Down the stretch could mean a lot, like "down the back stratch" which would certainly not be wrong here, or perhaps he just meant the "final stretch". Either way, I love this guys announcing. If you think this is horrible then lord I have no clue what "good" would even be. This guy is awesome whenever he announces xc/track. He brings lots of energy and has a good voice.
