This is a much bigger issue and deserves more discussion. You either give up image quality or sound quality. How is that ok from Microsoft. Its only not a bigger deal because the majority of gamers are not using the combination of an up to date sound system with an up to date tv.
This is definitely an issue. XB1 or XBsX set to Dolby Atmos then HDMI to LG C1 then eARC HDMI to Denon X4400H = audio lag. Thus the need for true HDMI 2.1 receivers.
@@abo1199 Confirm. I have a Denon x3700h and an Lg C1. Even when connecting the xbox directly to the receiver, there is a delay in sound with dolby atmos (but quite insignificant). There is no delay when using DTS X. And by the way, I like the sound of DTS X more. Sorry for the bad English.
@@Rapcher59 Understood completely. I have the same situation where DTSX also has no delay for me. However, personally i find Dolby Atmos to sound better for gaming. The delay with Dolby Atmos is very slight, so I've kinda gotten used to it. It would be nice if Microsoft could fix it though.
This is becoming a ridiculous issue, and is omnipresent. Most TVs/sounbars/AVRs etc. have anywhere between 100-200 ms delay no matter the price, I tried many. Atmos is the wordst offender. They put voice control and all kind of BS features to new 'cutting edge' products and basic things like AV sync are bottom of the list.
So I read the chips they produced first time around were not suitable for the HDMI 2.1 so this with the 'full fat' dolby atmos instead of the compressed version lead to delays. There's no great solution apart from a HD Fury maybe.
Just remember to NOT buy next generation Xbox when it hit the shelves. Otherwise you will be ignored by Microsoft right after they take your money, your issues will be nonexistent to them and never solved.

Yup.
I can confirm with a xbox into LG C1 earc to AVR there is noticable lag... going straight into the AVR no issues on a LX-505.
Happy Monday fellas

I have the Onkyo txrz50 which is a HDMI 2.1 receiver. Even with the Xbox plugged directly into the receiver. I have a slight delay with Dolby Atmos.

I have a Samsung qn85b w a q600b soundbar and the Xbox SX latency is bad. Idk if it’s arc but I do know that my ps5 runs great.
Still an issue..
