mission. This is why we have such a large and engaged following. I will never forget when he said "if you ever have to rationalize, explain, or justify what you are doing, you are wrong!! Cause never have justify nor explain what you are doing that is right." I will live by this through my recovery!!! Thank you Bob D. And God bless you fam.
One of the best speakers I have ever heard!!!!
One of the best speakers of all time thank you Bob 🙏
Bob D is my great grand sponsor. I love AA and what it has done to me and for me. Sober since May 1, 2014
Same here guess were like 4th cousins lol
I am Margot and I am an alcoholic. I love this message, it took me eleven years to surrender to Step One and get it completely. I celebrate my one year on Feb. 25 2015, If you are here, and struggling, keep coming back. It works. A simple program, but don't confuse simple with easy. Love to all my friends in the fellowship and thank you to AA and my HP for my sobriety. My medallion says one word WE. Without the W E I couldn't do it.
How many years sober now
I lived thus. Been going to AA 10 months and I can't seem to get it. I keep trying and advance a little more each time.
@@suzannecolley8463 I hope you're at a better place now. I was in AA 2 full years before I "got" it.
@@dionel8 I am getting there. Struggling with handing it over although I have believed in God most of my life. I am on day 4. Just passed an exam and now my brain is thinking..."celebrate". I know I will get there. God's helped so many, He will help me if/when I totally surrender.
Mugsy, how are you doing now?
Digitally enhancing the audio, the rest of the talk will be up later today (8+ hours). Thank you for listening and blessings to you and yours! Namaste :)
Great. I'd listen to it again. I'm here in India. Sober 11 years. This made me sit up. Thanks to all who made this possible starting with Bob D.
Bob basically speaks my story perfectly here...we are very alike
Me too, and I have a food addiction. It stil resonates
I'm not an alcoholic. Im like Bob's sister who stops drinking the minute it starts feeling good! That being said, I have the discontent, the ego all of it! I listen to Bob's talks and they help me. It's my work to do...to surrender...
Love Bob D. how someone could "dislike" this is beyond me. Wonderful, hope-filled message!
Man I am in Las Vegas trying to do this program on my own because I feel there is no SOBERITY in Vegas . I randomly pick this video and it is the best , and in the middle of it he says he lives in VEGAS! God works!< if you let it , WIsh I new where his meetings are!!!!!!
Here is the group in Vegas, blessings to you and yours! :) www.lvcentraloffice.org/?q=node/1264
good luck on Doing Program On Your Own!
@@Healyourself2013 yeah...... a much needed new experience is necessary....a complete psychic change
I got sober in Vegas. Bob's there just ask someone at a meeting.
Bobs my favourite 🎉❤
The sun is much bigger than the earth, but just a few clouds can change a sunny day into a gloomy day. Great comments, Bob.
The interesting thing about this video is that he described me so well as a drinker, quitting jobs, putting alcohol ahead of priorities, family, friends, etc. But what I realized also was that many of my "friends" are in the advanced stages of alcoholism as well and this constant cycle and ruining their own friendships one by one. I have also realized that many of my "friends" were never friends, just drinking buddies. I started seeing me separate myself from them while drinking and them separating themselves from me probably for the same reasons.
Love it
Wow bob ds share has absolutely blown me away 😮
Thank God for AA
Love this guy
I sit in my speaker meetings tuesday nights, regretting Im not home listening to Bob D.
So spot on!!! Thank God for Bob D.
Oh my God....how can someone dislike
Bob D is the GOAT, along with Sandy B
In my experience, I receive a tremendous spiritual connection with the Holy Spirit, my Higher Power in church.
I love this speaker
For the record, it is my opinion after attending NA meetings, alcoholics are drug addicts. Alcohol is a drug.
That is something I believe as well. So many meetings that I have gone to, AA and NA, and they are so closed minded about this. I am planning on trying to educate people on this concept.
I've been sober for 8 years this September I'm from Bradford Pennsylvania
1:35 powerful to end
Good for you
Thank you Bob
Thank you Jerry
Bob D. Has saved my soul!!!
He’s not a soul savor that’s that God he talks about being afraid to believe in!
One of my heroes. This is 2012 in Adelaide Australia
Odomtology. Thanks very much for taking the time to post these. I really appreciate what you do.
great inspiration from this speaker thanks....
Good message and if one has the time, they have walked the walk even if we all suffer from the egomania with the inferiority complex syndrome
Love Bob D's talks. His experience strength and hope have helped me to remain sober and begin on my own path to becoming a useful servant of God. I can really identify with Bob. We are very similar creatures . I recently had the opportunity to listen to him in person a couple of weeks ago in Indian Rocks Beach Florida. What a wonderful experience. Keep rowing the boat Bob!
..how beautiful.
Thank you! and happy anniversary!
I love how bob calls silkworth silky😊
Inside ,he's spot on .boom
so many people in AA today that are NOT real alcoholics...
it's OK though ...we are sure our way of life has its advantages for
all
but it does cause a problem when they try to sponsor real alcoholics
thank you for that Prayer
Love listening to Bob. He makes the solution relatable. But there’s only one i in Westminster Bob. I cringe every time I hear it and I’m American. The brits probably want to scream!
Could you please post a link to the rest of this talk? I don't see it listed on the side bar. Thank you.
It is in the video description :) Here is the link, blessings to you and yours! ruclips.net/p/PLuSJRom1_4kCvQCCt6IpaSGfCg96PE5hR

Thank you ❤aa
Can anyone tell me where I can find an MP3 download of Came to Believe and Living Sober. I have the paperbacks but I want to listen to them while I exercise.
+Tim Shafer I've searched all over and all I can find are ebooks. I'm tempted to record myself reading it but I haven't got a quality mic. Hope you find something in the meantime. God bless.
which video is the rest of this talk??
✨
What does he mean by "its not a lack of faith, but a lack of power" that causes someone to continue to drink.
Lack of mental strength, POWER
Please how to get this in polish language?
