In regards to the lore, Project Tamriel is planning on making all of Tamriel with the Morrowind lore. So details in game and out of game sources and conceptual ideas that never made it into the final game around that time are the reference material. Right now all of the Telvanni territory is a WIP and will be completely redone in the end. The western areas are the completed areas. I'd say Near Old Ebonheart and west. So to fill out the world here the developers have made their own books for the world with the goal in mind to not break any of the Morrowind canon and pre-established lore. Right now there are 3 teams working on Tamriel. Tamriel Rebuilt is making Morrowind and plan to move down to Black Marsh when they are finished there. Skyrim Home of the Nords is making Skyrim, right now they have done a large portion of the Reach. (Again this is with the old lore, nothing that was retconned in Oblivion and Skyrim) And Province Cyrodiil is making ofc Cyrodiil and right now their only release is the Island of Stirk, but they plan on reworking that before their next big release of the entire County Anvil. The reason for reworks like the Telvanni lands and Stirk has always come from a place of "The lore says this, and we in fact did not do that. We better fix it. Or at least make it better." I have all of this on my multiplayer server, love it! Hope this helps. ❤
Also to add onto this because I know leon will read this. A lot of the books Tamriel Rebuilt added are just from Daggerfall. Elder Scrolls 1 and 2 was heavily based on Dungeons and Dragons. Specifcially it was based heavily on The Forgotten Realm... We know that because a lot of the names of locations in Daggerfall books are ripped straight from The Forgotten Realms... Also "Dwarves" In Morrowind and later games mean Dwemer, but in Daggerfall and earlier games, "Dwarf" probably just meant literal DND style Dwarves... They hadn't fleshed out their own originality to the world yet. So a lot of books that were written in Daggerfall were removed from Morrowind for feeling too DND-like. (Also some were also perhaps low quality fanfics and in-jokes.) But Tamriel Rebuilt adds a lot of the Daggerfall books back in, which sort of fits and sort of doesn't. Most people don't read the books anyways so they will never know.
Oooooohhhhh okay wow okay this is incredible. so maybe maybe someday i'll be able to travel to elsweyr in morrowind times? that's so cool even if not.... omg okay i'm gonna pin this comment since you're my TR loremaster right now. thank you so much!

@@leonblep Hi! I have been watching your videos for a few months now and I really like them, so as soon as I saw that you were playing TR I got really exited, so there's a few things I would like to mention. The modding community in Morrowind is a pretty dedicated one as well as the Skyrim modding community. Tamriel Rebuilt is an insane project that has been existing even before Morrowind was released in 2002 when bethesda announced that they couldn't add the whole Morrwind province. Project Tamriel is their sister project which aims to implement the other provinces of Tamriel in Morrowind's time-line, right now they have released a small playable portion of Skyrim (Check "Skyrim Home of the Nords"), which has a really cool lore and quests, and they have also released the small isle of Stirk (Check "Province Cyrodill"), which has really really cool assets and small quests. Right now there are other projects that are being planned, like Elsweyr Paradise Sugar or Project Valenwood (idk if that's the official name), you can check the discord servers for Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel if you want to keep track of the progress, but as you may know, these kind of projects require a lot of work and different skills, so even tho I'm not a modder myself I highly appreciate the work all these teams do to bring to us these insane projects for free. If you want, make sure to support the TR/PT team or the modding community in general because there are lots of great mods out there for Morrowind for us to enjoy, and I hope you keep enjoying this amazing piece of work!
as an old man who has played morrowind since it first came out, tamriel rebuilt has been so much fun and im so grateful for all the hard work that the modders have been putting into it. this project was started back in 2001, when people learned that the rest of the province had to be cut from the game, so tamriel rebuilt is actually as old as morrowind itself!
i am so in awe of the sheer talent, dedication, and persistence that has gone into tamriel rebuilt. i'm now a lifelong convert! i can't wait to explore all it has to offer!! sadly i got my mw bearings on the xbox, so even though i am also old, i hadn't gotten the introduction to the pc experience until a year and a half or so ago! but i'll never go back now hehe~
Really makes me happy to hear you two fellow old hats having a good time with this mod. I've been running Morrowind Rebirth + Tamriel Rebuilt together with no noticeable issues and it's been lovely. TR is absolutely an ambitious project, but like the youtuber's reaction in this video, it's felt a lot like playing Morrowind for the first time again.
Ooooooh yeah this mod rocks. When I first checked it out I just spent like all day hanging around in Old Ebonheart doing little in-city quests and chatting with people. It's a huge city that feels as large as I would expect next to Vivec. So excited to see where this mod goes.
i'm also incredibly excited to follow it, now that i'm aware! old ebonheart seems to be a fan favorite, so i'll likely start my travels there when i return. thank you so much :D
Thieves guild are a joke, EEC has like 3 quests in the heart of imperial presence in morrowind and half of them involve sewers IIRC. What’s the good OE questline?
Tamriel Rebuilt rules. There's some very beautiful, breathtaking sights placed through out Mainland Morrowind. There's a nice increase in quest lines, although theres a fairly small amount of quest given for the massive amount of terrain acquired. This will probably be resolved in the coming future. Great video, its always nice to see people still enjoying Morrowind and the modding community.
Darvonis and the surrounding region are redesigned into a sulfuric swamps, something like a mix of Molag Amur, Ashlands and Bitter Coast, with mostly gray and yellow colors, but also plant life like Mournhold trees. The town itself looks like a proper port in the current developer build, from what I've seen! Redoran lands are meant to be to the far west from Vvardenfell and they were only preview content meant for sight-seeing, no quests and not many finished interiors from what I gather. The preview files are no longer available because they were outdated and gave players a wrong impression of what's to come from Velothi Mountains. Aside from that, the only regions of Morrowind that remain untouched is the territories of House Dres in Deshaan plains, as well as jungles on Black Marsh' border
oooooohh okay that's really helpful. thank you loremaster!!! i am really excited about this project now, i can't believe i hadn't interacted with it until recently.
Always a pleasure to see new person discover TR. I think they'v added a lot of stuff since the last time i checked, altho i was mainly keeping to Boethias Spine and Old Ebonheart. If you'd like to check if there is a third option in one short yet cool quest, you may want to save Tarhiel from coliding with the ground :)
@@leonblep Same honestly, like ive played a ton of mod content thats like 'new lands' or gameworld extensions, and there's usually like, a *vibe*, yknow? But the TR stuff just feels like it was always there, it's wild
I can really recommend starting a new playthrough with Tamriel Rebuilt, heading to the mainland immediately at level 1. Old Ebonheart is a great starting point for low-level characters. Atm you can't join House Indoril, but you can do some bounty hunter and misc quests for them. Rn, House Hlaalu has the most quests and is part of the newest and most polished content of TR. Essentially everything west of and including Old Ebonheart is up to TR newest standards, they eventually plan to update the older parts east too and in part they did that with the Imperial towns of Firewatch and Helnim on the western coast of the Telvanni lands. So questwise I can really recommend all the Imperial guilds, House Hlaalu and the Temple, main stand-out being the temple questline in Almas Thirr and the Thieves Guild in Old Ebonheart. House Hlaalu in Andothren in pretty fun too. Some of the most fun quests I had in a game for years and that is no overstatement, the quality of the writing, gameplay and worldbuilding in TR's western content really really surprised me.
oh shoot i have a pretty decent save running as house hlaalu, maybe i should make my way over and check it out with that character? also thank you so much for the recommendations and advice! i can't wait to really immerse myself in TR's world. i'm also genuinely blown away by the quality and loyalty of the writing. i'll check out the western areas first!!
@@leonblep You're welcome! Just be aware that if you play with an already very high ranking Hlaalu character, certain low level quests won't be avaible to you anymore. This is because TR follows the vanilla standard, for example I was the grandmaster of the mages guild once, headed over to the mainland and assumed there were no quests for the mg, because they all just greeted me with my title. I became too an important person to handle their duties, haha. Also I just realized I misspoke: House Telvanni in the eastern most and oldest part of the map have actually the most house quests atm, and while the quality is still good and comparable to vanilla, they get blown out of the water by the newest content and are even planned for a big redo by the team in the future. Sorry for the long text again :P
It locks only for grandmasters I think. As house brother I was still sent to dock werehouse to sort kwama eggs. :P Suggested to TR team that first questline should be skipped above retainer ranks, so hope it might be more dynamic in future releases.
@@antonisauren8998 hah, lol, yeah I was the master of the faction. Ideally, I'd want to still have the option to do low-level quests, like they ask you if you want to skip to the higher tasks first.
tamriel rebuilt is beyond amazing. its easily the best mod for morrowind ever. all the extra content, quests and faction expansions are super well done. Its like playing morrowind again for the 1st time its soooo guud. easy 100 out of 10
this video is super endearing like i love how excited you get about this stuff. which is valid because tamriel rebuilt is awesome. i recently played through the almas thirr temple questline and it was seriously so good, on par with some of the best writing in original morrowind if not better. it involves a bunch of conflict between house hlaalu and house indoril and it's probably some of the best use of the setting i've ever seen in fanwork. you can't join house indoril though unfortunately
Dont know if this was answered before, but the books are mostly from Daggerfall if I read correctly. Though there are books from basically everything from Battlespire to Redguard to Arena as well.
Looks like they put way more effort into designing this than the original developers did in building Morrowind. I installed this mod but I have those GIANT yellow exclamation marks everywhere making the game impossible to play so I am missing data somehow.
Have you registered data archives properly? It differs on vanilla engine and openMW. There is a bunch of depracticed assets in the world slipping into every release, but rather not in obvious places, as such should be catched during internal tests.
@@antonisauren8998 I tried dumping as many texture and mesh files in as I could find to see if I could get the ones I was getting errors for, but my installation is a shit show of disorganization. I was going to wait until I built my new computer to sort out the mod. I may need more hard drives since I have filled both of mine with pirated shit I hate to delete. You can't find the pirated classics anymore.
i can relate to the pirate life... i totally understand. i hope the new build leaves you with a clean and fresh TR install that you can enjoy to the fullest!
I don't think the other two houses are joinable yet but starting a new game is a good idea because some of these ares are catered to certain levels, I forgot the name of the town but there is a town similar to Balmora where that's your starter leveling area, so it's worth making a new character to experience leveling in those areas.
a great suggestion! i'm still working on figuring out how i could stream in my current situation, but i do know of a couple small creators in my community who are involved in tamriel rebuilt~ i will make a self-promo thread in my community tab this week to try and wrangle everyone together! i would love to stream someday though!
And Yet another finds the glory that is Tamriel Rebuilt. I'll just say that I think it's even better with OpenMW. The only downside to OpenMW is no MWSE. But the only MWSE mod I'd want is AshFall.
i followed the instructions super carefully (wrote out my own checklist) and am using openMW as well, so idk i either got beginners' luck or the triple-checking helped. i hope you can get them to work! i wish i knew channels to suggest for help ;;
You should try the other two Morrowind mods that use the texture mod that use the tamriel rebuilt data: Skyrim: Home of the Nords (allegedly more lore friendly version of Skyrim than TES5), and Province: Cyrodil (Morrowind era imperial province)
okay that sounds great-- i've never played skyrim, and i think i much prefer a fanmade version of the world than a 2011 bethesda version tbh! thanks for the tips, i'll write them down~
@@leonblep Province: Cyrodiil is actually almost done with a huge update to take it out of early preview status, so it's worth putting off for a few months until Abecean Shores is out, but I'd love to see what you think of it! you bring a great energy!
this is a really cool extended mod feature. a lot of morrowind mod videos are from people who are really awks on the mic. it's nice to see a mod showcase from someone who clearly knows morrowind inside out but is otherwise just a down to earth person instead of hearing LordOfTheWarlocks69 talk about how they're going to crush their foes and go on a 40 minute incoherent rant about almalexian economics
Wait, so it’s cool to see a showcase from someone who knows Morrowind inside out, but at the same time talking about amlalexian economics is a step too far, and you need to be down to earth?
thank you! it's a little scary getting so many new subscribers at once, but it does show the wisdom of my prior subscribers. it's all thanks to them really that i've gotten such a bump in exposure this week! i'll be taking a long break as soon as my newest video uploads. thank you so much for the concern ✨
The extent this mod feels like a missing piece of the real game is amazing. I think if you showed an hour of actual morrowind gameplay and TR gameplay to a third party, they would have no way of telling which was official and which was the mod. The team behind it really cares about the game and respecting the original while also building upon it. A playthrough would be amazing, I've been playing for weeks and have still only done about 1/10th of the new map.
There're underwater grates blocking traffic on Thirr if Temple wishes so?! I never noticed it with fancy water shaders and stuff. It's ALWAYS raining in Akamora. I blamed my weather mods, but it's such for you too with almost vanilla setup. Mephalan Vales are beautyfull, but constant bad weather ruins experiance for me.
WEATHER MODS? omg i'm so new honestly. does it make the weather more true to the lore? i was also shocked by the grates, maybe you could see that i kinda linger when i first notice, but yeah, openMW really cleans everything up so nicely. i'm super new to mods lol. maybe i'll sleep/wait for sunny days to explore easily. i also prefer clear or overcast weather for exploration.
I've like at least thee on top so they might conflict a bit, and probably aren't compatibile with openMW anyway. I'm in MWSE camp. For more dynamic skyboxes, for darker nights, and for weather more dependant on season (at least from mod description). But in Akamora it's like 10% for clear sky and I'm affraind to enter interior cell there, as it's almost certain it's gonna rain after exiting to exterior again. With ashfall that adds wetness mechanics, it's even more unplesant.
The only bad thing is that because they've been able to put years and years of work into this it really outshines the locations in the original game which were made on a budget and schedule
@@leonblep I should say that I was really impressed by the quests in the tamriel rebuilt. Old ebonheart is an impressive city and I really recommend you to check both rogue and mage guild quests there. Both are much better than vanilla quests and will surprise you
@@MFewwy you must be trolling, Those two are easily the worst quest lines I experienced so far. Mages guild starts like Balmora, but instead of doing actual research that helps new player to get a foot in alchemy by reading Ajira’s report about beneficial effects and mixes of local mushrooms and flowers you are ordered to buy a bunch of booze so your project leader can get drunk. After that you like 3-4 quests centered around a single mages guild novice that you recruit, that runs around and causes chaos with zero repercussions. It’s like the whole guild is populated with Treboniuses, that just clown around all day. I didn’t get in the thieves guild far, because first quest was so through the flooor bad, that I had no desire to continue. Make a character, go straight to mainland (as developers even advices you to do) and do the very first quest in the line and tell me it doesn’t feel RIDICULOUSLY out of character, place, and completely antithetical to what we saw in MW thieves guild. Did any of the MW leaders made you do pointless loyalty tests on your first day? Loyalty to faction that you joined a couple minutes ago, mind you, that you have zero ties or connections to.
i use the steam version of morrowind and openMW 0.47.0! surprisingly, install was incredibly simple and clean. i followed the instructions diligently, and had a little practice with the patch for purists and cinia mods. openMW makes modding a little simpler, i think? i could be wrong.
I think House Redoran controls west parts of mainland Morrowind , maybe that's why you didn't found it ... because those parts still look like under construction
There are, monster density overall is much lower than on Vvanderfell. And there is no Blight, so returning to island arround lvl 20 provides surprising dificulty spike.
@@antonisauren8998 I was going to just do a complete reinstall using Gregoriangansta's private server bundle. Would have done it already but I am tight on drive space.
ima be real, ive absolutely fallen off into TR, with the current build of the mod it bolsters any playstyle and playthrough to a level of absurdity, even the weirdest niche run of the game could have 50 fantastically written and designed hours tacked onto it by TR (except for Redoran weebs, L for the West coast based nerds) na but if you wanna see the true scale of this project in both future development and current release id highly recommend trawling there Discord, a good time usually also you should get some rest, you seem hella worn out
i feel that on redoran- normally i'm telvanni but i chose redoran for my LP because so many people suggested doing a run when i rated house redoran poorly lol. i hear hlaalu is built out well? i might join the discord though, that's a great suggestion! thank you so much~
@@leonblep the telvanni content is there original content from the early 2000s, the Devs say it'll get a rebuild someday to conform to new standards (the old stuff is still very good), hlaalu is only just now getting content release as the map moves into there turf and it's very good, redoran will probably be a ways off, the work for indoril isn't through a formal faction and mostly falls under the temple questline and Dres is apparently a whole can of worms that the team isn't touching yet I used to bother the Devs constantly on there server so I know alot of dumb things about TR, be better than me, don't annoy the mod Devs

@@leonblep no hate lol I'm just being silly honestly. I also love telvanni because when I finally got into like 5th character I finally found my great house which is telvanni because of the same reason the mad wizards just speaks to me because my last character I played became a crazy wizard that had immense power that had a nuke spell that would also kill him also if he wasnt flying up in the air and was like 200ft away from the impact of the spell and he also killed the arch magister and toke his house in sadilth mora (cant remember how to actually spell the name of the town)

Its like playing morrowind again for the 1st time its soooo guud. easy 100 out of 10
it is EXACTLY like playing morrowind again for the first time!! i love it so much, so glad i tried it!
this video is super endearing like i love how excited you get about this stuff. which is valid because tamriel rebuilt is awesome. i recently played through the almas thirr temple questline and it was seriously so good, on par with some of the best writing in original morrowind if not better. it involves a bunch of conflict between house hlaalu and house indoril and it's probably some of the best use of the setting i've ever seen in fanwork. you can't join house indoril though unfortunately
loved this vid! would be great to see more exploring around Tamriel Rebuilt!
Dont know if this was answered before, but the books are mostly from Daggerfall if I read correctly. Though there are books from basically everything from Battlespire to Redguard to Arena as well.
You should return to TR now that more content has been released! I like your enthusiasm, it's very contagious. ^^
This mod is impressive, offering a lot while still maintaining a vanilla vibe.
@@leonblep I even have the Star Wars Holiday Special. Lucas has put pirates in prison trying to erase that mess from video history.
Holiday Special will always be on torrents. :D I've it burned on disk somewhere from times before wide brandwith connections.
I don't think the other two houses are joinable yet but starting a new game is a good idea because some of these ares are catered to certain levels, I forgot the name of the town but there is a town similar to Balmora where that's your starter leveling area, so it's worth making a new character to experience leveling in those areas.
lol tbh i agree ngl
18:04 - oh yeah, Indoril architecture is beautiful. The people are monsters, but their architectural anesthetic can't be beat.
100% agree with both points
maybe you could this a series or a live stream?! TR is such a great mod and everyone loves it but no one makes letsplays/streams of it!
a great suggestion! i'm still working on figuring out how i could stream in my current situation, but i do know of a couple small creators in my community who are involved in tamriel rebuilt~ i will make a self-promo thread in my community tab this week to try and wrangle everyone together! i would love to stream someday though!
And Yet another finds the glory that is Tamriel Rebuilt.
I'll just say that I think it's even better with OpenMW.
The only downside to OpenMW is no MWSE.
But the only MWSE mod I'd want is AshFall.
OpenMW's own Lua implementation is coming along, at least.
@@sslaxx That's Good.
What version are they up to?
I'm still using 0.48.0. .
0.48 is still the most recent, but I build from source.
@@sslaxx Cool,Personally excited to see what 0.50.0 Is actually going to be like feature wise.
These big mods look so cool, but I suck at modding and can never get them working properly :/
i followed the instructions super carefully (wrote out my own checklist) and am using openMW as well, so idk i either got beginners' luck or the triple-checking helped. i hope you can get them to work! i wish i knew channels to suggest for help ;;
Tamriel Rebuilt and Project Tamriel are the actual TES.
You say that because she's a woman, really pathetic man
Wait, so it’s cool to see a showcase from someone who knows Morrowind inside out, but at the same time talking about amlalexian economics is a step too far, and you need to be down to earth?
Crazy impressive mod I definitely want to try it out now
it's so cool!!!!
Congrats on all the new subs! Subscriber accumulation week GO!
Btw don't forget to take breaks.
thank you! it's a little scary getting so many new subscribers at once, but it does show the wisdom of my prior subscribers. it's all thanks to them really that i've gotten such a bump in exposure this week!
i'll be taking a long break as soon as my newest video uploads. thank you so much for the concern ✨
No it doesn’t. Name me a location in vanilla that TR “outshined” Vivek I guess, but outshining Vivek isn’t an achievement.
tamriel rebuilt let's play when?
as soon as i finish tribunal and bloodmoon!!! 100%
Did you play it more deeply after you recorded the video? What do you think?
I wish Bethesda's TES games were as lore accurate as Tamriel Rebuilt.
Tamriel rebuilt is soooo goood! The team is amazing T__T
it totally blew my mind!! i can't wait to finish up with the official morrowind content so that i can delve deeper into TR!!
TES moding comunity is just wonderful...Did you have any problems with instal and what version of MW you have?
i use the steam version of morrowind and openMW 0.47.0!
surprisingly, install was incredibly simple and clean. i followed the instructions diligently, and had a little practice with the patch for purists and cinia mods.
openMW makes modding a little simpler, i think? i could be wrong.
Sadly, only the three Vvardenfell houses are joinable.
And the Redoran lands haven't been added yet.
oh thank you for this. i was getting a little nervous! :D
I need to look into how to install this mod, I downloaded it but I didn't know how to install it properly I'm gonna need a guide lol.
Lol I like how Great House Indoril architecture is "Mournhold Flavored" Lmao 👍
lolol i have issues but u know i'm just letting the words fly out
i just saw those doors and the hallways and i was like o.o tribunal o.o
I think House Redoran controls west parts of mainland Morrowind , maybe that's why you didn't found it ... because those parts still look like under construction
oh thank you so much! tbh regardless of how long i've spent with this game, sometimes the lore escapes me hehe
LETS GOOOOOO
Does this mod have any quests, guilds and storylines that start and end?
as far as i was able to tell, i think so! i plan on exploring TR more deeply at a later point, but i only played it this one time so far!
It has around 400+ quests, you could easily spend hundreds of hours on it.
11:33 I really thought this was a sound effect instead of your voice
lolol i pulled the volume down SO much for this, i have been so nervous in games lately
do npcs have tasks and sleep like in oblivion?
Hahahaha.
This is still Morrowind. Sleep is for n'wahs.
there might be mods that do that! but so far as i can tell in the base pack, no~
bad for thieves but good for shops
I've only been able to find a mod that locks doors at night.
If it weren't for the modding community, current Bethesda games would be mediocre at best
100% agree, now that i've started experiencing the bliss that is modding. i can't believe i've gone so many years without this
Nah, vanilla MW is still better.
No cliff racers?
There are, monster density overall is much lower than on Vvanderfell. And there is no Blight, so returning to island arround lvl 20 provides surprising dificulty spike.
@@antonisauren8998 I was going to just do a complete reinstall using Gregoriangansta's private server bundle. Would have done it already but I am tight on drive space.
there were very few in the distance-- i guess to be fair... less cliffs? lol
ima be real, ive absolutely fallen off into TR, with the current build of the mod it bolsters any playstyle and playthrough to a level of absurdity, even the weirdest niche run of the game could have 50 fantastically written and designed hours tacked onto it by TR (except for Redoran weebs, L for the West coast based nerds)
na but if you wanna see the true scale of this project in both future development and current release id highly recommend trawling there Discord, a good time usually
also you should get some rest, you seem hella worn out
i feel that on redoran- normally i'm telvanni but i chose redoran for my LP because so many people suggested doing a run when i rated house redoran poorly lol. i hear hlaalu is built out well?
i might join the discord though, that's a great suggestion! thank you so much~
@@leonblep the telvanni content is there original content from the early 2000s, the Devs say it'll get a rebuild someday to conform to new standards (the old stuff is still very good), hlaalu is only just now getting content release as the map moves into there turf and it's very good, redoran will probably be a ways off, the work for indoril isn't through a formal faction and mostly falls under the temple questline and Dres is apparently a whole can of worms that the team isn't touching yet
I used to bother the Devs constantly on there server so I know alot of dumb things about TR, be better than me, don't annoy the mod Devs
