Coolest video, I quite enjoyed that! I will be giving body surfing a try ASAP! I cannot guarantee I'll look as cool doing it, but I'll make it look Fly...
I was not expecting this style, I suppose the size of the waves had a lot to do with it. I was expecting the wave energy down and behind the face to be exploited.
Interesting technique. You do run the risk of dislocating shoulders (I've seen this happen) if you hit the bottom. The technique I use requires no fins or kicking... a single swimming stroke and you're in the wave and going. I take the stroke and immediately tuck my hands at my groin... as follows: 1) Tuck chin* to chest - it creates a more 'dolphin-like' / foil shape to the neck and shoulders. 2) Roll shoulders forward and tuck hands/palms onto the inside of thighs near the groin (that exaggerates the dolphin/foil effect around the neck/shoulders). Control the depth/height in the wave by bending at the waist. * with a tucked chin, your spine is more rigid - if you do hit an object (this is a dangerous technique) you're less likely to break your neck. You can also take off further out than you are. You're taking off really late - as the wave is about to break. You'll have a better weve by moving toward the horizon a few yards - ie. It will seem that you'll never catch the wave, but let it pass you and give one strong kick/stroke and tuck - the weave will 'grasp' you (as if by the head) and pull you forward through it.
"the best technique in bodysurfing" lol he's not very good at it and he's using fins! Lots of times he tries to cut across the waves before he's actually ON the wave and doesn't ever get on the wave! The drone footage does look nice though.
A beautiful and elegant way of bodysurfing!
I really love your production value. Such good videos every time, keep it up man
Can someone please tell what this sick remix is. Great bodysurfing too. So much fun.
Sick video! All of that dolphining is insane!
Thanks Lohgan! Ya Mark is a really strong swimmer! It's really mind-blowing to watch in person!

Isn’t this what dolphins do?
this fails to show a guy really riding the under wave.
