I have had calendars on another pod, but definitely excited to do these on Gelato. I added cards and a poster to my Etsy shop last week from Gelato. it went well from creation to submitting.
@@LizKohlerBrown Thank you for responding. I do have a question, after making one last night I found an issue. I did not sign up for the Gelato plus and it seems I cannot download mockups. since I have not ordered a sample calendar and I am using their grid for the calendar numbers, I am left without images of the inside of the calendar for Etsy. I did a screen cap of one but it is really blurry and I am not sure I am allowed to use it anyway. suggestions??
So glad you enjoyed it! I chose the Ledger size (11 x 16.5). You can learn more about my whole calendar process here: www.lizkohlerbrown.com/design-amp-sell-an-illustrated-calendar/
That will depend on the product you are designing for! I would go with the size that Gelato recommends for each product or larger since you can always size down, but you can never size up!
I use a combination of Procreate and Affinity Designer to create my art! You can learn more about the apps I use in this post: www.lizkohlerbrown.com/procreate-vs-affinity-designer-vs-illustrator-for-making-patterns-on-your-ipad/
Hi Liz! Do you have any setting on computer or photoshop or whatever you use? I already spent so much money on company x, and I’m absolutely disappointed with colour. Very dark and not vibrant colour. I started thinking I have some issues with monitor.
Thanks. Liz - this is helpful! Do you include shipping in your pricing on Etsy or have the customer pay the shipping? Also, can you print on the back cover of the calendar?
I’d love it if you could expand on handling export taxes when integrating POD as part of your business? How do you keep track of the different country thresholds/submission methods, or does Gelato do that for you? Thank you!
Hi Amanda, I use Etsy and they calculate those things for you! I'm not sure about things like Shopify and others so I would check with those platforms!
I designed these in RGB but my rule is to always check with the print company to see what they recommend! In terms of payment, you'll have to ask Gelato about that because I think it depends on your account and what payment method you use.
It’s such a shame as I had an extremely disappointing order from them recently 😩 I ordered to myself to check the quality and there were all kinds of issues such as faded ink, inaccurate cutting, scratches and marks on my cards… I hadn’t seen your review. I’m seeing this for the first time a few days after my order arrived. I must say they had very good customer service and were quick to respond in a polite and helpful manner! It has made me dubious to use them for drop shipping though in case there are problems again 🫤
Such great information. The products look very nice.
Thank you! So glad you found the video informative!
Think I’m going to give it ago. Thanks for the info
That's so great to hear! Happy creating!

Great info! Thank you! What size do you design your calendar on in Procreate?
Hi Shelby, so glad you enjoyed it! The size will depend on which calendar format you choose. They have the exact sizes on each listing!
Thank you for the information, Liz! Which canvas size do you use in Procreate to create your artworks for best quality?
That will depend on the product you are designing for! I would go with the size that Gelato recommends for each product or larger since you can always size down, but you can never size up!
@LizKohlerBrown Thank you very much for your answer! That makes sense.
Do you make all your patterns and illustrations on procreate and send to Gelato?

@@marinajeck9851 no I just go by what I see on my iPad screen! ❤️

So glad you found this helpful! Yes, I included shipping in my pricing. And no, this particular product doesn't allow you to print on the back page.
@@LizKohlerBrown ok, thanks for the quick response! So the back page has to be blank or it's the last month of the year?
@@elizabethnaughton7722 It is a blank white page. You can look at Gelato's product catalog here: www.gelato.com/custom
Great video!
Do you decide on the shipping cost or does Gelato decide for you?
@@chrisblackley1639 you set your own shipping cost in your shop!
❤❤ awesome

Did you design in RGB or CMYK for the cards and things?
Also, I had some orders on Painful or printing and they take money from my PayPal then pay me back. Is that how gelato works with payments?
