I've had the cheaper Harley Benton JB-20 which is like 100 euro for some years. It has even cheaper no-name ceramic pickups, but they are bright and I like them. It's a bit heavy at 4,5kg but I like it. I haven't replaced anything yet. I want to do a series wiring toggle mod though.
I'll use your links next time I order. But goddamn, that bass tone is atrocious. Why does everyone dial in a clanky Overkill tone for bass? I don't get it. Bass should rattle your nutsack.
I feel if I'm to get another project guitar to build from the ground up, I'm picking up a set of Old Bones, they've caught my attention and I love what I have seen from them so far ❤

My bassist got his first(and still only) bass off Thomann, a Harley Benton PJ. I'm definitely looking into these pickups for an upgrade for him.
