Still trying to comprehend running 3200 metres in just over 9 minutes with a fever of over 100°!! I'm sure Leo was upset, but one day he'll see how legendary that was. x
How they look running 6 min pace is how I look running 9 minute pace. I would look so much more out of control than them it’s crazy. Witnessing legit greatness
I could be wrong but I think their easy pace is typically 6:30-7:00, which makes sense for people of their caliber. Actually, lots of people run that pace regularly when they're no where near as fast. Sometimes that's just what works for them but it's usually because they're running much faster than they should on an easy day. On that note, NP has a great program going on, and their coach definitely knows how to make sure his athletes go easy on easy days so they can go even harder on hard days.
You should still be proud with that time! To qualify for sectionals where I live it is only 10:58 for the 3200m this year. I didn't check states but I assume it's close to 10 flat. These kids are just insane
@@chigeon6283 yall schools are built different. I'm the only 3200m runner at my school🤣I run a 4:56 1600m and I'm the 2nd fastest 1600m runner in the last 20 years at my school
Great insight Lex. I was a bit worried about Leo and it was pretty obvious that something was off. What is so amazing is that he still wanted to run and ran a time that would have been top five in the nation during my senior year in high school. Simply amazing. Please Leo take care of yourself and don’t push it while you are sick. Prioritize recovery. Wow, Lex, 8:35. You looked so strong in that race. As you develop into a young man, right before our eyes, it is becoming clearer and clearer that you are going to special things.

A current junior in high school as well, running cross country and distance track - my best mile as of this outdoor season has been 6:01..you guys are WICKED fast..haha! And my two mile PR has been 13:11 this season, improvement to come! GREAT JOB LEX & LEO, and the entire NEWBURY PARK TEAM! PMA & BEAST MODE ALL THE WAY ~

These videos are the one thing I look forward to on RUclips. I am always rewatching the old videos. Thanks for posting these as well as doing all the other things you do.
April 9th was a great day for a lot of runners. I threw down a 31 second PR in the 5k on the road and that fired me up for my marathon I have in 2 weeks after that performance and watching that epic 3200m added fuel to that fire. Congrats on the race and hopefully Leo has a speedy recovery!

@@williamgrewal8062 I found the same thing happened for me. Since I started watching them a year ago I have doubled consistently on tuesdays and Thursday’s. They have really helped me stay consistent
Good video! Another slammin Arcadia. Sorry you guys didnt get to go after the 4x8 yesterday, must suck for Leo to still be out. You guys should consider doing some of the race reaction content you had Nico do a little while back. If you need quick content i think that would be pretty cool, just a 10 minute sitdown and live explainer of your strategy/thoughts mid race. Just a suggestion though, you guys always have good video subjects.
Good Luck Wishes for the upcoming Track season coming from St. Clair Highschool MI XC and Track! Your team has been a big inspiration for us especially with the famous quote, "A 4:20 mile, just isn't fast", but keep up the good work, and I hope Leo gets better asap.

You guys honestly inspire me so much. With Leo's sickness, I'm glad you guys are transparent about it and it is showing that not everything is perfect. Keep working and just know that a deviation in the path means there are better things to come!
As a freshman, it is crazy to see you guys run! My mile PR is a 5:05, and I just broke 11 in the 3200 today with a 10:55. It inspires me to run faster seeing you guys run at these speeds 😂
You guys are coming up on 20k now!! That’s so crazy, I was watching you during cross country when you only had a few thousand, the progress is well deserved tho, loving the vids
It’s seems like a crazy coincidence, but last week I came down with a 102 degree fever the day before my 3200m as well and it was hard to recover from. I wanted to break 10, but now it looks like my chances of doing so are slim this season. Leo, don’t give up hope. I know getting sick now is the worst, but your season isn’t over. You’ve still got so much potential. Look to your amazing coach, your awesome teammates, and your loving family. They’ll get you through this tough time.
Because XC and Track are both very underrated sports. A lot of people those two sports are a lot more simple and easy than they actually are and therefore aren't impressed by great running.
I got the privilege to see you guys there! Traveled from Arizona to compete over at Tiger the day before. Sadly though, my team had to leave before the 3200 😭 still great race to watch live and congratz
Yo thanks for carrying the vlog this weekend by yourself Lex, love to see these before a hard week of practice ahead of me. Great work boys, see you guys in the next video
Amazing stuff. Especially Leo being sick and still running faster than most people. Here's a question: What's your typical plan for the 2mile? Like go out fast and pray that you survive for the rest of the laps? I'm just trying out different race strategies for the 2mile.
They know the pace they can hold for 2 miles so they are never just praying they survive. They run workouts to know what pace they can hold. You should be able to judge the pace you can hold on your workouts too
@@ryantherunner821 this all the way. That’s how I achieved my pr just a couple days ago. Needed to run 1:22 every 400, dropped consistent 1:20-1:23 for the first 7 laps, then dropped a 1:16 final 400 to run a 10:55

Honestly I don’t run anymore I quit a few weeks ago. I’ve Ran 4:26, 9:25 & 15:17 didn’t think I would still care to watch videos of running still but I guess I still care about it in that aspect
I quit because it became a chore not something I can enjoy. The die hard runners on my team won’t understand life without it and being exposed to that level of consciousness and constantly grinding destroyed me. Running began to take a lot from me which I couldn’t no longer watch happen. All I’m saying is that I still have large amounts of respect to anyone that wishes to continue running in college and after, but I have 0 respect for the people that force themselves to do it simply to have that social security. It never holds up. My coach also only cares about winning and that’s why we’ve choked so many times during XC nationals In Louisville KY. There truly is a lack of harmony within the team because all the motivation and “success” is materialized in such a fake and inauthentic manner it’s scary. If you’re gonna run in college make sure your coach is chill because that sets the tone for the whole team.
