Thanks Shane. The capo on 2nd fret really helps with the embellishments. Playing the song in this key without the capo is really a stretch with some of the chords. Great lesson as always. Happy Christmas!!
Shane, took some guitar lessons with you back in 2012 (Still have the USBs). Nice to see you doing well on youtube! Much deserved, as you were (are) a fantastic teacher when I took your lessons! Subscribed...
I think this was one of the first songs you gave me to learn when I started taking lessons with you! Glad to see it in video format and love the moving chords!
Keep it up Shane!! Absolutely love your videos it helps me out so much as I’m continuing to learn how to master the guitar! Not sure if you take requests but if you get a chance would you mind making a video on how to play Cracklin’ Rosie by Neil Diamond? It’s one of my personal favorites and I’d love to see your version of it!
Thank you Bradey - I really appreciate your encouragement and so glad these videos have helped you - great song suggestion thanks! Happy New Year! Shane
Thanks for that Shane. I like your Taylor acoustic, but way beyond my budget so I've just bought a used Epiphone J200 SCE, fantastic guitar! Would recommend it to beginners and more advanced players.
Hey Shane, hope you’re doing well. Haven’t seen you post a video in a while so I hope everything is alright. There’s a song called neon by John Mayer that maybe you could possibly do a lesson on in the future. It’s a sophisticated song but you’re one of my favorite teachers so I’m sure you’ll crush it. Maybe think about going over Neon in the future? Thanks and Have a happy new year!
Terrific lesson Shane! However, way to complex for me to play. Gotta love the genius of John Lennon. Definitely one of the greatest rhythm guitar players of all time.
Thanks Dave - really appreciate that - always great to hear. I am using a BeatBuddy - it's a drum machine in a guitar pedal - simply fabulous - I use it all the time. Cheers! Shane
Ha! That's a great idea John....I know others that do the same. That way when Christmas comes around it's not a big panic to play Caroles etc. Cheers, Shane
Another great video.
Thanks John - always good to hear from you man!
Shane
Lovely rhythm from John. He used that "three strum waltz - type" thing a lot on the early Beatles stuff. He was a very under rated guitarist imo.
Thanks Shane. The capo on 2nd fret really helps with the embellishments. Playing the song in this key without the capo is really a stretch with some of the chords. Great lesson as always. Happy Christmas!!
Thank you Frank - very glad it helped you - Happy New Year!

I love your videos! Can you do an easy tutorial for Band on the Run by Paul McCartney? It’s one of my favorites
Thanks for that Shane. I like your Taylor acoustic, but way beyond my budget so I've just bought a used Epiphone J200 SCE, fantastic guitar! Would recommend it to beginners and more advanced players.

Hi Shane, What drum pattern are you using for the Beatbuddy? Thanks
Hey there - sorry for a slow reply. I’m using the Blues 3 (6/8) pattern at 74BPM. It came pre-loaded on my BeatBuddy. Cheers! Shane
Terrific lesson Shane! However, way to complex for me to play. Gotta love the genius of John Lennon. Definitely one of the greatest rhythm guitar players of all time.
Thanks Steve - I think you'll find it manageable if you dig into it - Cheers!
Shane
Sapele Steve it’s worse in ‘A’ These chords look easier.
Hey Shane, another awesome tutorial...really loving the channel and your website. What are you using for the metronome/ backing beat?
Thanks Dave - really appreciate that - always great to hear. I am using a BeatBuddy - it's a drum machine in a guitar pedal - simply fabulous - I use it all the time. Cheers!
Shane
Thanks for the reply Shane. Seasons greetings all the way from Timmins 🎄
Did John use a capo?
Piano song - Cheers! Happy New Year!

I'm working on Christmas songs a year in advance! 🤣
Ha! That's a great idea John....I know others that do the same. That way when Christmas comes around it's not a big panic to play Caroles etc. Cheers, Shane
It's Christmas not Xmas...Merry Christmas and thanks for your lessons.
Thanks Andy - Cheers!
Shane
It’s the title of the song Andy...just roll with it, Merry Christmas
@@uspsdaveable I know it is...Just a reminder most of us like to keep Christ in Christmas and not use an X...Cheers and Merry Christmas
@@andyr8625 Xmas originated from the Greek symbol for Christ. It's deeply rooted in Christian history and heritage. Happy Xmas!
@@karlguilbeau8538 We keep Christ in Christmas, period.
You are wrong! This song belongs to John Lennon and Yoko Ono! Remember the thought of love and peace that Yoko Ono gave John!
