Replace drain pump on a GE top load Washing Machine (GTW720)

This is a quick video to replace the drain pump on a GE gtw720 top loading washer. The machine stopped draining and we didn’t find any blockages, so we ordered a new drain pump.

If this model doesn’t have any kind of filter… what would cause residue clumps on the clothes when the cycle finishes? My wife and I continually have this issue.
