Great information! I enjoy swimming and love using fins and hand paddle every time I swim. I swim for exercise, enjoyment and the fact that it is low impact! Would there be any reason I should not use fins and hand paddles all the time? Thank you.
I never used fins and thought they were a joke. Wow, was I wrong. I do private lessons now and have a size for every student. I use my big paycheck of 8 dollars an hour take home that I get from the Y to buy them! Have 4 adult students and two have bought their own pair. My other kiddos won’t even get in the water without them.
We would suggest short training fins, especially if you are using them in the pool. Here are a couple of links to the short fin range, more are coming in stock soon, they are usually very reasonably priced but good quality. www.simplyswim.com/products/swim-fin-energy-orange-black www.simplyswim.com/products/training-fins-blue-lime www.simplyswim.com/collections/training-fins You mentioned being a stuck kicker, have you considered using a kickboard to target your legs? www.simplyswim.com/collections/kick-boards
NO! Only a set or two of kicking and/or swimming with fins, especially when you are new to fins. You will likely be sore after just a few laps with fins.
Hey! I am doing all right in flutter kick but i still remain in one position ( do not move forward). I serached on internet and it stated about rigid ancle flexibility. Fins can help me with this problem? As i can notice my anckles are not flexible enough ( i used to do alot of rinning and walking). Which fin you advice..which will make me MOVE FORWARD!
Try vertical kicking (like treading water, only w/kick) to work on stretching ankles for flexibility and a smooth kicking stroke. You can also practice kicking by swimming on your side.
Thanks, I wasnt sure if I would bother with fins, but the ideas you had convinced me..
brilliant news, good luck with them, I'm sure you will see improvements in technique!
They should have added that they're really good to add variety to a swim session, no matter how serious or otherwise you are about swimming faster.
"As you get older and more elite..." I wish! Mostly I just get slower. Hopefully the fins will help with some technique and strengthening
dude its a given u hit 40 and you become elite just leave your watch at home

Great! Coach, thanks for the idea. I didn' t know that , i will improve my kicks and speed
This is more like “Benefits of and when to use the fins”. It’s really hard to find Video on how to really use them.
Search for improving kick. . .most recommend vertical swimming (think treading), laps of kicking on your side.
I suck at the kick, should i buy and try to use this to train?

Nice. Can you make another one but with monofins next time? A little bit more footage in water would b nice too.
I am a bad kicker because I run for years, so what fin is best and affordable for a stuck kicker?
