    About 4 or 5 years ago my wife accidently bought these at Walmart. I had asked her to get me some blades in a package with a new handle and showed her my name brand razor. She came home with an Equate razor and blades. I gave it a try. I liked them and never went back to my old brand. Decent shave at a good price. Quality has been consistent over the years. Still using that first handle. The lube strip wears away long before the blades need changed, but that is not a big deal because I use a decent shave cream.

      its definitely not a bad razor and has a bit of weight to it in a good way. I have always found the gel strip to be mainly pointless myself as like you I use a shave lubricant all the time. guess they may come in handy is dry shaving in the shower.

    Besides, it brings a package of metal sheets that I would like to know what they are used for, thanks

    Equate keeps changing their razors. I bought one a year ago that was a copy of the Gillette Proglide now they no longer make refills for it!!!

    Can only use them once and they dull already. Yes are cheaper but they don't shave as close either. I won't buy again

    I have personna magnum m5 razor. Work very well than the gillette fusion, dollar shave club and is not expensive!

    I had used gillette 5 blades for a couple of years then switched to equate 5 blades these past 6 years or so to save money on cartridges. A couple of weeks ago I needed new cartridges so asked my wife to get them while shopping.
    Turned out she didn't know what cartridges to get so simply got me a new gillette fusion 5 razor and a 12 pack of cartridges. I had used equate so long I had simply forgotten that gillette is indeed a far superior shave and I noticed it instantly. Plus the cartridge is still as effective 2 weeks later as it was on the first day.
    That isn't the case with equate cartridges which will dull far quicker. Gillette is indeed a superior blade while i feel equate is a false economy. I feel the 12 pack of cartridges my wife got will probably last a year so at around $32 for the pack you're talking a little over 60 cents a week.
    That's not too much to pay for a far superior blade.

      @30DayReviews  3 года назад

      thanks for your thoughts. I found them both to last me about the same amount of time. tat being said I rather pay 10$ for a year plus of blades and use a De Razor nowadays as I find I get a much better shave with those than I ever did with a Cartridge razor.

    I use a vintage Gillette DE razor which came to me free. Use Personna blue ("Comfort Coated") DE blades. These are the only DE blades still made in the USA and Amazon sells 100 for $15 plus shipping. Each blade lasts a week of shaves (2 weeks if I shave every other day). DE shaving gets some getting used to if you are used to cartridge 5 blade razors or disposables, but definitely cheaper in the long haul and I get better shaves.

    Nice I like the 4 and 5 blades with razors, they shave well especially if you have thick hair.

    • @30DayReviews

      yea I dont see a difference with more then 3 blades

      I just like more than one blade lol but maybe i got app with the five blades, I did use a three blade wayyy backso I have to use one again to compare myself. You think there's not a big difference between the 3 and 5 huh? interesting. got my dad the four blade what vibrates he loves it.

    The Equate razors are all rebranded Personna's. The razor your reviewing is actually the Personna Caliber 5.

    • @30DayReviews
      @30DayReviews  6 лет назад

      yup, but the brand on the logo is equate so that's what I reviewed it as but its good to know that people can use this review for the personna as well. thanks for the info

    How do you get the new razor heads out of the plastic holder? I must be dumb because I can't figure this out.

    • @30DayReviews
      @30DayReviews  7 лет назад +1

      HA yeah I had the same issue. you remove old blade and then put the handle in a new blade and kinda pry it out of the holder so the blade never ends up loose. it's in the container or its on the handle. Hope that helps

    I'm always shaving electrically but on my recent visit to the States the battery had drained somewhere during the flight (where it was full and usually lasts for 8 weeks so no need to take a charger). Looked for a charger but that didn't work out well and finally decided to buy something else and came upon this one at Walmart for I guess $6 with one extra blade. First time I tried 'wet' shaving. But results are good. Cuts shorter than doing electrically. Do both now side by side.
    I have one question though: are there other brand cartridges compatible with this razor? I'm googling but can't find it. Maybe some Gilette or so?

    • @30DayReviews
      @30DayReviews  5 лет назад

      I do believe that those are the same as persona blades so you may be able to find them under that. I have added a link for them in the Description as well

      @@30DayReviews Thanx. Unfortunately it seems I can't ship it to the Netherlands. Well, I'll see if I can find an equivalent overhere or just buy a new razor. They aren't that expensive though. ;-)

    So how do you get the goddamn razors out of the package

    • @30DayReviews
      @30DayReviews  5 лет назад

      empty the handle and place them into one of the new razors then pull. you might have to put an angle on the handle before you pull for it to pop out as it should. took me a little bit to figure this out as well. hope this helps

    $10 more for 8 blades? Where are you shopping? In MA 4 blades cost $25. I stopped using Gillette because apparently they don't give a shit about fleecing John Q. I tried a couple of the subscription brands but found their products substandard. I finally bought a Braun electric.

    • @30DayReviews
      @30DayReviews  6 лет назад +1
