He was working/student teaching and getting his masters in Special Education the first year that I met him. Being a Special Ed teacher consumes your life. At the end of the school year, I ended up making him a sign for making it through his first year as a teacher and graduation. His favorite super hero is Superman. I painted a Superman Symbol at the top of the piece of wood. Then, I found an acronym for every letter in his first and last name, that describes his character. He is one of the best Special Education teachers that I’ve ever met. I have been in the same occupation for almost 20 years. Authentic and kind words do go a long way. You would be surprised at the kind of connection that you can build with others, just by acknowledging their little efforts of contribution or even their greatness.
I also seen he was having car problems and so I said he could use my car for important trips. He loved that and showed me that radiantly beautiful smile and he said why are u so good to me?

I am learning how important compliments are and how to express my appreciation for mine. I have focused for years on not nagging and insulting others but haven’t figured out how to comfortably say compliments. My partner now is so good at complimenting me in a sincere way and using terms of endearment. So far I have complimented him for how he allows me to feel and express my feminine side, how he makes me feel young and beautiful, how and why I appreciate different parts of his body, for helping me relax and de stress, and for opening up and creating a level of trust so we can express ourselves.

I was seeing this guy and we were laying on the couch and he poked my nose and in as joking manner said “does this turn you on?” And I respond with “well it doesn’t turn me off.” He life up and it became our little inside joke that we used in different intimate or playful situations.

Rather than the greatest compliment I've ever given, I want to share with you some of the greatest compliments I've ever heard, one from one my best friends being "You're so inspiring!" I didn't know how badly I needed to hear that until she said it. I had felt so... empty and just replaceable for awhile and it was starting to overtake nearly all of my thoughts. Inspiring and being there for others is what I want to do with my life even if its hard or I didn't always have that kind of support. So, hearing her say that nearly brought me to tears and my knees and has kept me going through such a challenging time recently. The other was from a close author friend of mine saying the best compliment he has ever reciegved in his life is "Your descriptions are strong as Macdonald's Sprite" (Yeahhhhh I don't anything is ever gonna top that lol!)

The guy I am seeing said he gets a bit overwhelmed by my compliments, how can you make sure you don’t make him feel that way. I am just a very expressive with my words, and showing my feelings. He calls me his lady bug, it was a private joke, and it stuck which is so cute from him, and he pays me lots of compliments too. I call him my Italian stallion which was another private joke.
