Tiocfaidh ár lá freedom to all the irish people be patient only a matter of time but god help this country if the referendum doesn't go in favour of freedom for the whole of Ireland then another war will break out and irish people will not stop to go peacefully again we will say well we tried that road and nothing prevailed rip to all the soldiers who died in hope for freedom .amazing to see all the young one participating respect from springhill/ballymurphy
Just learning about my Irish great grandfather and the atrocities the government of the country I was born in committed in Ireland. Started listening to the so called rebel songs, love this one, grace, doggy dew, come out you black and tans. They don't teach what happened this side of the sea. I've just started learning Gaelic as well, couple of days in on Duolingo as the brits tried to wipe out the beautiful Irish language.
I hope one day I see a United ireland. I am not Irish myself but an American. Yet, I can’t imagine another country, in this case Great Britain, having the final say in my life even if that other country doesn’t really interfere into my private. I think as an American, it is just the idea that another country who is literally across a body of water, having the final say. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
I’m curious, as my ancestors completely Irish on my mother’s side( O’Donoghue) … What is this ? I understand what the song is about mostly… What is the occasion? These people in uniform? Are they a local Irish Militia? Erin Go Braugh ❤
The song is about an Irish pirate queen sold to the English and how Irish warriors will route all the foreigners from the island. The men here are local nationalists marching in memory of Bloody Sunday, 1972.
@@FreeTruthShow I’m not sure what it means here specifically. It's just a common Irish Republican symbol, originally used by the socialist republican Irish Citizen Army.
Traditionally women have been involved in Irish government and to a certain extent, Irish wars for centuries. My great great grandmother was what some might call a spy 1918-1919. She was an old woman at the time but would go into the village and watch what the auxiliaries were doing then report back to the Irish Republicans. Grace O'Malley was a symbol people rallied around during the revolution and features in this song. Some women actually donned a uniform and picked up arms and fought, in fact, as I understand it, a great many did. Ireland had for centuries been a pioneer in women's rights until the British got involved and even then did what they could when they could.

@@adammacgreagoir4924 thank you for the explanation.
He He, you think militias are legal in Northern Ireland.

With respect, why is the European flag being held?
Good question !
That’s probably the Starry Plough you’re looking at. I don’t see an EU flag.
@@donalbreathnach244 You are right. I see now. Thanks for clearing that up.
@@donalbreathnach244 What does the starry plough represent here? Semiotics, symbolism does interest me.

Erin go bragh
Why are singing women in military uniform here?
because women were also involved in the Easter rising(even if the only one who was wearing the uniform with trousers was Markievicz).

Our history is too militant? Its people singing a song dressing in old milatary uniforms. Theres nothing offensive about this.
