I'm guessing the past Christine dies when the mirror shatters and falls on her, causing the Phantom to scream in heartbreak. She is then reincarnated into the future Christine
Despite the slasher version of the story Its a surprisingly good movie Music is great, performances are well done; especially with Robert Englund this being one of his best if not his absolute best. Charming, sympathetic, mysterious and terrifying And despite not being a musical like Weber's version Some moments are remnicient of lines from his musical The scene where she denies the phantom in the past fits the line "the tears I might of shed for your dark fate Grow cold and turn to tears of HATE!"
Can someone explain the ending? Was the whole thing a dream? Is Chris a reincarnated version of Christine, or something? Is the Phantom a demon? I’m a little confused
Late reply but I always saw her as the reincarnation of Christine and that the phantom (iirc was granted immorality in a way by the devil and his deal so) was the same person as Erik in the past and Dr. fostor now
@@Alex-jg2bc yeah the Phantom made a deal with the devil and he’s lived all this time. He can’t die until his music is destroyed (albeit he himself could be the music so it’s weird) It’s why he’s so scarred
Yeah, it was pretty weird. I kind of see it as part of the curse, if that makes sense? Like, he’s immortal, and, since he put his ring on her finger, it bound her soul to him. “Our souls are one.” So, even though she got away from him in her past life, her soul was still connected to his, and was cursed to cross paths with him again. He waited a century for her to be reborn. “I have waited a very long time for you to come back to me, my dear.” He knew she would come back. Honestly, trying to explain it just makes it even more confusing. I think it’s really just open for interpretation.
say what you want about this film adaptation you have to be a lost for words for this 0:48 it just lets you forget all the murderous things in this film and at least a single tear will drop down your eye
It was the Robert Englund and Gerald Butler versions of the Phantom of the Opera and Mysterio from Spider man and the charms of Val Kilmers Bruce Wayne that inspired me to create a character named Thomas Destler also known as the Fear Phantom a traumatic hero who ensures that no one suffers his fate. He longs for eternal peace in the end upon realizing that revenge is not the answer. He is a future DC teenage superhero who helps the JSA and even worries about Yolanda but even they at times fell in love with each other. He comes from a family who love and converted to christianity although they are descendants of a French family that was raised in Catholicism. He does love the idea of having true friends that's why he believes in the rules of saving people.

1:13 OMG!!!, if he puts that face for the whole movie, he doesn't even needs to use makeup!
WTF. His music. Everything is burning. He should be freaking out!!! His music is his life! Englund is SO BAD in this. His acting is revoltingly horrible.

I was thinking the same thing.
That's a cool idea, I've never thought of it
"The tears I might have shed for your dark fate grow cold and turn to tears of hate!"

The creepiest part is when it zooms up on his face and he yells "Christine!!!"
isn't he from nightmare of elm street cool, I like that series of movie
Yep he's Freddy from noes
I found it kind of sad...he was calling out for her heartbroken.
@@littlesongbird1 I found it incredibly sad as well
This is the only version I hoped Christine would kill Erik.
I personally had hoped he'd kill her.
:\ i liked the other movie version better
I still loved him.
@@TheBlackLakeSiren same lol
Tbh this Erik scared the hell outta me
The only Phantom to shake off bullets in true slasher fashion
I'm guessing in the past, Christine dies probably by the mirror collapsing on her. Erik was so distraught and heartbroken
Actually, she just broke the mirror with the lamp but, I really don't get how she died. I think she fell but, from where??? :/
She probably fell on a sharp rock and broke her head or neck on it.
Can someone explain the ending? Was the whole thing a dream? Is Chris a reincarnated version of Christine, or something? Is the Phantom a demon? I’m a little confused
It was a flashback to a past life or something weird. So yeah, I think you're right lol, I was a little confused too
She time traveled when she was unconscious. At least that's how I viewed it.

Did they base that old video game Return of the Phantom on this movie?
Wait y did Christine had a gun
If Erik really looked like Robert Englund, then i would have chosen him. Lol...
Ok I like the 2009 version better

I wonder what happened to the inspector?
It that Matt smith
+Megaman 20XX That is Robert Englund

You don't have to be so horrible about the film. It's excellent, everything Robert Englund makes is excellent.
