- Manufacturing footage of the Ford Ranger and F-Series (F-150, F-650, F-750 and Super Duty F-250/F-350) trucks, built at the Ford US plants - Dearborn, Michigan, Kansas City and Ohio. Years: 1990-2022.

Ford has earned my unconditional admiration since they hired Alan Mullaly as CEO in 2006 after he lead Boeing's 777 program. Ford was the ONLY car manufacturer who didn't require government bailout during the 2009 crisis. My very first car was a 2003 second-hand Focus. Too bad the Focus line was discontinued. Tried to get a brand new in 2019 with no luck.
Great look at the automobile industry and the wonderful people that make it happen
I absolutely would love a tour of a Ford assembly line . Start to finish .I’d pay what I’ve been paying for sporting events . So cool .
Could you imagine what Henry Ford would think seeing how far his company came. I love my F150
And how many he would find on the road dead
Ford built his cars to last. Cars today are built like shit, with the government to blame.
I love how FORD kept the "traditional" design of the electric pick up , and not having it looking like some abomination designed by a pre schooler
Except they need to lose that goofy led light bar, looks terrible IMO but seems like all mfg. are putting them on their ev trucks...
I mean diferent strokes For diferent Folks
In the 1980s I often dined at the restaurant up the hill from the Ford F150 truck plant in Saint Paul Minnesota.
It was amazing, every 45 seconds a truck rolled off the assembly line at the Ford plant. Through a friend of mine, I was able to get a tour of that plant.
The process is incredible, all of those pieces and parts coming together and every 45 seconds a truck was completed.
I know this video is old, but my lightning is in production this week and it makes this video very satisfying to watch. 😂
Gorgeous looking truck, can't wait to see these babies on the road in the land of Oz 🇦🇺🇦🇺
I got a 2016 with the 5.0, just hit 160K miles, still drives like new! I saw my year in there
“I have” 👍
Where did you see a 2016 in the video? It’s all 2022 model year trucks.
@@PTRRanger951 @25:30, 27:43, 32:35. and more.
The 2015-2017 were the best looking F-150 front ends ever made. The 2018 and newer front ends look wimpier and wimpier.
@@PTRRanger951 they in there, you got to wach the whole video, even goes back to the 90's
There are also two Ford plants in Louisville, KY, one being a truck plant. Ford's first factory in Louisville was opened in 1913 as a small garage that assembled 12 vehicles a day. A new 4 story assembly plant was opened there in 1916.
Just got told my lightnings built cant wait
I love FORD 150! Very nice video, thank you.
Watching those robots all instantly come to life to weld the cabs looks like science fiction. It’s almost creepy- but incredible. It wasn’t that long ago mankind used horses to get around. The modern assembly line is a giant moving work of art.
Hope one of them is my truck soon from my reservation I put on last June of 2021.
Is there a way by VIN to watch your vehicle being manufactured? I think it would be kinda cool to see that!
It would just take some streaming tech and passwords and such. but there is a reason why doctors do not let next of kin in the operating room.
It would be cool but I can understand why this will never happen. Can you imagine all the complaints and warranty claims they will get. eg.. The guy putting the trim on my door gave it a little extra pressure. If you look under this microscope, I think its a little bit bent. It's one thing looking at the manufacturing in general, it's completely another thing when you know that is your truck. I know I would be watching and recording every tiny detail. Somethings are better off left unseen.
Love the F series.
Fun fact: Lightning has 2.5x the parts a gas F150 has....enjoy
Looks like everything should be "perfect" in regards to these trucks being built...I'm a Ford guy and ordered a '21 F-350 7.3 straight from the factory. It only took two months for it to arrive (this was just before the "supply issues") and with close inspection, there are plenty of fit and finish issues. Crooked panels, splotchy paint, screws driven in sideways, things that should have been attached firmly but weren't. In other words...some of the humans working on these vehicles get sloppy, lazy or simply don't care. It really shouldn't happen considering they're given enough time to do it proper...and no one is doing a thorough check on these things before they ship them out. I love the truck...I just wish it had been put together with more care.
Was hoping to see more frame assembly on the current Superduties to see if in fact the 5th wheel prep IS installed on the line and not after thee truck is built as some have suggested.
Make trucks affordable again.
I have an 84 Ford Thunderbird with more stuff on it then the newer cars. Just over 10,000 miles, I have a engine light when I open the hood, I have a console light, I have a glove box light and I even have a light when I get in the car for my feet. I don't have anything in my newer SUV.
I'd love to add some of them parts to my 85 f250 but no chips plz
I have a super duty in production right now in Kentucky plant .
Me too
Ordered mine 2 months ago. It'll get here some day.
What do you plan on doing with it? ,work, towing, hauling trailers, that’s what they are meant for
I hope this kind of production will happen in my Thailand.
Forever Ford
Is there a place they get an alignment and A/C charge before they leave the factory? Also how long does it take to program all of the ECMs with the assigned VIN starting at 0Miles?
Do u offer tours to members of Jan public?
Please hurry. I am waiting for my 22 or 23 F450 Limited.
Can you please do this with the mustang Gt and Mach E please more of the v8 version no one has done. That yet
I ordered an F-250 tremor June of last year!!!! no hint or sign that its even close to ready:(
You should use your platform to push the movie 2000 mules
great America
For seeing United States products the Cadillac escalade ESV Electric like the 2020 one day. 😭
The factory's are cool got a chance to go to the Taurus and Sable plant when I first started with Lincoln and mercury. Was the most efficient plant in the world at the time now its gone ATLANTA GA. Come on Ford bring a plant back to GA. Hyundai did.
Such a low price for an electric truck. They sure want people driving these, but is it worth the health issues down the road.
You can keep those electric vehicles,I will stick with my superduty diesel
It doesn't show how it is made from metal sheet to the car
You didn't have to wate a year to get a truck from Henry ford
No body is going too want a truck like that.
0:51 Dang they get to wear earbuds. I work at Navistar International, and nobody gets to listen to music on the shop floor.
Win beautiful red truck 👍👍👌👌🛻🛻🛻🛻
My new ranger has been sitting in a parking lot over 2 months built with a shipping delay. All the April ones have been shipped to customers already. I read the ones built Feb/ March that are parked in the lot with the unfinished Broncos have the soy based wire insulation being consumed by rodents at this point. The check box built is no longer checked off in the tracker like it originally was so something definitely happened to it. Ford is really destroying their reputation by not being honest with customers or dealers about the real delivery time frame. Tell the truth up front and don't keep promising a new date every week.
Good luck when you finally get it. A colleague had Ford take his Ranger back after two months with a blown up tranny. Got a full refund that he's applying to an F150 Hybrid. Not sure I'd have done the same, but he likes technology.
One big recall rolling down the line.
Still none of these trucks here in California
how bout that tow capacity tho....
What was that salmon coloured truck around 11:09? Fleet? Special run?
Looks to us like a F-150 Raptor in 'Code Orange Metallic'
I work at Toyota in Georgetown Ky. There a lot slower than us 👍 I build the ES350 Lexus
Toyota sucks import garbage cheap thin metal....oh yea the frame rot and vehicles break in half.....literally
@@toddbob55 🤣🤣🤣🤣🖕🏻
Todd bob he has to first names 🤣 there more American then your Ford
I wouldn’t mind buying a new lightning, I’ll wait for a year or two so the bugs can get worked out.
sold out 3 years. So no you won't.
Don’t waste your money…one of my neighbors has one…it’s not all that it’s cracked up to be…
Watch real world test videos on range and towing. You won’t want it anymore . Also don’t get stuck in traffic for long periods in the cold . You will die trying to keep warm. Real world tests prove electric will go the way of the compact fluorescent bulb.
Pity right hand drive versions aren’t made
I work building MB VW and BMW it's not very loud in your factory
Can't wait to get a Lightning F150. Base model costs less than my 2007 FX4.
Only due to subsidies. Your fellow man is paying for your purchase as well. Talk about socialism. Sickening.

When showing factories and machinery the worst thing you can do is play music. They do not go together.
now if only they were actually built like they were built in the US instead of what the hell theyre actually doing with this constant engine failures and what not
Put together like Lego bricks, cheap plastic and tinfoil. They want 50 per hour?
Sad when the turbo charger fails on the eco engine, You have to remove the cab to replace it!
BS
This isnt 1960 ...turbos are much more reliable now , every highway tractor trailer every long distance bus and all diesel locomotives are turbo charged , and check out European cars ...turbos every where over there , and we all know European cars and Asian cars are way better than North American cars !
It's nice it goes together as a unit...but to fix it takes hours of labor at your $... sigh
There’s still none of these trucks here in California there’s no vans Amazon bought them all Production is very slow
I think the idea of an electric pickup is awesome. But don’t force it down our throats.
Does anyone know what was happening at 3:20?
Payload calibration
Out of focus video as an art form????
Why don’t we catch up on current orders that were so far behind on Ford before focusing on these new electric pieces of junk… I put down my deposit in February I still haven’t even got a build date yet for my F250 just kept getting emails saying production has been delayed we are working diligently to try and get your truck built!!!
Been waiting for an F-250 since April 2021 that was ordered for a fire department, can't get any answers
Lemons. 10 speed transmissions that dealers can't fix harsh shifting. Plastic oil pans that leak the before the first oil change. Plastic valve covers that warp by 20k miles. 3.5 ecoboost engines that rattle upon startup. Dealers can't get parts to fix these lemons. I've had all of these issues on my Fords. Never again. Dealers have no parts availability to fix them.
Wow, this is why the car prices are insane, slow production and overpaid workers and management.
Not a fan of the electric f150. Some things should be left alone
sold out 3 years. no one cares what you think
My Lightning is scheduled for assembly in July. The Lightning factory is clean and bright. The ICE factory is dull and dingy.
Over price under power rot boxes cant take a new england winter
Good luck selling all those electric trucks
Demand has already outstripped supply.
FORD BUILDS THE BEST VEHICLES
Never
Ford owners are always talking trash how ford trucks are the end all be all trucks on the planet 9 out 10 trucks I see broken down by the road it's a Ford sometimes it's a Chevy or a dodge it comes down to matter of opinion ford is a household name because of Henry Ford so people assume it's super good vehicle lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
A Dodge looks just like Bill Gates when he was 16
Lightning = waste of money
Henry Ford would be Discusted ...
Why don't they show real trucks being , like gas engined trucks. Not China powered trucks!
To bad their quality in building trucks sucks now. Current owner of 2005 F150 & 2020 F350 Supper Duty. You right, Henry Ford would be pissed if he saw what Ford turned into!
Lost cause
Wow. I wish my industry was so gender integrated. I've worked with maybe 2 females in the last 15 years as a network senior systems engineer.
So this is where the junk is made😭
Ford going to go broke building this junk
Still cant get it right. Gm toyota all theway
Please do not buy this subsidized junk. Think for once.
Looks ghetto
Worst looking since the 80’s
Workers only perform simple tasks now. Robots actually "build" the vehicle.
