I had a lot of fun writing for Arlo on the Firewatch Imperial Legion quest content, but the meat of his lunacy wasn't written by me. His quest to fetch Incarnadine was made by somebody else, and it's a lot more extravagant and poetic -- which I think is to its benefit.
He's a great character, I'm sure it was fun writing his dialogues. Arlo died surprisingly fast in a daedric ruin, I have to save him next time so he stays in the game.
Thanks, @thethe2852! I had way too much fun writing his dialogue for the incarnadine quest (scripting the quest itself was less fun). And I'm loving Andaram so far
Another interpretation of Casik is that the man you see *is* the Daedric doppelganger, and through rotting in his cell he's forgotten that fact and genuinely thinks he's the Imperial general. Or he hasn't forgotten and is duping you. Combined with what you speculated, there are at least half a dozen different ways these events could've played out, which is neat. Also this lore comes from Arena's main quest in which Jagar Tharn took the place of the emperor and set Cyrodiil's legions towards ruin. This lore features prominently in the redone Firewatch, and in the ingame book TR added called "Ash and Blood". I have an odd relationship with that horse quest, as at the beginning of summer I put in some dev time to further optimize Old Ebonheart. In doing so I took one look at those guar stables, being cobbled together out of dozens of different objects, and reduced it to a guarskin overhang and hay pile. I had to go through the quest to be sure my change worked well with it and that's how I first played through it.
@@boreanknight funnily enough, I never beat the quest because of the poorly conceived speechcraft check (which I believe no longer exists), so I made my comment, and immediately glanced down to a different comment which implies the execution aftermath canonizes what I was saying lol. That interpretation merely osmosed its way into my mind due to being on the TR discord server. Anyways, thanks for the video! I don't think I've seen any literary interpretations of TR like this, so I eagerly await more.
@@minerman60101 I gonna have to redo the quest on next playthrough. I'm just waiting for the Aanthirin expansion update, it's my fav region. So, could it be that real Casik ran away with the mistress 30 years ago? And it's still left open as to who really plotted the mission to Argonia? It's such a interesing plot, with so many questions. I just love the overall worldbuilding in TR, to me it's now a part of official game. Next video will be about a certain quest and item, can't wait to make it. Thanks so much!
Thank you kindly for your videos on Tamriel Rebuilt. Your editing is superb, and your narration style is very cool. I am also personally thankful to you for having a clean speech (without profanities). As for me, my favourite bandit encounter in Roth Roryn is the Vanishing Highwamen. The encounters with them made Roth Roryn very mysterious for me. First, you see a person standing on a rock in the distance, watching you. And when you try to approach, the person teleports away. It happens several times until you get surrounded by them and pressed for money. Since it's hard to simply kill them, you have to actually track their lair down. And in there, there is additional dialogue for you. Re: Arlo Ajaxis - his personal quest was implemented by WellTemperedClavier, who is also the writer of the brilliant Pearl Betwix Empires book series. His writing skills were a great contribution to this character. Speaking of the Old Ebonheart turney, you're probably aware that the project still aims to bring it to public. Marhaus, our quest developer, and a treasure trove of everything lore-related, has made great progress with the questline. Among other things, it'll feature a cut vanilla character -- a Mages Guild member who was supposed to mirror the player's adventures in the guild, and sometimes pose as their rival. Shivatheo, our asset developer, has already made a set of turney tents, and an indoor arena for the questline. Hormidak Farali will also be present on the turney, of course. Though, Idk if that'll be the case after he gives you his equipment. Keep this great content coming! and, hopefully very soon, you'll have over a hundred more fresh quests to explore in TR.
Thanks so much for a great comment! I actually didn't know about the tourney, that would be so awesome. And I've seen the disappearing person standing on rocks, it freaked me out but they never returned. I totally forgot about that encounter because it happened so fast. Lots of people ask for more TR content and I found another awesome quest that I wanna cover. That video will probably be next. I'm also waiting for an update to start a new playthrough.
Thanks for this information, I'm definitely going to be tracking these characters down! It's not easy to get good, concise info on TR due to the massive size and amazingly deep world building. Hopefully this makes my random wanderings on the Mainland easier to watch. I know it's gotta be painful to watch sometimes for people who actually know what they're doing! 😅
Tamriel Rebuilt is really uncharted territory, there isn't much info online including UESP or TR's website. Best way is to get into it and just explore! There are many weird moments, encounters and characters, like when I faced a troll in a daedric ruin. It's huge so best to stick to guilds. Some of my favorite overall quests are in Tamriel Rebuilt.
Check out my Morrowind lists playlist --- ruclips.net/p/PLEW6B0gutYydiPKVGLjFsodJLYbb4cUWU Today I dig into Tamriel Rebuilt. After hundreds of hours of exploration here are some of my favorite random NPCs and their stories. Thank you watching and subscribe for more videos like this!
A particular favorite NPC of mine is the steward of the figher's guild in Akamora. The implications and cultural differences between Imperial culture, Imperialised Dunmer and the traditional house Indoril is all great throughout the questline, but she really makes it for me. She's flawed but professional, and depending on perspective is either really right or really wrong which in truth makes her a perfect middle of the road between traditional Dunmer and Imperial society.
In my playthrough I got frustrated as i didn't have the speech to progress so I just executed him, myself. Imagine my shock when he turned into what he did.
Maybe they have a Reputation, which, combined with mishaps like the one of this Breton Knight, leads to very few people being willing to bring horses to Morrowind or sell horses into Morrowind or to Dunmer, and that, in combination with horses having a hard time surviving in the harsh climate of Morrowind, leads to them being very rare.
Not from Tamriel Rebuilt, but there's a Breton in the Karthwasten Fighter's Guild in Skyrim: Home of the Nords who mentions how his own personal timeline was corrupted during the Warp in the West, and how he's not entirely sure how he ended up where he did. Also in SHotN, there's a lawyer in the Karthwasten palace called Franco Azarius, who is called "the Strong Arm" back home in Cyrodiil. This blew me away, because there's a small-time local lawyer in the city I grew up named Frank Azar and all his commercials on TV call him "the Strong Arm". Once I saw that I knew whatever developer put him in must have lived in the same area as me. Small world.
That's a good story, being transferred into another world so suddenly! I've been playing around SHoTN and really loved it. Just couple of days ago I tried finding out when is the update coming, can't wait to play it. Actually had an idea to do a lore video on hagravens and other stuff from SHoTN.
