Been bodysurfing about 55 years. Grew up at a South Orange County hollow beach break, but have been all over the world bodysurfing all kinds of waves. I’ve used Hydro Tech fins for the last 35 years. I know it’s personal preference, but I never use a hand plane. I don’t want a hard object near me when getting tossed.
Everybody has their opinion. I have body surfed and boogie boarded for over 50 years, including many years at the Wedge and still like my Churchill swim fins best.
I'm from the younger generation of bodysurfers who prefer DaFins and Yuccas, but I've heard Voit and Churchills were the preferred brands back in the day!@@simoncaddick9085
Agree on the Speedos for body surfing but I'm an old guy so modesty is needed to protect the innocent. So what I do is wear board shorts until Im ready to surf, make a mad dash to the water with fins then when the session is over, put the boardshorts back on over the Speedos. Another thing I hate about board shorts is how long they stay wet. Really hate wearing wet shorts.
One more comment, a question really on Bodysurfing equipment. I really like to get covered by the lip but miss out on the visuals because of water in my eyes. Has anyone tried bodysurfing with swim goggles?

You used to be able to get Snorkelling / Dive Goggles, rubber body and strap, with either round or triangle lenses, which were a great middle ground between swim goggles (which are bit small) and a dive mask (which I also used). - They might be still doing the rounds somewhere.. ..'something else to lose in the rinse though.

I also own a slyde Grom and love that to even though I’ve bodysurfed for decades… and have tried Slyde wedge and can say they make fantastic products.
The Grom is especially useful when the waves are small and mushy!

bodysurfing / handboarding: different sports same bliss.
Yeah, with a very small handboard I can bodysurf without change my stance. With larger handboard I surf more like a bodyboard
Original Viper V5 and V7 fins 🤙🏼 OLd school but very effective for body surfing 💯
The best fins = YUCCA.
I need to try some!
@@bodysurfcollective ..And Voit Duck Feet / U.D.T.'s. 😎\m/

Yes, I've seen a photo of Gerry Lopez bodysurfing with a dive mask!

I use original duck feet and two handboards.
Female Bodysurfers wear Jolyn suits. Only bikinis that won’t accidentally free the nipple.
@@dreastrongheart6499 Thanks for the comment. My girlfriend loves Jolyn! She agrees that their suits are great for surfing and bodysurfing.
If you body surf with shorts on ,.
You are doing it wrong.
