God damn, I saw Portishead on my 18th birthday, back in 1998 and I was candy flipping which made it even better! Beth Gibbins performance was SO intense, her eyes connected with every person in that audience. At the end of the show she jumped down in front of the stage and shook hands/exchanged hugs with everyone in the front row, including me! Set a bloody high bar for other vocalists to meet after seeing her :)
1994, I was 21. doing all of the things young people do at university and nobody snapping or selfies, you could be a discoverer of who you are without the whole damn social media sticking it's large nose in.......happy days

Compare this to most of what passes as innovative pop/rock in 2020 and the comparison is pretty stark. We were lucky to have been alive when music like this was conceived , recorded and performed.

Its such a good song and so powerful when sang and played live. I back tracked some songs and now now I heard a couple before. This Glory Box and Roads have me zoning out, its like I need my daily fill of great music and this fits my Glory box.

Being from the US this is one of my favorite British artists of all time.
The really got me into trip hop and other Bristol (UK) music from the likes of
Massive Attack, Tricky, Smith and Mighty, Roni Size, Kosheen, Krust, Allflaws
Being a Bristolian is a badge of honour 😎... And music as good as this is still being produced here that is way ahead of its time.

I've recently discovered Portished, having remembered the name in the media through the years. I didn't really know their songs and then recently came across this Glory Box and I am blown away!!!!!! Its such a good song and so powerful when sang and played live. I back tracked some songs and now now I heard a couple before. This Glory Box and Roads have me zoning out, its like I need my daily fill of great music and this fits my Glory box.
