Thanks for the video👍. My husband and I just visited Memphis two weeks ago and had a blast! We stayed at the new Hyatt Centric and walked to Beale. Did the Hard Rock, Blues City Cafe and BB Kings, Schwab’s…great. Did Sun Studio, Graceland, the Pyramid, Rock and Roll Museum and the National Civil Rights Museum-all amazing places! We walked the Riverwalk, had ribs at Rendezvous, ate upscale downtown at the Majestic Grille, at the Lookout at the top of the Pyramid, Lafayette’s, and much more in 4 days, and met down to earth people. Yes, we were careful like in any city, and can’t wait to go back👍
Visited Memphis several years ago, had a blast. Beale St is fun, but there is so much more to the city such as Graceland which surpassed expectations and the Civil Rights Museum which is also really worth visiting. Met some really good people there too.
I was born and raised in Memphis. I graduated from Hamilton High School where I graduated in 1962 and went to Memphis State for a while before I took a job at Commercial Credit Corporation for a couple of years before I moved to Columbus, Ohio.
What gem! You can hear the guitars warming up mid-day. The music must never stop. I’ll have to hit Memphis-with my wife someday. Keep ‘‘em coming lord!
This takes me back many years. My ex from my New Orleans days was a MAJOR Elvis fan, so we spent lots of time in Memphis. Loved BB King's and Blues City Cafe' when we were on Beale. We'd stay at The Peabody for a few reasons. She liked looking through Lansky's and I like the fact that it was right by Rendezvous and AutoZone Park, where I could get my baseball fix. To give you an idea of how long ago this was, Jerry Lee Lewis' place was a Pat O'Briens from New Orleans. Nothing was better than taking a Hurricane down Beale Street. :)
Cool video!! I'm going next week!! Thanks for the idea of that hotel! I'm booked for that on Saturday night but I'm also at the canopy hotel as well until Saturday! I got 2 hotels because I'm out of memphis going to Lexington to see an old friend from job Corp school.. and thanks for not spoiling the bb king restaurant I wanna check that out myself.. but thanks for the tour!!
You could have made this vlog an hour long. i was there in 2003 0r 2004 for the weekend. it was one of my best memories. there was motorcycle taxis everywhere. We ate at a BBQ place across from BB Kings both nights. i didnt see it. it was named something like "Blues City BBQ. that place was packed even at 2 0r 3 a.m. is it still there?
If you are there on the last Friday of a month, head down Main Street after 7pm, for Trolley Night, where there is a lot of live music and some free booze. Just head down Beale to the Orpheum and turn south, and all along Main from the Green Beetle to Central Station, there will be music, open galleries and stores. And if you are a runner, in December, there is a marathon that goes through St Jude Childrens Research Hospital which is an extraordinary uplifting and moving experience, because many patients and their parents and medical staff will cheer the runners on.
Me and my partner are going to memphis in October for her birthday was there any trouble as I've seen videos saying it's bad but hopefully it's OK. Good video. We're staying in graceland hotel
Crime in Memphis is very high, so be careful. But that said, there's a lot to see in Memphis. Graceland, Beale Street, the Bass Pro Pyramid, the Peabody Ducks and Lorraine Motel (where MLK was murdered). All worth a visit.
I beseech thee. Wc handy park was the mecca of Beale Street. Fire and brim stone preachers. Three card monty on the sidewalk. Fashion displays. This is where you came to to rub noses with the black movers a d shakers in Memphis.
I lived at the Peabody Place apartments. Walked to Beale many times. :) Plus the trolley was right at the door. Back then the Peabody Square wasn't the HQ for ServiceMaster though, and had a Jillian's as the main tenant. :)
Yes, I know. My father was born and raised in Memphis and I still have family there. That said, Memphis has amazing places to visit. And, I will be doing a "real" visit of Memphis eventually.
Looking to cash in on a life insurance policy, buy the insured a week's trip to Memphis. Memphis crime levels don't just compete with state cities, it competes with national cities (and wins most of the time).
$256/night😂. I lived in Bangkok Thailand 2 years. Traveled all over Southeast Asia. Never paid more than $55/night. Even in KL Malaysia . 2 bedroom condo with 24 security in Bangkok was $130/month 🤷🏻♂️.+ no crime. Never worried about getting mugged
It should. Disabled veteran violently attacked at home by the son of a Memphis fire chief with a weapon with no serial numbers retrieved by cops and courts then railroaded. Shelby County Tennessee vs Eric Green 15-00233. Local news half and falsely reported on the issue. CONGRESSIONAL INVOLMENT AND OBSTRUCTION documented. It gets worse.
Weve gone a few times, its quite the shthole these days... You know all them wonderful people of culture are just so peaceful and not violent at all lol
I live in Memphis Tn and seriously i would not go to Beale street anymore its just to dangerous you need to be a bit more honest with people jes our crime rate is off the roof , us Memphiains stay off the streets at night and we have lived here all our lives be real dude you gonna get folks robbed and killed with this silly mess .......
Thanks for the tour. Besides Beale Street, Memphis is also known for its delicious barbeque!
Oh, I know. I've had it many times!
Awesome upload!! Memphis needed a video like this!! One that’s just not focused on the negatives of the city 👍🏼
That’s very true!

Memphis really is a fun city to visit. :)
I could never imagine not living in Memphis wonderful city with lots of new developments and potential.
I'm heading to Memphis next week and I'm so excited to go to the Bluff City to see Beale street, eat great BBQ, and music!
You'll have a blast!
Went to Memphis for my birthday in 2023, absolutely loved it. Stayed at the Westin on Beale. Did Beale every night was amazing. Any wait to go back

Glad You Came, Please Come See Us Again 😊
I saw you guys in Chicago last Thursday.
Great weather to see the city.
Amazing brought back all my memories back in late 80 when I visited. Not much has changed. Thank for putting up this

Never even heard of Beale street. Now I wanna go! Showing where you stayed was very helpful!

I love my city, We have our own culture ‼️
Memphis should be a UNESCO site. It is a living museum in the best sense of the words.
Again Well Done Show...thanks
I'm Don that use to work at bluescity cafe. Thanks for the memory
Had my 21st birthday on Beale st best night of my life
All those people were there for Country on Beal. It happens pretty much every Thursday 🌉 in the summer

Thank you for the kind words, Faith. :)

Still catching up. One of my friends and fraternity brothers owns BB Kings. Top spot.
I've been there many times !!
Fun times
Part of it's charm ❤️

BB Kings food is amazing!
Memphis TN is ok keep to yourself and I've lived here for thirty two years
It's good you were upfront about the crime rate in Memphis.
That's the main reason I don't go there except to visit family.
I no longer have family there so no reason to go there again.
@@toomanybears_ Same here as soon as my family either moves die, or is killed there.
Go a couple of blocks south of Beale Street at night and you will get a different kind of cultural enrichment.
Yes, I know. My father was born and raised in Memphis and I still have family there. That said, Memphis has amazing places to visit. And, I will be doing a "real" visit of Memphis eventually.
Greetings Lord 🖤🖤
Hello Tasos!! :)
I'm more into rock/metal (was into the whole Tampa Bay metal scene), but I do enjoy a few blues songs when the mood hits.
I love rock/metal as well. Can be a fan of both!
I like opera and Manilow
Thanks
Glad you ended the video, couple drinks and the dress was about to come off
Crazy to think Elvis was walking that street too
Do they let you carry your drinks around?
Yes. You can buy them on the street.
Nashville? :-)
take a sip everytime he says ··anyway>
Broadway Nashville over Beale Street Memphis?
Looking to cash in on a life insurance policy, buy the insured a week's trip to Memphis.
Memphis crime levels don't just compete with state cities, it competes with national cities (and wins most of the time).
That's cool you get to drink outside, NYC does not allow that.
Only on Beal street basically. There are other small squares too but basically it's just on Beal.
Oh if that street and the clubs around it could talk…
Visited there Summer of ‘23. All I can say is for the love of God, don’t drive a Hyundai or a Kia there. The Kia Boyz are in full force.

Call them and ask if Don worked there. The guy that married DeeDee
What??? A beer for 12$, really? That's robbing the blind🤢! So you have to drink VERY slowly, as each gulp costs you 1$🤪!
Yeah, that was ridiculously expensive. But there are cheaper places to get a drink there.
@@JoeandNicsRoadTrip In other words: by avoiding the tourist traps🙂.
Yes. :)
Just don't go on a Saturday night
i'm too scared to go to memphis. that city terrifies me.

@@ericgreen9148 Thank You Eric.
@@richardsanty9063 lol really smh don’t believe everything you hear. Read the other comments first.
I was in Memphis last week. It was actually quiet and sleepy. It probably should be renamed sleepy town
@@ramencurry6672 the crime rate is crazy there.
I live here it sucks
The only safe place in Memphis.
It was better until the new daisy shut down. Also no Memphis is not a dirty grungy city...
Weve gone a few times, its quite the shthole these days...

Rooms look like a regular overpriced place
Boring place I got married there
I haven't been back to Memphis since the late 90's but BB Kings had the best steak sandwich.
