Wow I'm impressed I never seen anything on the Heartbreak Hotel It was actually pretty well doneas keeping with they style of Graceland Thanks for posting it😀👍
Such a gorgeous place…why in the world they’d tear this down and replace it is beyond me. The hell were they thinkin’? Thank you so much for this tour-you and anyone else who got to stay there are immensely blessed. 🙏🏻♥️
I was lucky to stay at the Heartbreak Hotel. Loved it and could feel Elvis's presence everywhere. Wish they would keep the hotel. New is good but nothing could beat the original. That homely feeling that was Elvis and what he loved. Thanks Heartbreak Hotel. Beautiful memories.
I am so happy you shared this with us. I never got to experience going there. I have been to Graceland, and I love how much it looks like it. Too bad they I will never get to go. :( I think the new hotel is stunning, but I love the old charm of the Heartbreak. Thank you for taking the time to share that with us all, so we can remember it always. :)
Thank you so much for showing us this! So glad somebody commemorated it on video before it got torn down. I think whoever decorated this understood what true Elvis fans wanted to see. I was so sad to hear it was being demolished. They did an amazing job of recreating Graceland in such a small space. I would have loved to have seen what the regular rooms looked like, too. I think the new hotel is a joke by comparison. I want to laugh when they point at the chandelier in the lobby and say it is a replica of a stone on one of Elvis' jumpsuits, because I feel like they have completely missed the point, somehow. It just looks like a big trendy corporate hotel to me. I feel like the investors cared very little about Elvis fans, and mostly wanted to make it appeal to regular travelers and conventioneers to rake in the dollars. I think they gave the decorating a passing glance at Elvis to get Priscilla's money invested in it, but other than that I really don't think they gave a damn. I think it has a very trendy, overdone, cold look to it. I think if you want to feel surrounded by Elvis and his legacy, you're probably better off staying at the Days Inn down the road. I also think I heard that they charge you to park in the parking lot? So much has been said over the years about how gracious and welcoming Elvis was to his guests at Graceland, to charge guests to park in the parking lot just sounds beyond ridiculous. I know some hotels are doing that nowadays, but most of us are put off by it, and it especially seems ridiculous for Elvis' Guesthouse. I think the new place will only turn a profit if they make a lot of money off travelers who aren't Elvis fans, and if there aren't enough rooms to go around during Elvis themed events.
I TOTALLY AGREE. I AM LOOKING FOR AN " ELVIS THEMED ROOM / SUITE IN MEMPHIS, AND IVE YET TO FIND ONE " THAT ENCAPSULATES ELVIS " I TOO,WISH THIS HADN'T BEEN TORN DOWN!!!. I KNOW RIGHT, YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING THAT IS SO WRONG ON EVERY LEVEL. IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS, THAT MAY COME CLOSE TO THIS " ELVIS SUITE , COULD YOU PLEASE LET ME KNOW, I WOULD REALLY LIKE THAT!!!!!!. I HAVE BEEN TO MEMPHIS, SO MANY TIMES, BUT NOTHING COMPARE TO THIS, AND WHAT A MAGNIFICENT DECOR , IN SUCH A SMALL AREA , THIS LOOKS LIKE THE REAL DEAL, AND HAS A WARMTH ABOUT IT !!!!!!!. ABSOLUTELY 💯 LOVE ELVIS, LIKE ALL OTHER FANS , NOBODY WILL EVER COME CLOSE, TO, " OUR ELVIS ". THANKYOU TO THE PERSON/S THAT POSTED THIS VIDEO, MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!!!. TC ALWAYS PLEASE, AND GOD BLESS Y'ALL 🙌 🙏 ❤️.
That excited lady was my twin sister and a super Elvis fan! For her 60th birthday I threw her a suprise birthday party with two Elvis entertainment artists, then her first trip to Graceland. Am so glad, would not change a thing!
What a great video, thank You so much. I have been to the Heartbreak hotel five times. I will never get to stay in a suite. It looks wonderful. I am so sad that it is being torn down. I love staying there so much. I am going one last time in May before it is torn down in Oct. I wish it wasn't happening. I have always had the best time, and everyone in the hotel is so nice. It will soon be a parking lot, but I will always remember the HEARTBREAK HOTEL. Thank You again for the grand tour. I hope you had a wonderful time.
I often wonder what Elvis would think about the Graceland hotel ? Happy or just wonder why anyone would want anything like what he had? When he first heard there was Elvis impersonator he said why would anyone want to imitate me? That’s what the MMK group said his reaction was when they told him! He’s so humble! Too bad I never even got to see Elvis in real life! I know I would have loved it! I’m happy for the ones that did! I always love to hear what they say about the experience!
Is suite 225 has two bedrooms and what is behind the white door at 3:57 and is their a oven or cooktop to meals at for homemade meals or do you need to go out for every meal?
I never opened the white door at 3:57, it was a closet door. We actually rented two suites. The Graceland Suite and The Jungleoom Suite. Each suite had the standard microwave and coffee. As for meals, it was fun to ride in the pink caddy to Marlowe's Ribs & Restaurant or take a shuttle downtown to Beale street eateries.
How much was the suite back then? Only went to Graceland in August 2018 for the first time.,s o i cannot compare the two but can say the new Hotel is very nice. Looking at your video i noticed ceiling fans.....Didnt they have A/C? I wonder what they did with all the furnishings when they ripped down the old Hotel
why did epe get rid of this lovely hotel any one who is a fan stayed at heartbreak a lot of friendships were made i dont think the guest house will have the same affect time will tell
If Elvis was around at the time then it hasn't to be torn down. They made the same mistake where Elvis got married. Plus a couple of other things have gone that I know of.
Creepy? It was designed after Graceland, Elvis' home, that wasn't open to the public until years after his death, therefore bringing tourism and hotels to the area. Of course Elvis didn't own it. Or was in it.
Wow just wow 👌 👏 😍

I still can’t believe they tore this hotel down. Thanks so much for sharing. I loved your video. ❤️❤️❤️

Loved this hotel. Back in the day when the experience was still down to Earth for the fans. The old plaza can never be replaced as well. Such a shame.

It was a wonderful, memorable experience.
Graceland is amazing. Memphis is full of history! Enjoy! Weather should be nice.

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU ELVIS ❤KATHY EBERHARDT
It was nice to see the hotel. I wonder if Elvis would have approved.

sempei58 was
The Graceland suite averaged $429.41 per night. The Jungle Room Suite average cost was $249.68 per night including taxes.
At first I thought we were back in the days of Silent Films! What fun! Enjoyed. Did you get any sleep???
22/5 That's my birthday. 💓👍👍
its very sad to see heartbreak hotel is now being demolished ..good memories
I bet there isn’t even one room in the new place that looks anything like this
Similar setup like in Graceland
why did epe get rid of this lovely hotel any one who is a fan stayed at heartbreak a lot of friendships were made i dont think the guest house will have the same affect time will tell
I would love to bend there when I tore it down I would have got a loud stuff
Over done ! Not Elvis taste 😢 loved Graceland home ❤️❤️ Elvis forever 🎼🎼
Is the heartbreak hotel still standing
Not anymore. You can't even tell it was there.
Like somebody else said. You cannot beat original. And some of it as already gone, unfortunately.
If Elvis was around at the time then it hasn't to be torn down. They made the same mistake where Elvis got married. Plus a couple of other things have gone that I know of.
did you get to take a souvenir from the suit??
No I didn't. I saw that some previous guests at the suite did tho. If you notice the jungleroom fountain is missing some plastic flora. (so sad)
225 is my birthday...
what did they charge per night
Just found my hotel receipt. Both suites together cost an average of $679.00 per night.
Nice hope to go bad vires I Am Canadains
It was originally a Radisson hotel.
THEY DID NOT HAVE CENTRAL AIR AND HEAT BACK THEN...
Felt creepy to me...did Elvis actually stay here? Did he own it?
Creepy? It was designed after Graceland, Elvis' home, that wasn't open to the public until years after his death, therefore bringing tourism and hotels to the area. Of course Elvis didn't own it. Or was in it.
That room would give me a migraine!!! It’s also tacky
It’s horrific he liked red
YIKES...WHO EVER TALKED ELVIS INTO THAT T.V. ROOM MAKE ....WAS NUTS...DO NOT LIKE IT...BUT I WONDER IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT...
place was haunted
God the decor is horrible it’s trashy
Horrible colours in tv room n bedroom
Why are you making those grunting noises? And I don't think you're supposed to video his music playing. And why do 2 people need a suite?
You sound creepy
Buffalo bill! Lol
Thank-you! So you've seen psycho. I had to use my narrative nonfiction voice.
