I think Veronica and Tia may be those queens like Trixie and Katya, who didnt win their seasons but go on to be wildly successful. They are pretty well loved by fans, are talented and driven. I hope we see a lot more from them.
Veronica was kind of getting some hate from the fans (for being basic... it's so infuriating I know) but after last episode, everybody was actually sad for her and wanted her to stay longer. I'm happy the show at least gave her a good edit at the end and I hope that both become the new Trixie and Katya as you say.
Lots of love for both Veronica and Miss Tia. I think it's important to talk about depression and financial difficulty - something so many face with the ups and downs of life. It's incredibly hard to not have any money - and terrifying, discouraging, and embarrassing. But it's important to point out these things can happen to the best of people despite our best efforts. Veronica's resilience and courage are more than admirable. And of course, Tia is one of the most engaging RPDRUK participants - period.
Veronica is such a sweetheart. It seems Drag Race should have kept her at least a bit longer considering the massive expenditure they demanded of her during these trying times. She demonstrated her talent on her first season, so they knew what she had in her.
I agree 100%, and was completely shocked that she went home. Was she the worse this week, yes and was she the best at the lip sink, no but plenty of time the person who did the worse has won the lip sink just because of what they have to offer. Also Vanity was safe week one, and btm two twice, she probably won’t stick around much longer, where as we know Veronica is a damn good performer and almost won the week before. I think the only reason they eliminated her then, is because they knew it would be a shock and we would be talking about it or they are planing on bringing her back, and wanted the gag of her being eliminated. Which is still shady.
@@dontstopmeow5757 I think 2 things are about to happen and they have to do with either a double sashay, or Victoria's coming back? Ru gave that hint about us not seeing the last of her.
I feel like if drag race is gonna continue to put so much emphasis on the runways they should give the queens a budget for looks before the season so everyone can come in at a more equal level 🤷🤷
Veronica was being very kind with her statement about DR "skewing towards elitism." It's been elitist for a while. When Michelle tells queens like Chi Chi or Monique that it doesn't matter how much money they have. Like sure they agreed to come onto the show, and you have queens like Yvie and Ra'jah who've proved you can make it far while w/o spending thousands, but the money that the show essentially requires these ppl to spend is getting to scary levels.
Remember what they did to Willam?! Had him spend thousands to prepare for all stars and had him canceling his gigs.. then cancelled on him last minute.
I think what needs to be acknowledged as well though when people bring up Ra'jah as an argument for queens not needing to spend thousands on designers.... that's because Ra'jah IS the designer, she's obviously not gonna pay herself. She's clearly at a sewing level above the average queen, so holding other queens to her standard is kind of unfair?
"oh well what have you done? you've done nothing" "yeah. because I was depressed [and broke]" ooofft, I feel this HARD. So much respect for Veronica for speaking up about it ❤️
Awhora is just projecting her problems on Veronica because she literally is just a genuine person. I like both queens but awhora needs to grow up and stop being a bully
I always think about that comment Michelle gave to Chi Chi, when Chi Chi tried to explain, she doesn't have the money to look like the other queens and had to make everything from scratch. Michelle said "you don't have to have money to be successful in your career". I mean she is right in some points. Yeah, fortune doesn't buy you personality or talent or whatsoever, but the main problem is that the show leads to the point, that however you did on the maxi challenges...the runways are higher rewarded. Some queens, who did poorly in challenges, could get a safe by doing a great runway. And here is the problem: Neither everyone is a sewer nor a designer. Some of them have ideas, but the designer and a whole team of artist go into the runways. And that costs a lot of money. Gottmik for example had, for my opinion, the best and wellthought runways...she looked incredible and made it far in the competition. But I'm sure, he must've paid like over 100k to look like that...so what's the point anyway?
However they can learn to sew. I learned to sew from my mum. I was lucky as she thought all kids should learn basic life skills and sewing was one of them, I was the only boy in my year in secondary school who admitted they could sew and so I was called on to repair split pants on more than one occasion. You don't need to be a designer for outfits in the show, there are things called showing patterns that you can buy or get for free in this day and age. You can then adapt them for your body, even making a custom mannequin is relatively cheep nower days. Lordy you can even buy a basic sewing machine cheaply nowerdays with stores like Aldi having them as special buys on occassion.
@@Dermacrosis not this. I sew myself, I have a machine, needles thread fabric etc. you still need money for these things. Fabric costs lots of money at times. Sure you can be thrifty but that costs money too. When Chi Chi and Veronica said they were poor they meant POOR poor. Maybe you can get a $5 outfit and spruce it up but that’s still money that you don’t have when you’re already starving and behind on your bills.
@@meandsambffl That depends on where you are and in the UK we have a number of haberdashers that have clearance areas and end of roll ones too meaning the fabric is cheap compared to buying it by the meter. However this is about reusing things and so the original cost is irrelevant.
I think Ru Paul and the producers flat out do not understand British drag. The challenges are just Cringey and even degrading. There aren’t enough opportunities in the challenges to make these girls shine.
It’s another “Attack of the Ugly American,” where we try to impose American culture on the rest of the world as the only culture that matters. I hated seeing it when I was a teen from East Central Illinois living in Brussels and I hate it now, almost 30 years later. One of the things I valued the most was experiencing what it was like to live in Brussels as opposed to the American enclaves like Waterloo and Overijs. If we wanted to live in an American-like suburb, we wouldn’t have gone to Europe in the first place. Yet I digress… I wish that Americans would respect that we are just one culture out of many, and it’s more important to learn that, enjoy the experiences of being in those different cultures and respect the differences. One size NEVER fits all.
btw this is a part of why I LOVED Ra'jah on AS6 so much - I would have never thought it possible for a queen today to almost win while spending so little and making every single outfit. MAD respect for Ra'jah.
It’s not just the fandom, when a millionaire relying on royalties, shows, and fracking publicly shames queens for not having upgraded to high-fashion and expensiveness during a pandemic that left them penniless and depressed, it’s hard for the narrative to shift into just charisma uniqueness nerve and talent.
@@BilliePosters Ru needs to settle and he needs to humble himself a little. He also came from nothing and struggled for a long time but it seems that he's completely lost sight of that to the point where he can no longer empathise with another queen's struggles.

I honestly can’t explain how much I support these two queens. This interview was brilliant. It was a real conversation between two human beings who actually understand each other. Not trashing other queens - even when said people are comfortable treating others like shit. Tia & Veronica are class acts 👑👑
I was really sad when Tia went in her season and equally sad when Veronica went last week. Last year was horrible and my heart goes out to Veronica. She and Tia were my favourites last year. As for Ahorra, she needs to grow up and stop being spiteful. It's not a personality as one of the other Queens said.
i think the queens should be payed a little in advanced so they have the money to buy costumes and wigs cause veronica went from season 2 to filming season 3 straight away. like imagine that being depressed and going on tv to be judged by thousands. i actucally love veronice i just want to give her a hug
I'm not gonna lie, these post-season 3 interviews she's done has changed my perception of her a lot. In a good way. She is really well spoken and the way she addressed the lip sync results // mental health was really nice.
Because production saw an opportunity to structure the eliminations for the rest of the season to be what they consider “gagworthy” aka making room for a double stay or a return or whatever they feel like. They have to take into account however many episodes they had purchased for the season and work from there.
The strange thing is now performing in little pubs/clubs is seen as a bad thing. That is how you build your name not from a short lived spot in the limelight due to a TV show. People don't know or if of my gen forget, that it takes time to build up a name and a reputation. I have worked in bars since I was 16, you only have to be 18 to buy alcohol not to serve it, and I get a job in one pub where a drag queen was the compare on the big nights, it took him over a decade to get there and he did not forget it and he helped newer drag queens too as he didn't take them as a threat to him. It is shame nowadays it seems to be the opposite case. What is it with people thinking that they need to be instantly famous? It says more about them than they would like.
@@dennisvillaflor3359 Where did I say that? That is a genuine question as that is not what I meant and so I will correct my self. I was talking about the way things seem to be now in the area of being instatnly famour, or going viral, instead of actually putting in the hours and earning yourself a real name.
I think in general, the average American is not as class conscious as UK. Looking rich is just as valid as being rich, which has a way of ignoring systemic imbalances in power. If you can point to one person that achieved the “American dream”, then you can condemn 100 others who didn’t “work hard enough”. As a Canadian watching an American essentially define drag world wide, we begin to see some of the idiosyncrasies between the westernized cultures
UK drag, like so many iterations of drag, is not polished, working class and subversive. Drag Race has upended the art into something poshy, safe, uncomplicated. Even grannies can safely engaged in the fandom.
Casting Drag Race a lot further in advance would also help. Let people get time to scrounge looks together; whether they make them, borrow them, or buy them. I mean, some of the crafting looks made of hot glue and desperation look fab even against bought looks.
I have a whole another level of respect for Veronica after this, she is so right about what the show has become and I'm glad she is being r sincere and open about the fans expectations of "glow up" vs her reality.
It's Drag Race, not Monopoly. So annoying when the judges call out "cheap" looks and expecting them to shell out enough for designer wear. RuPaul has no business yelling at the queens for wearing off the rack clothing as if he's not had to wear fast fashion when he was starting out. If the outfit looks cheap, who cares! As long as they sell it like its Mugler or Versace, it shouldn't matter. If the judging panel was made up of actual drag queens, we'd be watching a different show.
Oh my days!!! Veronica you totally should have had at least a double stay! Absolutely gutted you were eliminated so early on, you deserved so much more! I’ll always be a huge fan of you and your drag. I’ve been a fan of yours since before you did All Together Now, you’ve got an amazing career ahead of you! I can easily see you in movies and musicals very soon! xox
Love this interview! Even if you dont spend £££$$$ on your looks and sew all your looks, that requires so much time and even material costs, that most Queens can't afford that either. I've seen people saying, look at Rajah Ohara, she only spend $600 on her AS looks, but that doesnt include all the time she's spent becoming the show stopping seamstress she is and the time it took her to make those outfits! even having free time is a luxury anyway love these two so much, my faves from S2 !
Also Rajah for AS6 had stability. Some people don't know if they are going to be able to pay rent so taking time to prepare for Drag Race is just not possible. Taking the time to sew a costume means not working while making it, means taking a night in to sew instead of going to perform, earning tips or getting booked.
@@samsamtherising yeah exactly. i guess some people bring it up (not in reference to veronica, but in general to drag race not needing to be expensive) to prove that it can be done, which it can, but its not as straightforward as "dont spend money, do it all yourself!"
And also, sewing is not gonna be everyone's strong point, yes both Ra'Jah and Veronica are great seamstresses, but that doesn't mean every single queen is a skilled seamstress, of course you can learn, but obviously it comes easier to some queens
Veronica you are truly an amazing human being! I am so captivated when you talk about drag and life in general. I have suffered from deep depression and at the same time time being very poor (all good now though). How you did Drag race UK in spite of those obstacles is amazing, I really hope you feel proud and recognise your achievement. RuPaul's Drag Race is definitely elitist, the stakes are getting higher as the years role on and the attempt to gag the audience on the runway is becoming boring in itself. The entertainment factor is everything and gives longevity to Drag Queens!
V.G makes alot of sense. RPDR should be about talent not how much someone can spend prior to the show. It becomes uneven when they are judged on appearances, yet one queen can afford expensive and one can't.
I'm so so glad Veronica spoke her mind with honesty and vulnerability! What she said is extremely important... Mental health and money issues are, unfortunately, a "weird" subject. It was refreshing to hear someone, especially a Drag Race queen, talk about where the show is going and what the fandom expects! Much love to her and her fiancé ❤️
This interview made me really respect Veronica. So intelligent and down to earth. Thank you for being so honest and vulnerable, Ms. Green. You're a treasure.
The financial part of drag race also pevents more bipoc queens from auditioning which contributes to the lack of diversity & racism problem on the show.
I love the Tia and Veronica friendship. I think they get along so well because they both seem like genuine, kind-hearted people first, and drag queens second.
Brilliant interview. Should never have been sent home. We can already see that season 3 is all about who does the best runway(even if they are sh*t at everything else). Will watch tonight to see how it goew, but this is nowhere near as good a season as the first two.
A lovely, honest and respectful interview. It would have been nice if Ru had used the doubly shantay, considering everything Veronica has gone through and the fact it was her first low placement. I'm sure Veronica is going to go on to do great things though. Loving all this extra Tia content we're getting too. You don't have to win a crown to be a winner.
I wasn't sure how I felt about Veronica based on the show and other things I've seen of her but she spoke so clearly and honestly. Got a lot more admiration for her after this
I absolutely loved this…. May just be my favourite interview yet! So chilled, relaxed, funny, open and raw! These two are two very classy individuals and it shows! They’re already superstars and the show and their opportunities post the show has only gone on to highlight that, I can’t wait to see more from both of them. I’ve loved each interview Tia has done has been slightly different In how the interaction plays out but most importantly each queen was allowed to state their experience and having been there and done it Tia has the empathy and sympathy to listen and handle each question with grace. Ronnie you’ve handled the whole situation with Awhora incredibly and it’s so refreshing to hear someone say I’m just not in that place to want to be able to address it rn. Rather than fake forgiveness. It was also refreshing to have the mental health aspect of pre and post the pandemic and financial impact of the show highlighted, Ik there’s been a couple of other instances where queens have brought this up but this has been another level. One day at a time but I’m glad your in a much better place and i hope you’ve both gotten half the love back that you’ve given. ❤️
The most heartbreaking elimination of this season so far. I'm shocked they didn't use the Double Shantay for her, especially when she would've done great in the girl group challenge. Really love what she had to say about mental health and the expense of Drag Race. It's something that should be talked about more often.
I think Vanity and Veronica's lip sync is more deserving of a double shantay than Charity and Scarlett's. Scarlett messing the Slice girls group performance is unfair to the other members 😔
I appreciate this conversation and I am so proud of Veronica for having it. I will add it's hard to put all the blame on the fan base when the leader of the Cult is screaming how they don't want to see any fucking H & M
I really appreciate that Veronica was really honest about her experience with depression during the pandemic. I'm sure a lot of people can resonate with that struggle. Tia is a great listener and interviewer. Much love for these two.
Drag race should either not allow contestants to bring in outfits made by others or give them a budget once being casted so it can be leveled for everyone.
My two favourite season two Queens - could care less if they won or not, they are both so fierce in their own ways. Thrilled that they are loving, supportive BFF’s in real life. ❤️🇨🇦❤️
I think they should start a new policy in Drag Race, where the queens all get the same amount of money to buy their looks and they have to show receipts. Particularly the America series is just becoming like the Met Gala were certain queens are basically sponsored by a designer.
No … this was the same problem with drag race down under. Ru has her own agenda and fact that it’s obvious that some performers were given a free ride no matter how bad they were. There should be a public vote
This was an authentic and informative interview because of both participants. I enjoyed it. I've thought of applying myself and just don't think I'm enough of a 'look queen'

@Sebastián Baeza YEAH! I was so worried they were gonn portray her as petty or something like that.
And just like Ginger, Thorgy can be Tia's BFF
jk kimora
I hope so too.
@@dontstopmeow5757 Actually Vanity will ..make uhm nevermind.
@@dontstopmeow5757 I think 2 things are about to happen and they have to do with either a double sashay, or Victoria's coming back? Ru gave that hint about us not seeing the last of her.
I thought they were going to do a double stay since two queens left last episode . She definitely deserved to stay a little longer.
I feel like if drag race is gonna continue to put so much emphasis on the runways they should give the queens a budget for looks before the season so everyone can come in at a more equal level 🤷🤷
That's such a good idea! I agree x
This felt like an important and touching conversation that should be had more, more of this angle please
I am still amazed how Veronica transforms from a nerdy guy to a gorgeous woman through drag. Kudos to her honesty. I wish she could've gone further.
Wow. Veronica Green, I admire your honesty about your struggles. It's something I can relate to, which in turn makes me feel less alone x
love your pfp!! i see that red wig and silver dress🤭
@@merrymermaid haha yeah, we've been friends quite a while!
@@merrymermaid PLSSS
veronica spoke really well about the topic of rupaul’s class race and how it is becoming a seriously issue in the show
Veronica was being very kind with her statement about DR "skewing towards elitism." It's been elitist for a while.
Yeah it’s definitely time for Ru to get new judges because Michelle & Ross are terrible
Gottmik did not spend that much on her drag
How beuatiful they look. Im so proud of Veronica speaking about mental health And having problems with money.
How mature she is
I think Ru Paul and the producers flat out do not understand British drag.
Yet I digress…
I wish that Americans would respect that we are just one culture out of many, and it’s more important to learn that, enjoy the experiences of being in those different cultures and respect the differences.
One size NEVER fits all.
I miss old DragRace when queens had to design garments in the show and not just wear expensive stuff they bring…
btw this is a part of why I LOVED Ra'jah on AS6 so much - I would have never thought it possible for a queen today to almost win while spending so little and making every single outfit. MAD respect for Ra'jah.
It’s not just the fandom, when a millionaire relying on royalties, shows, and fracking publicly shames queens for not having upgraded to high-fashion and expensiveness during a pandemic that left them penniless and depressed, it’s hard for the narrative to shift into just charisma uniqueness nerve and talent.
you need to settle
@@BilliePosters Ru needs to settle and he needs to humble himself a little. He also came from nothing and struggled for a long time but it seems that he's completely lost sight of that to the point where he can no longer empathise with another queen's struggles.
@@BilliePosters you’re right, it’s a long comment, clearly you can’t process more than two words

FUCKING PREACH!!! I HAVE GOTTEN INTO ARGUEMENTS ABOUT THE FRACKING AND PEOPLE JUST CLAPPED BACK AT ME AND SAID I WAS JUST MAD THAT A BLACK HOMOSEXUAL MALE WAS FAMOUS... LIKE HOW THE FUCK DOES THAT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT. SHE'S A MESS. I ALSO GET A HUGE VIBE OF JEALOUSY. SHE ACTS LIKE SHE LOVES THE QUEENS BUT AFTER MANY COMMENTS YOU CAN TELL SHE MISSES BEING YOUNG AND IN HER PRIME AND SHE THINKS SHE'S #1. LIKE A BOOMER WHINING ABOUT THEIR GRANDCHILDEREN GETTING A PARTICIPATION AWARD.
Drag race has really been a bumpy ride for Veronica, I hope she gets a chance on All Stars UK or All Stars International
Steve didn't "have to" support you, he chose to because he loves you ❤ I get down on myself for relying on my husband too, but he always reminds me that we're in this together, and everything we have we've worked for together ❤
Veronicas comments about trying to please people and upsetting others are the cost of that is so so true. And very well said 👏
Tia is another excellent example that you do not have to win RPDR to be really successful! All the best to you, Tia! Well done!
Love these two you can tell their so close too hope these two do international all stars!
So I was shocked to learn they earn almost next to nothing for actually filming the seasons
Me too, Veronica is such a sweetheart and I had her down to win S2 before she had to withdraw, so I was glad to see her in S3.
I'm not gonna lie, these post-season 3 interviews she's done has changed my perception of her a lot. In a good way. She is really well spoken and the way she addressed the lip sync results // mental health was really nice.
That’s what I’m saying?! If Victoria Scone HAD to leave, why eliminate anyone that episode?!
Because production saw an opportunity to structure the eliminations for the rest of the season to be what they consider “gagworthy” aka making room for a double stay or a return or whatever they feel like. They have to take into account however many episodes they had purchased for the season and work from there.
@@meandsambffl Elektra Fence literally turned the lipsync so gag-worthy that even Michelle got impressed and Elektra sashayed away...
Turns out it was answered in the next episode… no spoilers but imo that production decision is such a mistake
@@macaoron really is a mistake. Neither of them were particularly good. Definitely shouldn’t have turned into what it did 🤷♀️

Omg Tia chatting with Kylie Minogue so iconic ...
Totally love Veronica and Tia 💕
Such a well articulated point about financing drag race and elitism 👏
Where did she say that she wants to be instantly famous? but that is the next step
@@dennisvillaflor3359 Where did I say that? That is a genuine question as that is not what I meant and so I will correct my self.
I was talking about the way things seem to be now in the area of being instatnly famour, or going viral, instead of actually putting in the hours and earning yourself a real name.
The spoiler was tacky AF, true colours out AGAIN ! Don’t send hate to any queen, but you can sure as heck lose respect in them and future gigs.
Thank you for bringing up the strong working class background of drag in the UK, i feel like ru is trying to ignore that factor
THISSSSSSSSSS ^^^^^^^^
@Sebastián Baeza wait which front runner is racist?
"I can do pretty", girl, we know, you're literally sitting there looking like a clone of Jennifer Grey circa Dirty Dancing. Gorgina. 😘
Really sad she left, she had so much more to show! Stay Positive!
I've seen people saying, look at Rajah Ohara, she only spend $600 on her AS looks, but that doesnt include all the time she's spent becoming the show stopping seamstress she is and the time it took her to make those outfits! even having free time is a luxury
anyway love these two so much, my faves from S2 !
Also, Ra'Jah is 1 QUEEN from Drag Race...what about the 10s of other Drag Race Queens who have spent much more! 💃
@@BlinkoutIRL EXACTLY! having free time to do this stuff is a luxury!
Veronica Green is so well spoken and very intelligent when she speaks. She is very honest on what happened and not talking bullshit like awhora did.
How am I only discovering this series now? Lemme watch the other interviews!
I’m glad the uk queens talk more about the cost of drag than the USA queens because finances really matter
This is not an interview. This is a conversation between two good friends ❤️❤️❤️💪🏽🙏🏽👼🥂
Thanks for being so honest and open Veronica! This is just the beginning for you💚 can’t wait to see what you do in the future!
Yaaasss Vee! thank you for your honesty, You’ve brought me to tears. The struggle is real x
Veronica looks like that rich woman in movies who gives good advice and is always holding a glass of wine. Pure class
Bravo Veronica!! Everything about elitism in DR.. very well said .. Viva H&M !
8:40 I honestly really liked tia's looks in the pre covid stretch of season 2 it makes sense that it was lockdown
This was a wonderful interview. I’m glad Tia scrapped the pre-prepared questions and had an honest conversation with her friend.
But also give them a talk show this was very calming
A lovely, honest and respectful interview. It would have been nice if Ru had used the doubly shantay, considering everything Veronica has gone through and the fact it was her first low placement. I'm sure Veronica is going to go on to do great things though.
Loving all this extra Tia content we're getting too. You don't have to win a crown to be a winner.
Such a close lip sync but I feel like Veronica was really GIVING the song. Should have been at least a double save! Both V and Tia lookin gorj x
Give every Queen a set budget of £20k.
And while you're at it, pay them more for appearing on the show!
She may not have one, but she won the crowd for sure
Sorry to hear you had an awful time during lock down as well tia x
Attitude made the best decision to choose Tia Kofi as the host. Love to see her growth ❤️
Tia and Veronica's glow up is gorge!!
Can we just point out that Tia has done better than those who picked on her during the season?
I appreciate this conversation and I am so proud of Veronica for having it.
I will add it's hard to put all the blame on the fan base when the leader of the Cult is screaming how they don't want to see any fucking H & M
Great interview ladies! Two of my UK faves as well. Money isn’t everything; you two are so entertaining!!!!
Loved watching this, you too are just so kind and lovable!
Wow this is much more heavier than I expected…
I think they should start a new policy in Drag Race, where the queens all get the same amount of money to buy their looks and they have to show receipts. Particularly the America series is just becoming like the Met Gala were certain queens are basically sponsored by a designer.
No … this was the same problem with drag race down under. Ru has her own agenda and fact that it’s obvious that some performers were given a free ride no matter how bad they were. There should be a public vote
Now that VG is gone, I can really see how not herself she was on season 3.
This was an authentic and informative interview because of both participants. I enjoyed it. I've thought of applying myself and just don't think I'm enough of a 'look queen'
"Ok, Victoria S'gone.” 🤣
Don't often get attached to queens but really wish she stayed :/
I was fully expecting a double shantay this episode, was so disappointed ru didn't let Veronica stay❤️

she’s actually spot on with everything she’s said. like, USA drag race, they get cash prizes for doing nothing exceptional, let’s not even talk about the $100,000 dollars they get if they win.. what does the UK get? a badge, (iconic, yes), and a TV series that no one really gets to see?
