    Fujifilm has released firmware 4.10 for the xt5 and a handful of other cameras.
    This update includes auto focus revisions.
    Over the next couple days I’ll be testing the autofocus and I’ll let yall know if I notice a difference. Keep in mind I don’t use Fuji for video so I may not find much has changed.
    Thanks for watching!

      Ok, so I've been testing the update here and there the last few days and I can say that the tracking continuous autofocus definitely felt more confident. It felt as though it was locking on much more quickly and was seemed more confident in sticking to what it locked on too.
      I feel I should reiterate that I do not use fuji cameras for video and auto focus is not a major consideration for me when I purchase a camera. As long as it works most of the time I'm a happy photographer.

    Love the video. Take from his mom 😊 his journey really started when he was 7 with a Pokémon film camera

      Yup, and I still have that camera to this day. Probably should make a video about it.

    Such a good video that I could really relate to. Feel the same way about the XT5 and also using it mostly for documenting my daughter growing up!
    Making memories together is what matters! 👍🏻

    My daughter is almost the exact same age as yours, almost 20 months. The XT5 is such a great camera to document her childhood. Love the photos and casual approach to your conversation about the camera

      Awesome. I hope you’re having as great a time with your daughter as I am with mine. Thank you, I try to be as laid back as I can.

    I've had the X-T5 for a handful of months now, and I love it to death. I reach for it more than my other two cameras (at the time of this writing). As for the finish, I must be babying it. Not a scratch. But good to know.
    Loved the post, Seth.

      That’s great to hear. The xt5 is a great camera and hopefully it gets better with the upcoming firmware update.
      I always thought I babied my gear too. I’m glad you haven’t had any issues with your xt5’s finish.
      Thank you so much for watching and commenting so often. I appreciate it!

    Ya know, it does the job nicely. It’s one of those things where it doesn’t look bad, feels alright, and works alright. 👍 just a thumbs up all around.

      It definitely gets the job done, and I think that’s the most important thing.
      Fuji definitely has work to do to recover public opinion about their cameras. I’m glad that updates for the xh2, xh2s and gfx100ii were released yesterday. Hopefully updstes for the xt5 and other cameras come soon too.

    I don’t have AF with Photos either, the issue is with videos, I love my xt5

      Thanks! Also you’re in luck because I use mastin labs presets. Although I don’t recall which one I used specifically.

    I’d really appreciate if Fuji added 65:24 aspect to their 40MP X-series cameras-taping up my screen is not ideal :) Great hearing your thoughts on the XT-5 and seeing your amazing photography!

    • @sethpotterphoto
      @sethpotterphoto  Месяц назад

      It would be great if they’d add that in.
      Instead of taping up the screen turn on the rule of thirds grid and compose using only the middle sections. That’s what works for me at least.

    •  Месяц назад

      @@sethpotterphoto The rule of thirds crop works out to 4.5:1, but you could use the 24-grid setting to get 3:1-it’s still not quite 2.7:1, though. Also, the grid lines disappear in shadows and night photography. Personally, I like shooting through the EVF, so it’s a bit of a pain using tape. I’ve spoken to my man on the inside at Fuji, and he said he’ll pass on the request-so fingers crossed!

    • @sethpotterphoto
      @sethpotterphoto  Месяц назад +1

      You’re absolutely right, I use the grid as a rough guide not an exact means of composing.
      Also that’s great that Fuji might be giving us the ability to do an xpan crop in camera! Although I’m sure it’ll be a while before they do.

    I’d love to own the XT5 but no. I’ll wait for XT6. It really needed the XH2 EVF for me to pick it up. Not enough change from the XT4.

    • @sethpotterphoto
      @sethpotterphoto  Месяц назад

      I understand not wanting to own a camera because it doesn’t suit your needs or meet your requirements.
      Evf differences have never bothered me. As long as I can see through it and compose shots with it the evf has never mattered to me. But to each their own.

    • @robmcd
      @robmcd Месяц назад

      @ 3.69 felt incredible after shooting on 2.36. Since having a canon R5 I can’t go back to 3.69 and XH2S as well.

    • @sethpotterphoto
      @sethpotterphoto  Месяц назад +1

      Man, you must have much better eyes than I do because I genuinely can’t detect differences between evfs. Or maybe I’ve never cared enough to notice the difference.
      I also own a camera that has a 5.76 evf. I honestly can’t say I’ve noticed a difference when switching between the two cameras. I didn’t even know what the resolutions of either evf of the cameras I use were ‘till speaking with you. It’s simply never been important to me. All I need of an evf is enough detail to compose an image and a good enough frame rate to not be distracting.
      I appreciate your take on this and I’ll definitely look more closely at my cameras evfs in the future.

    • @robmcd
      @robmcd Месяц назад

      @ yeah I’m really surprised. I genuinely do not enjoy using the camera with a poor quality EVF. My A7iii was fine until I got my XT4 and then I detested using it. Also the magnification is really important too. The XT5 image is slightly bigger than the XT4 image. If you get a chance to use a Leica SL2 or LUMIX S1 it’s literally the best EVF on earth and looks absolutely incredible. Same resolution as XH2S but worlds apart.
