    So grateful I found you! We live in an 1898 Queen Anne that needs a tremendous amount of work to restore it, even to a livability level (can't open the double hungs and the "modern" storm windows are gross. Anyway, thanks for sharing your knowledge and skill.

    I like the music.
    “..restoring windows isn’t for everyone. Side effects include, pride, ownership, durability and longevity. Be honest with yourself if restoration is right for you.”

    Thanks Scott. There are not a lot of people in the world left like you. Thanks for bringing things back to life while most people throw them away. If it ain't broke don't replace it. Just fix it. You are one of the few that can. Continued success.

    Hi Scott, We use a composite nailer to fasten material to our CNC bed. Works fantastic and no longer cutting through screw heads with a $100 router bit. I like this one you've shown a lot though. Also love my Festool sanders. Glad to see you using them as well. Sure miss you guys over there in CFL. Be well Brother. John VR

    AMAZING...I'm a fan. What is the type of tool are you using to remove the old nails in the beginning of the video?

    Do you do your own putty glazing too? I am a joiner, learned woodwork in a sash shop, I will ALWAYS love those double hung sash. We are similar, why buy new, when you can repair?! We are the future

    Can you please tell me why I would have nails in the underside of my bottom sash of old single hung windows?? Where it meets the trim, 2 on both located far sides near edge at stop. Trying to add weatherstripping and these stick out beyond the frame so they’re in the way!! Scared to remove 🥴

    If a sash joint is very loose, should you glue the joint and then pin it?

    • @marklittler784
      @marklittler784 3 года назад

      Victorian windows were wedged together not glued usually without metal pins too, modern glues are stronger than the wood so its almost impossible to dismantle them without damaging them, old furniture used heated glue that you can dismantle with heat without damaging it.

    Very interesting. Are those compounds Restauration products ? You tested them before ? Finally : the epoxy is for stopping the wood filler to humidity the wood ? Bravo again for all your hard work . I am slowly going into that domain
