I'd be interested if you're able to repair a seized bearing on a oven motor fan. Some fans are super expensive (>£150) [Neff]

      Hi Paul,
You could replace the phosphorus bronze bearings if you can strip the motor. However, some motors are riveted, making it very hard to do. Another major issue is finding the right bearings. Phosphorus bronze bearings are designed for each motor, depending on the shaft diameter and bearing size. It’s a tough job.
Sometimes, it might be easier to get another motor. I know motors can be expensive, but you might find a cheap cooker on eBay with a different fault, like blown elements. You could take the motor from that cooker for yours.
Universal motors might also fit and are much cheaper, around £20-£30. But you need to match the exact dimensions. The shaft length is crucial; if it’s too long, it will push into the fan guard. If it’s too short, it will hit the back plate of the oven.
These motors are designed for cookers, but if you’re handy with tools, you could use a universal motor and mount it at the right distance.
I hope this helps you. What would really help me to get my video seen as I'm no IT expert is to either share the channel or at least post it to your friends my videos might not be RUclips superstars, but they save Appliances from the scrapheap. Share and help us fight appliance waste! @paulbuckingham9113 please remember to subscribe to our channel as that really helps us ruclips.net/user/shortse432SAb2g08 Thanks, Paul 👍

I'm really pleased the video was helpful to you. Could you do me a favour and take part in a poll I've made about the lifespan of appliances? You just need to tick one of two boxes. It will only take about 10 seconds. This might help us improve how machines are made in the future 😇
      Here's the poll question: www.youtube.com/@How-to-repair/community
Also sharing will get more people to participate and we will have a greater impact with the manufacturers thank you for helping.
