In this video titled EU4 A to Z - Can I MAKE EVERYONE COMMUNIST As Dithmarschen I do a playthrough as Dithmarschen in Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Dithmarschen , and I attempt to enforce the Peasants Republic government form on 10 nations, basically making the communist while at the same time trying to form Italy. So let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future. If too many Provences are owned by peasants republics the emperor won’t have the option to crush the rebellion. The peasant republic CB is against any monarchy in the hre.
Some pit falls I had was Austria demanding unlawful territory constantly even if I’m at war. I didn’t expect this so my hre vassals had low opinion of me, taking parliament without revoking some estate privileges first so I was unable to revoke privileges.
Own 20 provinces which have a name starting with the letter D. Renaming doesn't count.
@@teddys5775 also theocracies and probably also works for hordes, just NOT republics
The only way to stop Red Hawk taking strengthen noble privileges is to make sure there’s no nobles
I think Red Hawk is a noble, that’s why he always strengthens the privileges, it’s his own privileges!
when you get to a particularly strong nation you should try to spawn Jan Mayen of the synths and beat them

I love how all of these series about Dithmarschen go the route of "they will see the light, or we will 'convince' them to see the light :)"

0:48 The ruler is a "achtundvierziger" which is a german word for a person that participated in the revolution of 1848
Actually, Achtundvierziger is the proper name of the ruling council of Dithmarschen, which consisted of 48 judges - it does not refer to the March revolution that took place 27 years after the end of EU4
@@schokjo8757 It does not actually mean that achtundvierziger, its just a funny coincidence
@@Letsplaypasi yea I just wanted to point that out so non-German speaking people know why Dithmarschen's ruler is the Achtundvierziger at the beginning

Dortmund, as the largest city of the Ruhr region, was once one of the world centres for steel, so why not get the strategic trade goods bonus for trading in iron after conquering every iron province in the 1444 HRE
That sounds long
@@carltonleboss not really lol iron is somewhat common in the hre but if you play it right you could probably do it by 1600
2:48 In a peasant's republic, land IS the means of production. Mind blown.
21:40 "Can we spread it to He- nope, guess not." Idk why that makes me laugh so much
Dortmund is a free city right? Conquer all the other (starting) free cities in the HRE. Similar to the one where you conquered all the starting electors.
Let's go!! Are you planning on doing a new guide for them for 1.34?
Maybe!

Hey, it's super easy to colonize Africa, swap to Sunni and the stupidly OP ideas make it the ideal Caliphate. Plus, Muhammad was an illiterate peasant so it only makes sense for a peasant republic to take up the Mantle of the Prophet.

FYI peasants Republic was more anarcho-capitalist. They weren't collectivist at all, just without a feudal lord.
Dithmarschen is a good country, but i rebember that Frisia has Peasant Republic too. Would be very interesting make a Netherlands Peasant Republic.
i was just watching Chewyshoots play through on this lol great video!
Greetings from Italy! Just want to say that "Bella ciao" was the socialist partisans song, the communist partisans used to sing: "Fischia il vento". But today yeah, they are both associated with communist memes.
Woo-hoo fresh content! No more waiting in the handout line!
if anything a “peasants republic” is closer to anarchism of the 19th century. its a great meme though, and i’m not going to be that asshole in the comments who leaves this long-winded comment no one wants to read. love the vid man!
There is signigicant overlap between Anarchism and Communism, see Anarcho-Syndicalism

Hawk what's your accent? I've been watching you for like a year now and can't figure it out lol. Also don't hate me but I always curtail noble privileges every game
He's from Dithmarschen of course.
You have not done any major naval-focused games. Casus bellis are tough, but if you are small enough and/or have enough time, you can let crises/revolts fire and get back stability that way.
That way you can take land by going around the coast.
i got eu4 tahnks to you and I am watching some of your guides to learn the game!
i’ve been waiting for this since Aachen 🤩
Btw Ditmarschen also has their own brewery and produce "Dithmarscher", a beer that is definitely better than the Astra or Holsten in Hamburg
I feel like you might have clicked c through a pop up that told you you could do it, knowing you the way we do
Not wrong lol
i think its a bit unfortunate that flags dont change depending on wether youre a republic or monarchy and if you have specific government forms because that would be amazing, the revolutionary flags that arent some senseless tricolour are really fun tho
A fan-favorite to be sure. Playing an OPM in the HRE can be tricky for newcomers, but Dithmarschen is a very enjoyable campaign!
I'm currently playing them, it's been a lot of fun. I own a good portion of Northern Germany and Scandinavia.
I like to turn them Hussite,l for maximum rejection of nobility and feudalism.
@@azh698 That is often kinda hard. Bohemia never goes Hussite in my games and the religion just dies very quickly :(

Dortmund can become D Dorm Nut. Be a frat boy and earn the trading in Grain (for liquor) or trading in Wine modifier.

ah, another unique country to play on. Thanks for this.
20:40 I'm pretty sure when you get a CB against multiple countries you get a popup. That's what happens with Nationalism or Revolutionaries, at least in my games. But that's easily dismissed as it usually comes with a couple of popups.
A guide about Arabia would be cool
Dithmarchen ditched Germany to march on Italy to make it communist, perfection.
I'm disappointed by the fact he did not actually play bella ciao in the video
Missed opportunity to play bella ciao at the end.
So many dialectics we skipped a mode of production…
i'd have enjoyed waaaay more History class if this had been the unification of Italy lesson.
Ahh yes, the infamous S N A K E
To form Italy, you need to
Be of an Italian culture
Own Rome, Milan, Florence & Milan
Own 20 provinces in the Italy region
And Country: is not the Papal States
Nice tall gameplay.
Amo i video di eu4 dove formano la mia nazione
forming the netherlands as dortmund is quite a good time
Not counting it as a success you must play again as Dithmarschen and seize the means of production.
Don't know if it's formable in EU4, but dortmund lies in the region of Westfalia. Which was for a short time a kingdom after Napoleon beat up the HRE and gave Westfalia to his brother if I recall right.
So as Dortmund to represent Westfalia, you should annex France!
You can form Westphalia in EU4
Not also forcing religion on the peace screens hurts me.
I expected espionage ideas and support rebel stacking let’s see how stoke support rebels can get.
SPOILERS: even with all their bonuses and espionage ideas it’s still not great
I think Dortmund is best known for its fairly succesful football (soccer) club Borussia Dortmund. Borussia is the neo latin Version of prussia. So in short - Form prussia as dortmund.
Also, their primary rival in the national football league is munich, so bonus goal woukd be to rival and humiliate munich.
As an italian leftist i greatly appreciate
For Dortmund: form Prussia. Referring to Borussia Dortmund (Borussia is Latin for Prussia)
I love The Red Hawk, he always stomps, and gives full advice, even though he refuses unfair advantages. On the other hand, Ludi, gives incomplete advice and probably creates scenarios where he is super lucky, that's what I perceive from 1000+ hours on EU4.
I disagree, ludi gives better advice than red hawk. Also, red hawk keeps stealing content from ludi, he literally takes the same thumbnails and titles as some of ludi's older videos. Even this video has the same thumbnails as ludi's old dithmarschen video, even the title is almost identical.
Form Prussia as Dortmund (Borussia Dortmund)
3:10 ah yes, communists allying theocracies.
The borders on the thumbnail are usually a lie, but this has to be the biggest one yet XD
Who go the Burgundian inheritance this game? I don't recognize the color.
I love how you can spread Communism before Karl Marx writes his Manifesto.
Comment 16 of asking Hawk to play as a random nation of each generic idea group under every A-Z video.

Form Spain as Dortmund

Whats bel a chow?
Yeah probably
Why do you keep zooming in and out like that?
"Let's make the Pope communist"
Off to a great start
To be honest a peasants republic isn't really communism as the farmers and populace still have private property. You can even see this in eu4 with Dithmarschen having the burgher estate. I would day that a peasants republic is more akin to an anarcho-capitalist or general market anarchist society.
The irony of dithmarschen is that its literally just a Greek Democracy instead of a "Communist state" lmao
Fun fact, an equivalent amount of people could vote in the PLC as in Athens
@@connortheandroidsentbycybe7740 you mean because of the Sejm with the amount of magistrates and nobles?
If you want to be a true Italian communist, you have to move your capital to Bologna
So no Dai Viet?
For the part about Protestant seeming more Communist than Catholicism, Communist regimes have historically been strictly Atheist and killed, e.g. in the Soviet Union, those who refused to give up their old faith were hunted, and they also installed an Atheist regime in Afghanistan.
The Dithmarschen province seen from everybody else that is not in Italy when Italy was formed: Wait.. was it all Italy ?
Real italian states of Dithmarschen: always has been.
Dithmarschen casually making a wall between western and eastern Germany and then realising in their true heart that they need to create an italian dream, an Italy that is truly free from religion and governance and finally embrace italian identity 👀
