man, these guys are hardcore. I feel so vulnerable without my board. People don't know how fit you have to be to do this. Legends.
I’m rather old these days but as a kid I had been surfing for several years before anyone thought to tie the board to your leg. I got real good at swimming, body surfing and fighting my way back out. My first leg rope consisted of zero stretch cord attached to the board through a hole in the fin and to a dog collar on the ankle. How I wish I could of had one of today’s boards when I was ten.

This made me cry with joy. I BS 3-4 days a week all year in our puny Gulf waves (near St Pete). To see people enjoying nature, their bodies, sheer athleticism . . . man. Bless you.

Belinda's style with no hand plane is far more elegant than his with the plane. She is a joy to watch and a great bodysurfer. Hand planes have their place but the hand plane got in the way of riding this wave. Belinda's riding flowed in tune with the wave.

hallerd Sometimes....the hand plane opens up different avenues and possibilities that weren't previously achievable without the use of a hand plane. As long as people are in the water and riding waves it shouldn't matter whether it's just pure body surfing or if it's using a hand plane or if it's on a bodyboard or if it's on a longboard, shortboard, a fish, a thruster or a single-fin. as long as they're in the water enjoying mother ocean that's all that should matter.

@@WjB_96792 Not even close man. Sandy's is fun, but body surfing into a closeout doesn't require nearly as much skill and control as these guys have.
Keep looking... This is pretty, well shot and edited, and the waves look fun... But there's a whole 'nother level awaiting you, just on this platform.

I grew up in Hawaii my father was a pilot. I use to bodysurf 6 to 8 hours at a time as a teen without coming in. I’m now 63 and know in my heart I’ll never be in that kind of shape we take for granted when we’re young again. Life is short, enjoy.

Bodysurfing ! Love this. I've surfed most my life but I love bodysurfing and bodyboarding also. For me I just get the most satisfaction from mixing it up.

En Venezuela le llamamos “pechito” por ser tu pecho el respaldo. De niño recuerdo habían dos salvavidas que corrían pechito hasta con oleaje huracanado... hacían tubos y rolos. Muchos que aún no tenían una tabla agarraban una bandeja cualquiera y le hacían el mejor diseño “Quinsilver” y eso se volvía mágico papá

It's so easy to do a 360 as you would on a bodyboard while bodysurfing and yet I don't see it on video often

Bodysurf is the most pure form of surfing/waveriding. To keep it 100% pure you have to surf with your bare hands. Just my opinion
