Whenever the demo rush for these new pedals comes in, I skip almost everyone and head straight to guys like you. No fluff, just straight up amazing sounds
That Env Trem part, Echo Cassette, Suboct Swell sounds amazing with your bass, Sample&Crush, Prism Shift is out of this world (this one reminds me to a combination between Mercury 7 and Polymoon with Hedra), Geometric sounds like something I've heard only with very powerful samplers like Kontakt, H Syndrome is a very good one too ... Another great demo Zach!
Comparing to two pedals I've had in the past: This looks like a tempting sweetspot between full modular control like the Zoia and preset surfing like the Microcosm. It seems like you can make the sound you have in your head where in the Microcosm you are limited to their (awesome) presets, but the UI looks so much more joyous to use than something like the Zoia (obviously, this can't do tons of the stuff a Zoia can do, but thinking about using it as a signal effector).
Hey Zach, wondering how much you can use LVX to cover the functions of other Meris pedals like Hedra? I don’t own any Meris stuff yet, wondering if it would just make most sense to get LVX if it can cover much of what the small form pedals do.
I'm a guitarist but i find your tutorials more useful from the guitar ones. Thank you. Expecting my lvx to arrive any day now. You mentioned that the bitcrusher is in the modulation section. I thought it was in the preamp section, am i wrong?
@ZacharyRizer Thank you. Have you been able to recreate the stutter mode of the ottobit with the lvx? If yes, how, and if no, how would you approach it?
@@iosifkalpaktsoglou2045 to my knowledge the LVX doesn't directly have/support this kind of stutter effect. You can get some glitchy sounds with the granular processor, and some multitap delays. But it won't have the controllability of the Ottobit.
@ZacharyRizer I see. I love the stutter in the ottobit but I wish there was a wet/ dry mix as it completely blocks my dry signal. I place it in an fx loop of another pedal to overcome this issue. One thing I have not been able to find a solution to is how to control how often it occurs. I d love to see an expanded version with wet dry mix, control of how often the stutter occurs, choice of specific speeds in the random mode, envelope and lfo controls of parameters.
Hey Zach, does this pedal have an option to freeze or extend a delay infinitely? On my strymon bigbsky I can do that and it's great, would love to have that in delay as well!
Honestly I'm not sure, Meris is releasing all kinds of updates for this thing. So if it doesn't do it currently it probably will soon! But honestly it might already do it. LVX is a powerhouse.
@@ZacharyRizer I guess what I’m getting at I definitely want it to go the basic stuff good but have the option to experiment. I’m very new and naive to the experimental world but would like to introduce myself to it. However to throw the big bucks at it I’d love for it to have some good basic tones that are easy to dial in like a nice tape delay
@@empathysgone96 it has absolutley gorgeous standard delays as well as crazy stuff. Can definitely be an overall end point for delay. From subtle to wild.
how is the tracking/sound of the polyphonic pitch shifting? would it be comparable to a pog? (also could it do one octave up and down at the same time?)
Definitely not like the Hog or Pog. It is quite similar in sound and tracking to the pitch shifters in the Hedra. A bit more warbly, but still quite useable. The main intention is to use them on the delay line, but they still can work to an extent on the dry signal.
I never have played a Polymoon actually (one of the few Meris pedals I haven't played). But the stereo field is lovely in my opinion. This video is all in stereo, so it might give you a bit of idea if listened to on headphones.
Was this a paid promotion? Did you get the pedal for free? Or is this your unadultured opinion because you purchased it with your own money? Are the consumers who have to pay $600 for this pedal funding your free pedal? How does this all work, a lot of peopel suddenly have this pedals= but its not yet for sale... are we the potential consumers fotting the bill?
I was part of a very small team of people who were beta testing this pedal. I was not paid or told what to say, but I did get the pedal for free in trade for my feedback. My opinions in this video are my own and not influenced in any way by Meris.
@@John-e4p1x That's not how getting gear for reviews works in the first place. Even if you do get something for free, it doesn't affect the paying customer
@@arsenije_wav8620 On some level it does, and it must. Its giving away stock for free. I dont care if its "ad money turned into pedal gifts" then what about the paying customer? Incredible demo Zach. Added this to our Meris LVX playlist.
Amazing! Cant wait to dig in more!

Wow. This thing sounds and looks incredible. Looking forward to your deep dive as always!

I was thinking the same, with the convenience of only needing one pedal, the LVX.
@@ingreynelg Empress is a great company.
Can’t wait for that deep dive too.
Amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely demo! I need this pedal ASAP 😄
Wow great video. Very in depth. I so want one of these now.
Thanks! Going to dig a lot deeper in an up coming video!
Meris says it's "Powder white with accent flakes", but in this blue room, it sure does look Lavender/Sky blue-ish.
It is definitely very white. Haha.
Wow so you can make the pedal as a Compresor or Preamp if applied to dry signal?
Yes, you can apply any of the other effects to the dry signal!
Diggin it.
Jeez I'm getting this for my ambient Bass board ..Meris rules for lush soundscapes in a pedal..
Yes they do!

I'd say it doesn't fully cover any of the other pedals except the poly moon. But it does get you about half way there with the hedra and ottobit.

@Zachary Rizer I believe it. Ok fine Meris, take my money.
I just have to ask what kind of six string bass are you playing and what is your tuning low to high?. .thanks in advance
Dingwall ABZ six string tuned low b to high c.
Great job! Man so if you need a few random basic delays with modulation or tape maybe go elsewhere huh lol. But it sounds so good!
I mean it can do amazing subtle delays, but this thing excels at new sonic territory!

Is the meris hedra completely included in the lvx?
No, not quite. But it can do much of what all of their smaller boxes can do.
Does it have reverbs in it?
Not exactly, but it does a diffusion modifier that can get into reverb territory.
They shouldve called this pdal the "pop up ad." Becase thats what it feels like every time you touch a knob.
