Had my '22 FX4 Maverick 16 months now and 9k miles. Love it! Best daily driver light duty truck ever! I have found the craftsmanship on mine to be mostly terrific. One gripe. The shiny black powder coat on the FX4 wheels is only on the outside where you can see it. Inside the wheels it is thin and many bare patches. Picked up a nail yesterday and took it for repair today so I found that out well when I cleaned the wheel to put it back on in the morning.

Awesome automation! Seeing the technology involved gives me confidence in my new Mavericks construction. And seeing the specialized workers doing the assembly using the robot technology is very cool and makes me wish I was there to observe it first hand.
here's hoping, mines somewhere on that very same assembly line. The 2.0l eco boost and 8speed seem to be a solid combo. I appreciate the fact that engine oil is a 5w30 so it will lessen the likelihood of gas getting in the oil. I will probably put an catch can to prevent value problems.
I'll be picking up my FX4 Maverick in a week. Love seeing how professionally they are put together! I got to visit it yesterday, still being prepped. Its a beautiful little trucklette!

@@JoshuaHults I have a rearfacing car seat in mine! She sits behind me and i'm 5'6" with no issues. If you only have one carseat could easily put behind passenger with tons of room to spare. Wish i could upload a photo here, but my pics are floating in the Maverick Truck Club Form and Maverick FB groups.
@@JoshuaHults I got to test one last week when they called and said they had one. No regrets on ordering already. My current car is a 2016 Gti and I do a lot of mountain biking. I just need something with a bit more ground clearance and AWD is a bonus. That car has been places it had no business being. You should be able to fit a car seat back there as the other user said. @@zeek7382 I saw a white Maverick at work a week ago. I walked around it and was able to tell it was the awd version. Looks really nice and surprisingly not as small as I had imagined. What I really like is that it definitely gives off a truck look, you can't mistake it for a suv at any angle you look at it.

@@HauTuGi If it helps, I put my order in on June 14th, had to upgrade to the AWD to get the 4k towing package, did that on September 25th and got a build date of November 22nd on September 30th.

@@martrg1 Have a maverick hybrid, bought it in October, 1,200 miles and counting, love it. Our 2017 explorer wasn't made there, but it's racked up about 26k over 7 years, also a great car.
This is awesome. For me, I probably will have to wait a few good years, and get one used. Recently lost my job of 7 years too so I'm trying to get back on my feet. They look to be solid made from a great clean factory, being built right along side of Bronco Sports. Very cool.
There will be ever more and more people losing their jobs because of this type of automation. These large Corporations are working day and night trying to figure out how to do everything they can without people. I would hardly call that awesome. Good luck on finding a job other than the low end service industry in the reality we now see before us.

@@Fedproman Yes and no, automation can cut jobs. But if millions of people lost their careers, these brands would sell significantly fewer products because fewer people could afford them. It's not like brands want to cut people out of the work force. Automation mostly exists to drastically improve the quality/reliability of the product long term, and out less physical strain on workers.
This video is a good example of how to apply automation. The ford engineers installed automation where it was cost effective and used manual processes where automation wasn't cost effective. Contrast this with Tesla where they install automation for the sake of automation.
I excited because i bought my new Area51 Maverick last night. Ive been looking at this truck since Ford was toying with the idea of making it. I never knew that Ford uses a permanent type rainX on the windshield also. Thats pretty cool. It has storage under the back seats, awesome and the dash has like a jeweled type texture on the passenger side. Plus those funky door handles. Those are so trippy looking. I love the look of all the little truck. The paint is awesome on it.
I just bought a 2022 Lariat with everything but moonroof and FX4 off road package. Didnt plan on getting the decked out Trimline. But the Dealership had ONE in stock. So, I jumped on it. Either that or wait for more to arrive which could be months! I've been bad mouthing Ford for 25+ years and now I bought one so that makes me a hypocrite! But I'm willing to make a bet on this one it seems like a winner so far!

Ordered a XLT Maverick on October 15. Got my build date on December 16 for the week of February 21. You enjoy your new ride. Excitedly waiting on mine.
I never wanted to buy a Ford after working on the old I-beam setup and having to replace heads that the spark plug threads blew out of. Then this little Maverick comes along and looks to be the perfect little gas getter for me to haul my dirt bikes. Tried to order one today and the dealer said I have to wait until orders for the 2023 model opens up unfortunately.
The use of blue in the interior is a plus imo. Gray and black interiors are extremely boring, I was going to gouge my eyes out if I had to drive in a colorless interior any longer. I see where you're coming from, the blue interior is harder to pair with exterior colors. But it works wonders with Area 51 amongst other things.

Can we verify the type of sheet metal material used to build the bodies and frames? IS it the same material that is used on F-150's? or is it a lesser grade material? Cause I know the radios in these stink compared to other ford models so just trying to figure out all the areas that cut cost in that they are not telling you that you would want to know.
Just imagine what it was like in Detroit, say 1965...I'm sure they had some automation but it probably mostly people assembling by hand as it came down the line...different times...

How come the tag on the left front “B” pillar door jam says designed in the USA and made in China. A friends new XLT says that. Maybe the Lariats are assembled in Mexico.
I think the made in China is for that specific part (cars have thousands of pieces that come for all around the world) because all the Mavericks are made in Hermosillo Sonora México plant.
I ordered my truck 3 months ago. Got a letter the other day saying that it would be built next year. So, my car will be nearly a year old when I get it. Doesn't that devalue my resale down the road?
Well next year could be in like a month and a half, 2022 is right around the corner, which puts it t around 5-6 months which is about how long its taking right now, your value will be there since no one or barely anyone has one yet, yours could sell for now cuz so many want one 👍🏻
The 2.5 hybrid is extremely reliable, so one could argue the warranty length isn't super important. But it's 8/100k for all the hybrid stuff, 5/60k for the rest of the powertrain 3/36k bumper to bumper. Basically the same level of coverage you get with most other brands like Toyota, Honda etc.

How come the tag on the left front “B” pillar door jam says designed in the USA and made in China. A friends new XLT says that. Maybe the Lariats are assembled in Mexico.
I think the made in China is for that specific part (cars have thousands of pieces that come for all around the world) because all the Mavericks are made in Hermosillo Sonora México plant.
I ordered my truck 3 months ago. Got a letter the other day saying that it would be built next year. So, my car will be nearly a year old when I get it. Doesn't that devalue my resale down the road?
Well next year could be in like a month and a half, 2022 is right around the corner, which puts it t around 5-6 months which is about how long its taking right now, your value will be there since no one or barely anyone has one yet, yours could sell for now cuz so many want one 👍🏻

I am seriously considering getting an XLT hybrid model, does anyone know what the warranty will be on these trucks?

The Battery pack and components are 8 years or 100,000 miles warranty for the hybrid!
The 2.5 hybrid is extremely reliable, so one could argue the warranty length isn't super important. But it's 8/100k for all the hybrid stuff, 5/60k for the rest of the powertrain 3/36k bumper to bumper. Basically the same level of coverage you get with most other brands like Toyota, Honda etc.
