Thanks for playing Tamriel Rebuilt! It's always a pleasure to see and hear first impressions of a dedicated Morrowind fan from seeing the mainland. It's also kinda crasy seeing how you explored all of this locations that already got improvements for the next release (hopefully coming in the nearest months). If you do not afraid of spoilers, here's some explanations to your encounters:
    - The ship captain lady missing from the docks of Ebonheart was indeed some sort of mistake. She should be there (a mod conflict?). Alternatively, there's a new shipmaster near the Vivec fast travel boat that could serve the same purpose.
    - The two Imperial cutters you see at the docks of Fort Ancylis are the Navy cutter and the Coast Guard cutter. The latter patrols the seas on the question of smugglers, while the former is a vestige of the mighty IEastern mperial fleet. Specifically, the remains of what used to be stationed at the ruined Fort Firemoth. The Navy uniform has a completely new model now as well, without the studs spam. Hopefully, you'll gonna love it!
    - St. Aralor was a bandit leader who got trapped in a cave-in and prayed to Almalexia to be saved. Upon his repentance, he was miraculously saved and devoted himself to the gods. The monastery you visited is dedicated to the saint, and was built on the presumed place of his conversion. The monastery functions as a rehabilitation colony for criminals and has some interesting dialogue.
    - The Bosmer guy you try to save in the Menaan prison has to do with the manor of a paranoic Hlaalu noble you checked before. The one that's so afraid of assassins. You can indeed save Engor, but it is never explicitly stated what's the real story was about.
    - Re: Great Houses on the mainland. I'm afraid, there's not a lot of choice at the moment. It's only House Telvanni and Hlaalu that give quests on the mainland. And the former is quite old content. So I'd say that trying House Hlaalu is the safest bet for now. The Andothren questline is pretty cool. And there will be more in future updates. While Redoran, Indoril and Dres will have to wait for new land expansions.
    - I am glad you've found one of the few side-quests present in the current version of Andothren. Though, you may notice that the sword is much cheaper than the real ebony sword. The outcome of this quest is a tough fight so be prepaired!
    - Re: side-quests void in Andothren. It will be fixed in the next release -- you will have much more jobs offered to you on the streets and by various citizens of this port-city. In fact, the notice board you check at 48:56 is properly filled with bounties now, which you can go and collect. Still, even the current version of TR has dozens of wilderness side-quests and Andothren offers plenty of faction work to the player.
In general: the next release, Andaram, will get you a new swath of land south of Almas Thirr, while also completely overhauling the city itself -- adding tons of quest and faction content everywhere. I should warn though, that it might cause issues on an old savefile because it replaces the existing content. But it's definitely worth it!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate the explanations since not everything has been covered in full yet. I'll definitely be doing some proper deep dives once I'm a bit more versed in the mainland. You guys have done some amazing work so far and I can't wait to see what's coming next as well as the new overhauls! It really feels like it's been there the whole time and I just never noticed; truly amazing work!

The care, love, and passion by Tamriel Rebuilt is unmatched. The amount of work and dedication always leaves me speechless. I am playing it in 2024. Compared to games like Starfield, it really shows you how good Bethesda games used to be.

Well said! I am constantly impressed with the attention to detail and the meticulous standard they set. It's better than 95% of modern AAA studios while also providing an absolutely staggering amount of content.

Such high drawing distance kinda ruins the mood of mysteriousness and maps look not that big. Cool video tho!

I have it set to 4 cells at the moment, mostly because I do a lot of b-roll filming, but it is really cool to drop it to 2 and not be able to see Vvardenfell from the mainland. It makes the Inner Sea look even bigger!

the intro couldn't be more perfect 😂
also, damn I'm stuck with Morrowind for the past 3 years especially now that I have Tamriel Rebuilt installed. There are only a few things I kinda wished they never touched in their recent updates. One of them is Helnim. They made it smaller in the Aanthirin update than it was on the Telvannis update.

    • @Denis-lp3pz
      @Denis-lp3pz Год назад +5

I can understand how the downscaling of Helnim may feel disappointing at first. But the team had no choice -- it was really unreasonable for the most xenophobic region of Morrowind (the Telvannis) to have two giant imperial colonies.
In fact, even though Helnim got smaller, many of its buildings got moved to the city of Firewatch and Nivalis, an entirely new imperial outpost at the north. And all of these locations (Helnim included) got their quests improved and multiplied. All Helnim buildings had their interiors overhauled with great attention and love -- the Imperial chapel of Kynareth alone took an entire month to develop. So, hopefully, the downscale was outbalanced by that.

I've seen a few boat captain NPCs end up glitched beneath docks in a few locations and have had to TCL and go down through them to find the NPCs treading water.

And I'll be there to watch it. Love the intro btw. Put me back to my first time with Oblivion, it was my first and favourite RPG but I never finished the main quest unlike Morrowind which I played afterwards. Damn it was something special that first playthrough I did of the game. Now I just have to mod the hell out of it for a serious dive into TR.

you can tell that despite decades of development, restarts and constant differences in creative vision, that the devs have a lot of fun adding little detail like booby traps in the house or that bard there to make the world more lived in

I definetly plan to replay morrowind, explore both the island and the mainland hehe. Do all 3 main quests for morrowind. There is just so much of morrowind I never really explored, like the far north.

not many lol it works well when I'm not also recording and streaming, poor pc does what it can to power through it, IIRC it didnt drop below 30 outside of initial loading, but that was just Andothren, Ebonheart or the old preview version of Almalexia would probably drag it to a crawl

TR looks great, I just wish they would actually finish it. TR has been in development since November 2001 and is maybe 1/4 of the way done after almost 22 years now. Massive full game overhauls like Nehrim and Enderal took less time to make. I personally just don't see the point in playing a disjointed and unfinished map tacked onto the original game.
