Watching NA overtake EU for third highest quality play has been a beauty and it only took us a decade
In fairness, there was year-ish period between worlds 2018 and MSI 2019 where NA also arguably jumped up to 3rd best...but it was leap-frogging Korea's slump while EU and China rose to the top for a spell.

Bold comment after MSI. TL looks legit, but the rest of the LCS teams don‘t look like anything special.
Reading too much into a regions strength based on what you saw them do, regionally, has never been a good idea.
Same could be said about EU. It’s always been about G2. I think Tl is better though this year and C9 looks superior to fnc
People forget there was about 1.5 year that EU couldn’t beat NA. Not one game at worlds or Rift rivals(or battle of Atlantic) I forget. All stars etc. they could not get a game off NA

As a long time TL fan, I approve of these predictions
I think the only issue here is that you predict NO changes in team form when historically, there is always a team that outperforms their regular season. Honestly I could see NRG or DIG rise up and make it further or Flyquest hard slump and falter against NRG early leading to a really contorted bracket.
Idk about historically, but in the regular season the gap between top 3 and the rest is huge. Only way I can see any of the top 3 missing worlds is if the new patch changes the mid and jg meta significantly. Flyquest is the most likely to buster out but I still doubt it happens.

I'd rather have a Dark Horse like NRG or 100 Thieves in our third slot for worlds than FlyQuest.

You mentioned that every team needs 2 losses to be kicked out. Does this mean that if TL or C9 run the winners side all the way to finals and then lose one series in finals they get to rematch? This would be similar to a bracket reset in smash?
There’s no bracket reset. The team that wins upper-bracket finals only gets side selection in grand finals as their benefit.
@GriffinStation that's dumb. Side selection for first game is not enough of a benefit to go undefeated just to have an unlucky set. They should have a bracket reset
So wait, this is the favorites in every match, no? Good predictions, but highkey I think the weirdest thing to me is that I feel like Dig matches up well against TL, but poorly against Flyquest, so legit facing TL after this first round might be good for Dignitas.
Looking forward to your God-tier casting, your persons are absolutely reasonable and as much as I want to have faith nrg just seems like they're going to implode any minute now. Would love an upset though

As a c9 fan i wish but TL seems like a well oiled machine. The way they kept going head to head versus T1 at MSi and that other tournament was probably the best performance I’ve ever seen from an NA team in the last decade. This team is extremely good.

Barring any huge upsets I agree with this. I do think if there is a dark horse for playoffs it is DIG (Thank you Phreak for the Orianna Azir buffs) Also I hope they give adcs the skarner treatment, nerf them to shit then slowly bring power back cause this is getting ridiculous. almost as bad as ardent meta.

These would be better if you spent time talking about how the underdogs could win and make an upset. These NA teams are not consistent enough (with the possible exception of liquid) to have absolute confidence that the underdogs wont win. All teams have strengths and more importantly they all have clear weaknesses. For example, in c9 vs liquid, c9 can take advantage of the fact that jojo is the stronger laner than APA, and also that umti will likely be on supportive junglers every game. If blaber is able to step up on an aggressive jungler and put umti on the back foot, and jojo is able to get prio in mid, then c9 can run the map in the early-mid game and snowball. The problem is that blaber is inconsistent and jojo did very poorly in spring playoffs, hence liquid is the favorite.

I feel like both rematch for 100t/dig and c9/tl are too easily pushed aside. Yes dig might be better than 100t but their rematch are going to be when 100t wins vs nrg and dig would have been stomped by tl. Huge mentality gap right there.
Similar a bit for tl/c9. Tl might win the first time but the rematch will be when c9 would have won vs fly the day before on the big stage. So better stage prep and a mentality boost.
I don’t think the mental means anything but I feel like those rematches are def going to be unpredictable.
Dig is the 4th best team in the LCS and they have prove it, they will beat 100T twice.

Idk if I like that we see 3 repeats of a best of 5. Theoretically we see Dig vs 100T twice, Cloud 9 vs Fly twice, and C9 vs TL twice. Seems kinda wack. Definitely want to see the best teams sent to worlds though. So hopefully this format works out and isn't just a rock paper scissors luck of side selection.
I'll start with the disagreements (surely its true and not just a 100t fans copium) I honestly feel that 100t has a lot more in the tank than you're giving them credit for. I think tomo has breathed life and direction into our previously directionless team. (Still might need more copium to have them beat a tl or something... but a guy can dream)
Would love to watch Fly bottom out in playoffs and not make worlds. Give me 100T so I can watch Sniper internationally.
