Totally agree, Tre. Glad you liked. I was going to suggest this one as well. Me and my brother and my friends would do a full band air guitar performance to this when I was in high school. That solo and then the beautiful melodic guitar before they go back into the heavy riff is so good to hear again, so good.
My favourite James Gang track Bolero was obviously stolen from Ravel, and Cast Your Fate To The Wind was by Vince Guaraldi but Joe Walsh's genius fitted all the parts together.
@Bob Corbin That explains it. I first heard this song when I was very young on the "16 Greatest Hits" by The James Gang. It had the 'minus Bolero' version on it. For years I thought that was the full song. I didn't hear until much later the proper version, along with the brilliant "James Gang Rides Again." I definitely like the longer version better.
You play some really great old rock songs on your channel. Some I hear nowhere else. Really enjoyed Johnny Winter! This is one of the last of the great three man bands. "Made loud to be played loud"
The slide guitar part, before his playing the melody from Ravel's "Bolero" (the wah wah part), is a tip of the hat to "Beck's Bolero" from the Truth album.
And to think, you didn’t really like the first Joe Walsh tune you reviewed way back when. Was it Rocky Mountain Way? Anyway, you’ve pretty much hit all his big ones by now and your reactions have gotten only more enthusiastic each time. Joe’s got his hooks in you now! Time to check out the only big one you haven’t done yet (I think)... Life’s Been Good
Tre, You are into the archives. I like it! If you like Joe Walsh, here is a 53 minute video of a 1975 Don Kirshner's Rock Concert featuring Joe Walsh (this is the kind of thing we used to get on TV back then): ruclips.net/video/w1-AVh-ZylI/видео.html He wasn't part of the Eagles then, but .....

Always loved Bolero in all it's incarnations and the James' Gang's The Bomber is one of my favorite versions, my favorite James Gang song.
The perfect rock journey, just takes you away. Joe's brilliant as is the whole band.
Great oldie,great sound,great groove,great reaction.
I'm surprised there's not more views on this song. It is phenomenal.

Good jam right there oldie but goody
Such a wonderful review. Joe is a hidden treasure. I hope that his name and music don't get lost for the next generation. Thanks Tre.

Joe also has Jeff Beck to thank for the idea of translating Bolero to rock.
At one point Ravel's descendants ordered a cease-and-desist and the middle part of the song was cut out
@@bobcorbin3294 Interesting. Never knew that.

JAMES GANG RIDES AGAIN !!!
Bar 🌌 Heaven indeed.
Everything about Joe Walsh screams rock n roll! Kick ass rock n roll. ☮️
The middle guitar solo is his cover of Ravel's classical masterpiece Bolero. It's about 13 to 15 minutes long.

listen to their song/ Midnight Man from this same album, beautiful, creative
A little rock, a little classical, a little jazz, a lot of perfect. I'll be back tomorrow with the punchline of the joke.
This solo is very Alice Cooper-ish. Dig it! ☮️.
You know Lou Reed's "Intro/Sweet Jane" from "Rock and Roll Animal"? Alice's guitarists, possibly the best solo ever.
i was watching your reaction while i seen my man robbie gould put thru a game winning field goal
what a game and what a James Gang banger
the original albums had to be repressed to remove the "Bolero" part, Ravel's copyright owners didn't condone it
thank you for not interupting
Walsh is the mad hatter if kick ass guitar playing
That's my kind of rock n roll!! Joe Walsh was the shit
Oh Man, Joe Walsh leading the Gang on this recording is still nothing short of a religious experience! Just turn it up and FEEEL.
This was meant to be played as loud as your stereo will go!
Now you're cookin' with gas! Top ten artist for me. He and Tom Petty have the cool market cornered.
Listen to a live version of this by Joe Walsh... it's so damn cool
