Most humbly, sabaar is not patience per se. It is dealing with loss or a problem with a hope that later is going to be better. Those who do not do sabar, consider end has come when a loss hits him. In Quran, Allah says after the problem is respite. Next life will be better then this life. In short, sabaar allows us to see light at the end of tunnel.

We always forget the role the tongue plays in earning the pleasure of Allah SWT and we fall into these myths the sister mentioned, misunderstanding sabr...thanks to the sister I can now see how clearly we pursue path of error by acting like we are God (stoich and denying our emotion) we are human and should act human but control our speech.
And also the note of passivism, as Muslims Allah gave us conciousness so if we know of wrong happening we should not be silent and call that sabr, it may actually be kufr instead we should make action, speak up and Trust Allah.

I think there's value in what sister is sharing here, although for that quote from Surah Yaqub it's a little bit shaky. There's mention of Muumin not fearing or grieving in the quran, which I deduce is by function of Imaan and wish for the akhirah. While we certainly shouldn't tolerate "drinking poison" or letting our house burn down, I think Sabr is about the wisdom of possessing simultaneous contentment (awareness of Qadr) and absence of complacency.

The Footnotes Leading to the Foothills to Sabr : ( صَبْرٌ ) Patience ! ..
The 3 Level definition of 'Sabr' ...
    1. Patience in obeying Allah (swt) (Sabr 'Ala Al-Ta'a) ...
    2. Patience in abstaining from the forbidden (Sabr 'An Al-Ma'siyyah) ...
    3. Patience in the face of adversity (Sabr 'Ala Al-Ibtila)
The Heart to Attain what it Desires needs both 'Patience and Perseverance' ... given it comes with many Benefits and Rewards !
    For 1st Instance :
The Prophet Muhammad RAS (pbuh) had tears in His eyes when Ibrahim (as) son passed away.
He also got tired of the afflictions and even cried out especially to the "divine responsiveness".
“When will the help of Allah be near?” and Allah (swt) replied to them “help is near”.
    For 2nd Instance :
The Prophet Muhammad RAS (pbuh) : said that the "Patience is illumination".
The one who's beloved ones or relatives die and endures patiently,
Allah will also admit him to Paradise as a recompense of his patience.
    “As-Sabr (the patience) is illumination.”
    [Muslim 223].
Happy Endings for those who trust Allah (swt) and His Angles (as) will say :
"Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And excellent is the final home".
This "divine response" was given because of the level of 'Sabr' which made Him content and satisfied and never questioned.
Teaching us to be content with whatever Allah (swt) has Decreed for us.

The Footnotes Leading to the Foothills to Sabr : ( صَبْرٌ ) Patience ! ..
'Sabr ( صَبْرٌ ) is an admirable quality.
This is because it helps us connect with Allah (swt) in the face of all unexpected and unwanted outcomes.
It is with 'patience' with should speak and act upon the truth and to ensure and endure with strength through hardships.
So, to be mindful and be patience when dealing with unexpected and unwanted results is an 'Act of Worship' .
In Islam the meaning of 'Sabr' ( صَبْرٌ ) is one of the two parts of Faith teaching us to remain spiritually steadfast !
'Sabr ' ( صَبْرٌ ) : reminds us to keep doing good actions in the personal and collective domain of our 'spiritual life'.
This specifically applies when faced with opposition or encountering problems and setbacks.
The second part 'Shukr' (شكر ) is a term is used when Allah (swt) is the subject.
Which means thankfulness or gratitude as s highly esteemed virtuous being and the "divine responsiveness" is from Allah (swt).

The Psychological Impacts : of Human Behaviour and People with Complex Issues ! ...
For instance : People who suffer 'abuse' at the hands of other peoples expense and get brain washed with negative feeling.
These people are those who use others as an escape from their own 'sexual desires' and temptation just to make money,
to call it family and not Religion.
The Man of the House !
The strong 'minded person' who does not take heed but is persistently 'painted' in a 'bad light'.
The insecurity she pushes on him in order for him to push back and for him to put him into attack mode.
When questioned about others who have 'attacked' his emotional begin and then he has to justify his role as a 'player'.
Question : The Man of the House or House of Man ?
This 'toxic women' aim seems to be that she thinks she represents all who are alien to her Religion & Politics,
also culture to alienate others who are not. And the motive for the others to 'attack' was the goal to make their money.
And write others off as having 'mental health' problems. (and not Religious Beliefs such as Islam ) because of the media.
Therefore some might believe this is because of 'racism' and envy' and secretly their plan and plot,
for their 'Warfare' tactics. As they have a bad reputation as nasty mindless 'alcoholics' making pocket money for,
their package holidays in their spare time. Bringing in their experts and trainees for a job and a career as Doctors,
and Psychologists even some people on 'Police pay'. To justify their 'plan of action' and paperwork,
also without understanding of another culture and language better still Islam.
Concluding these 'toxic people' use their professional pay to educate their family and play off other 'people' ,
for their so called family values. But deep inside their knowing of the other people who are making their money,
using them as a 'piggy backing' scheme.
So, maybe its him or his mind playing tricks on him ... as he finds himself praying on his knees,
they bring him closer to them only to leave him with those who they know have been bad to him.
Therefore He takes the 'Footnotes Leading to the Foothills' to Sabr : ( صَبْرٌ ) and with Patience as it is an Admirable Quality.

I pity some of these Modern Muslim preachers. Sometimes you don’t even get the option to save your house from burning even though judgemental little Muslims might think so.

Salam Sistr, i hope you read it and take it as a constructive criticism. I am a member of MCMC Community. Since i had realized your last name, i have watched and listened few of your lectures in social media and when you recently came to MCMC i noticed that you are very humble like a married muslim woman and not like some of our scholars so arrogant. Here i just wanted to let you have a few things in mind to think about it. When you plan an event and naming it anything other than Islamic names and if it is not in opposition to islam, it is okay and halal to make mone. Using a Masjid’s space and account i hope that you have been paying for that Masjid. It has been interesting for me since i begun knowing your last name Mughahid and in the same time knowing your books’ title “Love”, “reclaim your heart”, “ “ mistake in romantic love” and healthy way of loving and unhealth way of loving …” that is right a book should not be judge by its cover but a title can tell a lot about a book & story. All these terms and titles are being practically used by non-muslims in their daily life and that is also well understood by most of single YMs, so mentioning these titles and products with these kind of titles in a Islamic gathering which includes so many YMs and selling them to YMs in a Masjid without confirming with an Amam might be not much helpful. ”

when wronged by others; people say, it’s okay, nothing to worry about, it’s normal, it happens. It’s our fault if they have wronged us.
When take stand ; they say,Oh, it’s wrong, nobody do so. You have to accept it. Things will get better by themselves. You have nothing to do, just serve the wrong doer and obey..

Isn’t sabr when we are compelled to wait it out making dua and having full trust in Allah when we have no control or power over the situation until Allah swt changes the situation, needless to say we keep making dua and keep doing whatever is possible within our limited capabilities
the speaker has given an overly-simplistic definition of sabr, what if someone has mental illness / depression / anxiety etc and he/she can’t take practical steps to better their situation, would that person be guilty of not making sabr? What if a parent has one sibling who is off the rails, on drink/drugs etc despite the parents continuous duas and advising and guiding the sibling and the situation still goes from bad to worse, is the parent guilty of not making sabr?
Sometimes people exaggerate their grief, crying and wailing loudly so naturally people tell them to ‘make sabr’ to subdue them a little bit… nobody is saying it’s haram to express grief by crying
Wish I could see the audience, from the style of speaking one would think the speaker is addressing a kindergarten group

@darattaqwa Now you went very far in another direction .Yasmin didn't talk about these extremes like pulling hair out ,but merely crying versus having stone face.Even then, there could be people who process their emotions differently like people mental health issues. .And you learn to humble yourself and learn basic rules of politeness which are essence of Islam ..You insulted audience which came to listen to this beautiful lecture as those of kindergarten level .That's displays you as highly arrogant person

    • @darattaqwa
      @darattaqwa Год назад

@@rosannatimars8 first of all I replied to YOUR comment directed to ME, asking how grief could be exaggerated, I wast referring to anything the speaker said so my reply was exclusively for you, Second of all you show your true intentions for posting the comment to me which is you were upset about my comments to the speaker (i.e. you were upset I ‘insulted’ the speaker), I would respect you more if you were honest and sincere and had simply said that in your initial comment instead of trying to argue about something you don’t have knowledge about (exaggerated grief - crying loudly, screaming, wailing, pulling hair and clothes, you get the idea)
And to clarify I wasn’t insulting the speaker nor the assembly, I was just stating the fact it’s a very simplistic definition of sabr, and the style of speech is patronising, condescending, I don’t know, maybe the audience was predominantly reverts / new Muslims
I apologise if I was rude or arrogant, and I respect you for defending your teacher whom you clearly have great love for 🙏
Now to show there’s no hard feelings, may I humbly request you make special duas for your sinful, cocky, arrogant British brother in Islam that Allah changes his ways

I completely agree with your comment. This indeed is a very simplistic and shallow speech completely disregarding that Allah always put some of us in a situation where the only one who can help our situation is Allah alone. Let us all follow Islam according to what we learn about it. Islam is not dependent on any scholars interpretation to live our life. We don’t know who can misguide us and take us toward the wrong path. As Muslims we should be really careful.

I know there would be people contradicting but I have to say it to make Muslims aware
Women should do dawah to women and men should do dawah to men
A woman displaying her face and voice on a social media platform is not Islamic even if she is teaching Islam. Even Aisha (RA), may Allah be pleased with her, used to tell Hadiths, used to give Islamic teachings but she never used to display her face and voice in public.
Some may argue that women if fully covered can talk publicly. But my dear Muslim brothers and sisters, that is only when it becomes absolutely necessary, and this is not a necessity because there are already enough men to give dawah.
