I appreciate you for sharing! When I first decided to grow locs after this pandemic outbreak kicked in since last year of March. But then I had my first retwist which was made by my grandmother. But now I'm on month two of the regrowth. Love ❤️
The color is so pretty! Mine have color too but only on top, I think I’m going to color it again, but just wait a little bit first. Yours also had a lot of growth too.
Thank you!😊 yes, how much they thickened up surely surprised me! There are a few I was thinking about combining but I don’t know just yet. Good luck if you choose to go through with the combining process!
Hey! I actually started misting them with water/rose water around a month and a half. But I did wash my hair before I started misting them as well as allow steam to hit my hair in the shower.
Random question but method of parting is this?? I really love how it looks and it’s different from the traditional brick overlay parting. Btw, your locs are progressing beautifully !
Yup! If you begin your journey w/ the coil method it’ll lock on it’s own! No need for anything else really. But keep in mind the process varies based on hair type, texture, etc. I hope I answered your question!
It is possible for straighter or softer hair textures to loc via the coil method as well. It may take a little longer to loc but it is possible. You could use mousse to assist with this process, I’d say no heavy wax’s or gels. But to each it’s own!
I’m very mad cause it seems like the people who started with coils have thicker locs than the ones who started with two strands and I was told the opposite 😫
It depends! Thickness can really vary depending on a lot of things. Usually two strands do produce thicker locs. But locs thicken up and swell over time! How many months are you?
Within the first 5 months I’ve gotten my hair done by a loctician 3 times. The other 2 was by people I knew did hair but were not a loctician. I plan on self maintaining soon!
For those of you watching this video my prayer is that you ALL come to know JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH as your LORD AND SAVIOR. ROMANS 10:9 say that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that GOD raised JESUS from the dead we will be saved.
No I didn’t bleach. I used box dye. Clairol Textures and Tones. I bought a box of honey blonde and a box of flaming desire and mixed the two as I applied it to my hair. I also dyed my hair before I started my locs.
I’m no hater but I don’t think all that happened that quickly. Locs take “forever” to mature from the coil stage. Locs are beautiful but I don’t think it happened as quickly as the video depicts
Oh ok nice I’ve been growing out my hair awhile now waiting until I’m a good length before I start my locs I see you’re from NYC same here do you go to the same loctician or do you do your own retwists?
Shorter hair is actually said so loc a little faster! So if you think you have enough, you should go ahead and start! And I’m not from NY, but while in NY I’ve only went to one loctician, the video is on my page! I went to The Loc God Salon, they’re good! But now I’m going to self maintain my own locs. Do as much research as you can so you can pick the right loctician for you.
You are my new loc crush😍😍😍 Got me wanting to take my twists out and redo them.. again It would be my fourth time if I do 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤣 Did you start your own locs or have someone else start them for you lol count please??? I’m bout to check your videos now n see if you already shared how many you have✨
Aw thank you!🥰 and lol do them however many times you need to until you get it how you want it!! I initially had started them on my own with two strand twist but I wasn’t seeing much progress with that method. I couldn’t coil my hair myself so I asked my friend.😊 I believe I have 69 locs🌱
They thickened up nicely 😍
thank you :)
Seems like locs dont mind what texture you have, they'll send you on a journey no matter what, the way they thickened was absolutely beautiful
Thank you!❤️ & ALL journeys are beautiful!!
Love how think your locs are. The first 4 months were the hardest for me. Loving it now month 7! It really is a journey of self(hair) love 💛💛💛
Thank you!😊 I can’t wait to get to where you are!! It definitely is a journey!
I appreciate you for sharing! When I first decided to grow locs after this pandemic outbreak kicked in since last year of March. But then I had my first retwist which was made by my grandmother. But now I'm on month two of the regrowth. Love ❤️
Got my coils today and now it's time for the wait😩✊
It’s definitely going to teach you patience if you don’t have any😭. Good luck on your journey love!
omg I love your locs!! I’m on my way to month 3, and I must say, I love this journey 🤩!!!
Thank you! & the journey is beautiful isn’t it!!🌱🤍
The color is so pretty! Mine have color too but only on top, I think I’m going to color it again, but just wait a little bit first. Yours also had a lot of growth too.
Thank you! 😊
Thanks for sharing! I started my locs (both times) with two strand twists! I also have a channel documenting my journey! Love the color!
Thank you!😊
Love your locs I’m 1 month and 14 days in I can’t wait ♥️♥️♥️
Congratsss!! It’s a beautiful journey/process!!
Love your color and how beautiful they are I'm in 7 months and loving every minute of them.
Thank you so much! & congrats on your 7months💗
Wow!! Your locs are progressing beautifully. I hope mine thicken up like yours. I’m thinking about combining to get that thickness.
Thank you!😊 yes, how much they thickened up surely surprised me! There are a few I was thinking about combining but I don’t know just yet. Good luck if you choose to go through with the combining process!
Wow they’re so beautiful 😍
Thank you love!🤍
Hi! I’ve just started my locs with comb coils and wondering when did you start moisturizing them with water?
Hey! I actually started misting them with water/rose water around a month and a half. But I did wash my hair before I started misting them as well as allow steam to hit my hair in the shower.
Ok I’m late to this vid but damn ur locs thickened up so perfectly
Thank you! I’m going to make an updated video on my babies soon so stay tuned!!
Gorgeous!! 🥰😍😍
Thank you love!❤️
Random question but method of parting is this?? I really love how it looks and it’s different from the traditional brick overlay parting. Btw, your locs are progressing beautifully !
@Catherine Alexandra thank you! & they’re called “c parts” I wanted them parted that way but also kind of random. I didn’t want specific parting
@@tipsxtayy yes I love that it’s not super neat parting, it gives the locs a more organic look !
@Catherine Alexandra thank you!!😊
What happened in the current month, towards the end of the video. Was that a style or did they shrink a whole lot
I had my hair styled in 2 strand twists at the end!
How many locs do you have?
Hi love! I have 69 locs😊
Locs are looking great! Congratulations on Month 5!
Thank you so much!
I have a question, if your process is only coil like from the start then It'll lock up without a crochet or twist and ripped?
Yup! If you begin your journey w/ the coil method it’ll lock on it’s own! No need for anything else really. But keep in mind the process varies based on hair type, texture, etc. I hope I answered your question!
@@tipsxtayy is it possible in straight hair do it need any product?
It is possible for straighter or softer hair textures to loc via the coil method as well. It may take a little longer to loc but it is possible. You could use mousse to assist with this process, I’d say no heavy wax’s or gels. But to each it’s own!
@@tipsxtayy thanks a lot ❤️
Wow 🥵🥰sis what if you want to see your hair how do you unlock them
Just comb them out lol. A lot of water, conditioner, and patience.
Omg gurrrlll I go to the same loc place !!! In the dmv right ?!!
Yes! Karibbean Kinks👀
So pretty
Thank you! 😊

Did you retwist then yourself for the 5 months?

Gorgeous 😍😍😍
thank you love🤍
@@tipsxtayy You’re welcome!❤️ I just started my second set of locs in February and I’m documenting my journey as well.
Man, yours locked up FAST!!!
thanks! it felt like it!!
Or it’s a lie. I’ve never seen locs do that that quickly. And I’ve been a loctitian for 5 years now
🔥🔥💪🏾🤴🏾

Aye ❤️❤️
Thank you!❤️
@@tipsxtayy you welcome Suga
How did they get thicker ?
They just swelled up on their own. Thickness may also depend on your hair type, density, etc.
@@tipsxtayy ok thanks queen
Nice and thick ❤️
Thank you!😊

Hiw d I ud u get the colour

Yes it is a process! This video just depicts less than half of my process/progress. this video just shows from start to month 5.
I just started mine. Do you have ig??
yes! locduptay
@@tipsxtayy this was 7 months ago my guy 😂

Oh ok nice I’ve been growing out my hair awhile now waiting until I’m a good length before I start my locs I see you’re from NYC same here do you go to the same loctician or do you do your own retwists?
