However, if it is a battle to the death, or your loss result in more people dying, than sure. Then it is no longer about fairness, but about winning/surviving.

      @@leifkhas7425 Almost all of what you said is wrong. Yeah Ashoka is a true Jedi at least by the time of the Siege Of Mandalor, and Maul is most definitely a true Sith that has power we rarely see in films/series. But Grievous was a true warrior that had a lot of intense training and in legends would scare the likes of Mace Windu, yeah he was helped largely by cybernetic enhancements but the ‘little skill’ part is so wrong, Grievous was adept in all 7 lightsaber forms and could adapt his fighting style to any opponent he faced, he was just as skilled as he was terrifying. Asajj Ventress was much more of an assassin than a Sith, she was good with lightsabers and quite sadistic but she never really became much of a Sith, she was swayed very easily by Quinlan Vos and spent most of her time doing assassin and bounty hunter work, and honestly her force abilities were very limited. As for Savage, yeah he may have been bit of a brute when it came to lightsaber combat and was honestly more skilled as a Dathomorian warrior then a Sith warrior of any kind but he did receive lightsaber training from both Dooku and Maul, how else would he be able to fight against Sidious longer than a lot of Jedi master’s ever could. Plus he was equally very powerful with the force, it was actually said Savage was naturally more powerful with the force than his younger brother Maul, but Maul’s years of refinement and Sith training made him much more powerful overall.

    I think dooku taught them an inferior style because he knew at some point he may have to defeat them himself. the nature of the sith is betrayal.
    also, I think he taught Grievous the 4-armed spinning style as a way to compensate for his lack of force sense. knowing he was to go against force wielders, he would need every advantage.

      I think this is spot on. Trained well enough to brute force the Jedi, yet he can take them. Plus the Sith are supposed to be two at a time; so it’s like the hunger games, eventually he’s going to have to cut it down to killing his master (failed since Palpantine recognized Anakin as superior) and killing all but one of his apprentices.

    @mr.sev0773 3 года назад +4

    one small thing that wasn't really mentioned in the video (which i see relevant to Grievous' combat style) is that Grievous was not just using brute strength to beat his opponents, but he had a very unsettling way to fight with lightsabers as shown in the 2003 clone wars micro series, when fighting the Jedi masters. The use of the element of surprise and intimidation played a very big role in killing jedi since he himself could not use the force.
    The biggest issue when fighting Obi-wan in ROTS comes to the fact that Kenobi was very good at using Form 3 (defensive stance). you may also notice, how at the beginning of the duel, he was not sure on how to approach Grievous' "spin attack" which goes back to the idea that Grievous' unorthodox fighting style relayed on surprise, confusion and mostly Intimidation.

    I feel that you looked for a more personal theory than one based solely on the aforementioned in-Canon facts that you started the video with. As you stated form-2 required lengthy time and commitment to be considered competitive and other Jedi generally didn't adopt it due to it being limited in scope, time consuming to learn and even longer to master. Dooku's apprentices did not have the time to commit to mastering form-2 which is why they were taught more popular forms. Furthermore, with form-2 being less proficient at countering blaster fire it was wise for him to teach his minions other forms as they were going to be mainly dealing with clone troopers and common thugs and rarely facing Jedi. In fact, the only apprentice to really begin to adopt form-2 was Ventress and this was no doubt due to her already having previous training with a lightsabre and other forms. So, the most plausible reason was simply a lack of time.

    I think you might be right. Also, the Count is one of my favorite characters as I actually agree with many of his ideals, including sportsmanship in form 2 over others.
    Although I don't disrespect the other forms, I do feel that the lightsaber is more than a mere weapon.
    Furthermore, if I were to have been trained by the Count, I would've urged for Form 2 because of its elegance.
    Remember... Qui-Gon was actually using both hands when he died, meaning that he wasn't adhering to the training that he received.
    I do not believe that the Count is at fault for his apprentices death via bad training. Qui-Gon abandoned the training he received and sported two hands instead.

    I agree with a good amount of what you said. Dooku was very skilled and practiced his technique for decades. He did have the time to teach Grievous and Ventress in the middle of a war. I'm a warrior myself, and I practice a bit of fencing in saber as well as longsword. Recently I've also begun working with a dagger in my offhand as well, even learning dagger against sword defenses. What I think of multiple weapons in hands? The warrior is what matters not the weapon, have enough skill with your weapon and you can overcome any disadvantage. Dooku possessed great skill that allowed him to disarm Anakin when he wielded two lightsabers after all. Wielding one weapon or two, its your skill that matters. Know how to use your weapon to its full potential, note the advantages and disadvantages it may have over your opponents weapon or their fighting style and exploit it.

    I feel that it's actually more skillful and respectable when one can use a two lightsabers. It's much harder to master 2 blade then one. Yes you have and advantage in overwhelming your opponents defense but it also makes you more vulnerable and your defense easier to break. What I mean is your holding a saber in each hand thus making your grip and attack strength weaker. So if someone with 1 saber gets you in a saber lick they have a higher chance of overpowering you. Plus most duelist using 2 sabers use Ataru which is one of the most taxing saber styles. One of the best examples is Vader vs Ahoska. She is able to get through Vader's guard while other jedi who faced him around and after this time struggle to keep up. I'm just saying it's not cheap because you need to be quite skilled to use it effectively.
