hi to do this mod do you just use the 750 ball and not the 750 spring as i notice the 750 and 600 spring is a different part no to the 1000 and as the k5 doesn't use the ball i would think the spring is longer was just wondering if with the ball fitted it might be under a bit to much tension and it might be better to use both the spring and ball of the 750/600 models what do you think mate?

Yeah you use the ball from the
k4 ' k5 750 ...with the spring from the k5 k6 1000. ' 100% it will Not cause a problem ' all it does is to give the spring a little more push to click tensioner on one click at a time when it's needed

Thanks for the info my man, do you have to take the rocker cover off and cable tie the chain onto the cam gears just to replace the chain tensioner with a new one ??

    Just saying.
Its pressed steel and not hardened steel as it itself never touches the chain. It pushes on the cam chain guide.

I have a rattle after a valve clearance adjustment. During the tensioner installation I had to slightly turn the engine over backwards, to tighten the chain on the tensioner side. This got the tensioner to unlock and engage. The timing chain seemed tight and the timing was good. The rattle persists after riding through 2 fuel tanks, with both a hot and a cold engine. Should I wait for another click? By the way, my K6 gsxr 600 does not have the ball bearing. The spring has to be forced / twisted in when installing the cap.
