    Bravo, a typical troubleshooting section when you know what you are doing. Problem is, a lot of techs just don't have the vast knowledge to know what they are doing and they shotgun their approach until they luck up on the defective part(s), if at all. I like troubleshooting circuits. It is like a mystery story as to who done it! Thumbs Up!

    My question is about PWM controllers have some protect features (for example over voltage Protection etc)
    How understand pwm controller's in protect mode ?
    Because not working power supply and all other components looking normal.
    For example how can make "Troubleshooting board for IC"
    * We can try extarnal power supply voltage for PWM controller
    * We can apply suitable frequency and wave to need IC pin/pins for find problem
    Could you make a video for a famous PWM controller's "How understand PWM controller's protect mode"

      it is secondary side pwm controller. it uses direct sense line to the PWM controller voltage mode error amplifier. it uses pulse transformer to drive the power driver stage, so pulse transformer provides isolation

    • @martinkuliza
      @martinkuliza 2 года назад

      This is honestly something you could google
      1. MOSFET's are Transistors
      2. Transistors have 2 main functions
      to be a switch
      to be an amplifier (they have forward gain) Look at the datasheet
      3. Transistor pins are BASE, COLLECTOR, EMITTER
      4. MOSFET's and JFET's Pins are SOURCE, GATE , DRAIN
      Here is how to test them

      welcome brother
      first of all i am thankful for your valuable comment
      second thing. that a power supply design is complete science and it needs a very long, deep and interconnected to each other calculations.
      so it is really near to impossible to cover this topic in one video. because each step, each component. each parameter needs scientific calculations, so it will much difficult to do it.
      i will recommend that if you study Pressman's (book name Switching Power Supply Design fourth edition)
      it is perfect

    Just curious, what is the smaller transformer for?

    • @HaseebElectronics
      @HaseebElectronics  2 года назад +2

      it is called "PULSE TRANSFORMER" or "SIGNAL TRANSFORMER". it takes drive from the SMPS IC, because the smps ic is in secondary side. so this transformer provides isolation between primary and secondary, and the power mosfets are in primary side (which drive the main transformer)
      in simple words, it transfers the drive signal from PWM ic to the mosfets
