Me , " Had a crap day " , Has our Aussie pal uploaded some stunning views ? and yes, yes you have , thank you , nice cup of green tea , veggie curry and a couple of your lovely vids , now I can chill out
You find beautiful places. Yes you would be surprised what Sydney and sometimes other places have to offer if you have the time to go searching like you do.
Great video. Amazing that these beautiful places are hiding right there in suburbia. Crazy how that stick ended up in the door handle! I wondered how you went in those high winds. I drove the Hiace up the freeway in the high winds & got blown around so much. It was certainly an adventure lol. We were planning on staying the night up at a lookout I think I’ve seen in one of your videos but there were lots of trees above so I decided not to risk being under them in the winds so I ended up finding a spot that wasn’t under trees instead lol
Thanks Sally. Yeah, that bloody stick was really wedged in the door handle. Took a fair effort to get it out🙄 Wise move staying away from the trees...I always worry about trees falling on me, even when there's no wind 😂
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces me too. I’ve set up camp before & then realised there were trees above so I’ve moved the caravan lol. Better safe than sorry 🤣
Thanks for the sharing another vid J! Drosera or more commonly known as sundews - so you were right. We have quite a few up here. They like boggy areas where insects flourish! Usually a sign to look out for mosquitoes, and possibly leeches (when wet).... as you found out 🙂 I hope everything turns out ok for your mum, and for you. I am in a situation where I'm in between trips because of elderly Ps so I feel you. It's been months for me and I'm itching, verging on a rash now!
Omg what a lovely find those falls were! Thank you for being an adventurer & shareing these experiences with us! I also enjoy the bike trips, although i hold my breath a bit hoping not to stack from my couch lol!!
it is amazing the amount of nature, waterfalls, creeks etc. found around the suburbs of Sydney, we certainly live in a beautiful part of the world. thinking about your new lighting, Jason, when in areas you want to be stealthy are you able to go completely dark on the outside while having lights on inside
The new lights are pretty good, put the light where I need it and minimise what can be seen from outside. I will always have a little light leakage but I think I can get it to a point where it's not obvious. The back window is my main problem as it glows white from the outside....need to work something out with that.
I love the sound of whip birds❤️ The bike park looks a lot of fun. What are you thinking of covering your green ceiling with? Will you glue it or attach it some other way?
Seems to be so many Whip birds around these days....and Lyrebirds. The ceiling plan is over complicated....I need to rivet on some aluminium and ply framework, then I'll wrap ply sheets in fabric and attach that to the frame with double sided tape. Final but is putting all the LED strips in as well.....big job
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces When you do it can you video it please? I’ve got a composite roof/ceiling on my trailer which is thin. I glued insulation to the ceiling. I thought about doing what you described but wrapping ply with 4 way stretch auto carpet.
Your video production is absolutely out of this world mate. You give us everything from wilderness education, beautiful scenery, a bit of van building, cooking classes and the odd freakish incidents (like sticks in door handles etc lol). Very entertaining Jason, thank you. I know it's not very video worthy but you definately need to get yourself a couple of good books and try and chill. Slow your pace down a bit! Keep up the great lifestyle Bluey.
😁 thanks mate, love the feedback. Surprisingly, I do get plenty of time to chill...just in my own special way 😂. I actually spent quite a lot of time in all these places I visit which I don't think comes across in the videos. I don't like sitting still for too long, though 😁
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces You do a great video all round Jason and as you said we're only witnessing your recorded action and not the down time. We were worried for you and didn't want you burning out. Thanks for clarifying 👍
I really enjoyed that video, you always seem to find such random beautiful spots to explore 😁 this one was so pretty. I also enjoy watching your riding skills, looks like lots of fun. Thanks for sharing, look forward to seeing your next one 😊
Hey Jason. Have you filmed and discussed the equipment you use for your videography/vlogging in a past episode? If so, can you direct me please? If you haven't, would this be something you could perhaps incorporate into one of your future episodes please? Another great drop this one, thank you. Cheers mate.
Thanks mate! I actually only use a GoPro hero 9. I have an old Sony Digital still camera which I'm using for the zoomed shots, but it only records video at 1080p....needs an upgrade! So it would be a pretty short video 😂
The places you discover never cease to amaze me! Absolutely beautiful! Just wondering which colour you'll pick to cover over the green insulation? Hmmmm.....let me think 🤔🤣
We we're meant to be staying at Narranbeen Lagoon this weekend and was excited to see it in your last video. Sick child though so we're at home. It was meant to be a sunny day today but not here in Burwood.
At least you have a sick child keeping you home on a rainy weekend 😁 Definitely worse if the kids are sick and the weather is good. I'm sitting in the van watching the rain right now....nowhere near as much fun 😊
@@MakingStuffGoingPlaces Yes we already thanked her this morning. Lucky we got credit for our cabin so we'll try again in a month or so when it warms up
It was a great video Jason. The detail of your day is really quite an education for us aspiring van lifers. That stick flying up off the road and jamming inside your door handle was quite the freak incident. I just googled that little carnivorous plant and as you said it was a sundew. I've seen lots of them in my travels. Anyway, all the best for your future journeys and I'll be looking forward for the next video. Cheers and thanks, Sean.
Not easy at all! I guess if you can sleep through the noise of traffic, it would open up a whole lot more street side possibilities, but I'm a very light sleeper 😂
Yeah, definitely works. I was wondering if I was losing some heating efficiency as the pan was a little further away from the induction top, but when I removed it, there was no change to the rate of simmering...very scientific test, but seems to make no difference other than stopping the pan vibrating away
Just a question ,how did you attach the foil board to the roof and do you have it in the wall's ,I ues it in the building trade and have never seen anyone using it like that ,great idea.
The boards are attached with polyurethane adhesive, via spacers (very important to have an air gap) directly to the sheet metal. I then used either silicon or expanding foam around the edges to give additional support and stop the squeaking as they move. Van walls have foil board in a couple of places and the rest is polyester batts.
Shop around!! I'm now with Bingle, van only insured , not the conversion, for $800ish. Got a quote from KT insurance for about $1500 that includes all the contents as well. Also had quotes up to $3000....
Some hidden gems again. Spectacular scenery. That branch!! Haha. The birdsong is lovely.
Thanks Pauline 😊
There's so many amazing places around that area!
Such gorgeous scenery!
And it's everywhere! 😁
Great viewing....son lives in Sydney and we,ve explored some great areas around the harbour....😊
Thanks 😊
Plenty to see around town!😁

Hope you have a better day today!
Think these are my most favourite places you've taken us to so far
There's a lot packed in to a small area there. Beautiful spot! 😊
bushwalking, canoeing and mountain biking ... just goes to show you can live a very healthy life in a van
Absolutely 😊

I've already bought the material for the ceiling. 2 colours to match my lounge...yes....blue 😂
Good stuff m8 where are you storing you bike ? Mine (ebike) under my bed (in Iload) :p I float around west pymble

Yeah, never a dull moment in my days, even if it is just a flying stick 😂. Funny now, but not so much at the time...
It's a constant challenge finding a legal place to stay overnight in the Northern Beaches, isn't it?

I saw that you had your silicon matt next to the pan when you were cooking lunch. Is it working for the slopey sites?
